  1. Montreal has a very simple gameplan. Stop the other team. Throw it to Duron Carter.
  2. If you want to get on your soap box and gloat when you are right, you're more than welcome to do so. Many of us are guilty of it. But you have to be prepared for the alternative ... wearing the horns when you're wrong. The one theme that seems to be constant around here is that the more animated you are, the more animated the responses to you will be.
  3. Where did we make progress? The head coaching spot ... the approach to the way we deal with free agency ... the approach to the way we deal with Canadian talent ... the willingness to look within the league to fill holes on our roster ... the quarterback position ... the running back position ... the secondary ... the placekicker position ... the top end of our receiving group Where did we fail? Arguably with our coordinator jobs ... the offensive line ... the defensive line ... the linebacking group ... the bottom end of our receiving group ... We won in a lot of the areas that mattered the most. We saw progress in the standings. We're trending upwards. I'm happy. Unsatisfied, but happy.
  4. You think Rich as the site owner disrespects this community? His mantra is a giant middle finger to the community that visits this place? And the rest of the guys who volunteer their time to this place? You should be embarrassed for even suggesting such a thing. Do you know what Rich gets out of fronting the money for this place? How much of the revenue he takes for himself in exchange for the late nights when he has to do site updates or for the money that he puts up to pay for server fees, etc? Not a single dime. It all goes to you guys. The shirts we made, the contests we run, the season tickets we donated to charity on behalf of all of our members here. All of it is for our members, not for the people who own and operate this site. There's ONE guy on our moderation team that pushes the envelope. Me. You want to suggest I'm a bad site administrator? Go right ahead. While you're at it, maybe find me some examples of how I've used my admin privileges in an abusive fashion because there's a difference between "mod abuse" and you just not liking my attitude sometimes. But it has nothing to do with the entire team that works on this place and I find it quite unbelievable that you would even suggest it does.
  5. So you think this is a 14-3 team with a MLB, Cotton and a new DC?
  6. He may not have straight away speed that would contribute to a strong 40 time but his in game speed is very impressive. Long smooth strides combined with strong route running and a quick break = separation. I watched Tuinei play in college every week. He has all the tools to be great.
  7. That sucks, he played well for us.
  8. 32 rushing yards. Not 64
  9. I'd say we're fairly lenient. That being said, you'd probably be shocked at how much we do get rid of. I won't speak for any of the other moderators or administrators around here, but I find that the majority of what I have to delete is stuff that stems from people not being willing or interested in using the report function and just taking it upon themselves to open fire on a post they deem against the code of conduct. Myself, I very rarely see any posts that our members have reported. A few now and then.
  10. I want penalties to be called too. I just don't want it to affect the flow of the game and IMO, it does. Bombers aside, this has been the lowest quality of CFL football in quite some time. A lot of that has to do with the penalty parade. Something has to change and this is just a compromise that benefits the fans.
  11. Interesting that you'd take my quote out of context but anyways ... all I was really pointing out is that it's interesting to me that a lot of people seem to want to make things sound even worse than they are around here ... which I can't quite understand. There's enough to be upset about without having to fabricate things.
  12. Yes, of couse he does. But the Bombers don't. Willy getting 1% better has more value to this franchise than Marve getting 10% better. Very deceitful of you to remove the most relevant part of my post. Willy has absolutely nothing to gain from this game, especially if he's already ailing. ? It's right up there for everyone to read, it meanders thru a couple of different thoughts that just weren't relevant to my point. Do you re-read every original post thru all the re-quotes? That's pretty sweet, having that much time to kill. Willy has less to gain, not "absolutely nothing". That is because he is further along in his development. He's not at the end of it. And every gain he makes now will be incredibly important in the future. I don't think there's anything to gain from playing one more meaningless game at the end of the season. He's already played 16 games this year, and is probably looking forward to the off-season. If you don't think there's anything to gain, then why are you so invested in who starts and who doesn't? Because I believe Marve at least has something to gain, plus I firmly believe that he gives us a better chance to win. We haven't won in so long that I've almost forgotten what it feels like. If Marve has something to gain ... why wouldn't Drew Willy? Especially when he's actually come out and said he believes there is. I guess you'd know better.

  14. To me, one of the biggest things this year is that penalties were absolutely just killing offensive rhythms. And a lot of it was ticky tack stuff. I think if you polled fans, not many of us would want to see big plays called back by silly ticky tack penalties. I don't think I've thought this through enough to say it's the best idea, but I'd propose something like this - if there is an infraction on the play, unless the penalty being committed directly contributes to the result of the play, then I don't want to see it wipe out the play. Best example I can give is that huge completion to Romby Bryant that was called back by a hands to the face penalty. What I'd ideally like to see happen there? Apply the penalty after the gain. It was illegal but it had no direct impact on the play itself. So if Romby scores there ... put the Bombers on the 10. The only caveat I'd put on this is that objectionable conduct (facemask, etc) penalties would wipe out plays entirely. I've just seen too many big plays called back by stupid penalties that took place WAY away from the play. Nobody wants to see a 50 yard catch and run called back because there was offensive holding on the entirely opposite side of the field. Not with the way our referees throw flags. It was just painful this year.
  15. That's a weird picture. Looks like the ball was spotted at the 1 1/2 yard line which would make the Hamilton player onside. But I'm assuming this was a capture after the snap. Either way ... I think it's a good thing for Bob Young to have done this. The officiating is terrible in the CFL and it's getting worse.
  16. This caught me off guard. But then I thought about it ... and I don't think you're too far off.
  17. If anyone thinks that by having Marve start this week, it means anything for next year, they're sorely mistaken. Marve could throw for 400 yards and 5 touchdowns and all it means is that the media will have some ammunition for when they conjure up their articles this offseason about a QB controversy. Willy is still QB1 going into next year, he's earned the reps, he deserves the reps and even if he's dinged up, beaten down and it ends up in a big loss for us, it's still all part of the process we need to be prepared to go through as fans. Because the end result will be a properly developed star QB. Period. You have to be Kidding ? No. I'm not kidding. One game doesn't make a starting quarterback and even if Marve did put up those kind of numbers, assuming that meant he is ready to be a full time starter is as close to a surefire way to ruin his development as you'll find.
  18. Every single person. Spot on.
  19. If you want to argue in favor of sitting him out as a form of protecting him, I can at least get on board with that suggestion. It wouldn't be my first choice, but I understand the idea.
  20. Reality.
  21. There is very little about you worth respecting, whether I agree with your opinions or not. It's something that is earned, not given.
  22. You could always share your drunken rants on another Bomber forum?
  23. Have another beer.
  24. Maybe. But he's no more than an average lineman at this stage of his career.
