Yeah I wouldn't say Durant is in a decline. Hard to be a successful passer when you don't have a legitimate #1 receiver and your OC just prefers to pound the rock.

The thing everyone is overlooking is that the whole dynamic of their offense changes. They are able to run so effectively because yes, they have a great OL and a three headed running attack. But the other factor is that Durant has earned the respect of opposing defenses. You can't just key in on stopping the run entirely because Durant is still back there with the ability to hurt you for six points through the air. Tino isn't going to get handed that respect. Especially when teams watch film and see his inconsistency with the intermediate game. He's going to have to prove he can burn you with his arm before the run game can keep on trucking. The offence changes a bit but Tino's been with the team for awhile. Cortez will reconfigure the game plan. The Riders may stumble a bit with Sunseri but it is a great opportunity to get him some reps. I honestly think Tino will be a solid CFL qb. I'm not talking about what the Riders do. I'm talking about what other teams do against them. And that changes. A lot. I assume you believe other teams will stack the box and dare the Riders to pass? I'm sure Cortez will be anticipating that and prepare Tino accordingly. And then what happens if he can't? And I'm not talking about once, so don't bring up some obscure single throw like last time. I'm talking about consistently. And while we're at it ... let's raise some other concerns. Tino is *the* guy now. Wasn't the big knock on him in college that he absolutely SUCKED at being *the* guy?

Durant is totally important. He is a warrior and one of the top two or three qbs in the CFL and there is nobody I would rather have leading the Riders into the playoffs. Why does that mean that Sunseri sucks? Nobody is saying Sunseri sucks. You should learn to identify a middle ground.

FTR it was a coin toss as to who was better last season between Willy or Sunseri. yeah, you're right. I mean like one pass. We don't drink the Rider kool aid here and whether you want to acknowledge it or not, Sunseri and his handful of pro snaps are a major downgrade from Durant and when defenses are already keying in on your run game because it's your primary source of offense, it's certainly not going to help when the only true decoy you have to that goes down to an injury. Kool Aid? Riders have an impressive o-line, run game and defence? No? Or is that Kool Aid? Tino is a downgrade, obviously. He will have to manage the game and personally I think he is on par with Willy albeit without the snaps to have as much polish yet. If you think he is on par with Drew Willy, you've lost it. You realize you're comparing him to a QB who is on pace for nearly 5000 yards passing, right? A guy with 43 pro throws to his name. Hate to break it to you but Tino Sunseri is nowhere near on the same level as Drew Willy. May he be eventually? Sure. Not today. Not tomorrow. Not this year. Uhm, trying reading closer. I said he is on par with Willy "without the snaps." There is a reason why the Riders didn't even think about attempting to re-sign Willy and his name is Sunseri. There will be bumps, just like you guys are experiencing with Willy and his late game turnovers but I think Tino can play. Nice try. Until Tino Sunseri proves he can throw anything but a deep ball, it's going to be an even rougher go on offense for the Roughriders. Teams are simply going to key in on the run and make sure the safety is available to provide help over the top. No respect for the accuracy of his arm in the intermediate game.

Both teams made multiple mistakes in each and every game so what is your point exactly? For F sakes, in the last game alone the Riders fumbled the ball twice on third and short! Add to that a myriad of penalties on the Riders in the first game and a punt return given up for a touchdown in the LDC. It seems that as fans we love remembering the screw-ups that our team made but so quickly and easily dismiss the other team's blunders. I wouldn't call a punt return touchdown a "mistake", that'd be like calling a rushing touchdown allowed a mistake. The other team gets paid to play too. What I'm talking about is fumbles. Interceptions. Plays that swing field position and momentum. You may have won all three and credit is certainly deserved for that but let's be honest for a second ... you didn't win a single game by more than one possession. Your margin of victory in each game was either 5 or 6 points. We turned the ball over seven times in the first game, twice in the second and three times in the third. That's 12 turnovers in 3 games compared to only 3 for Saskatchewan. Your turnover ratio was +9 and you only won by a combined margin of 17 points in 3 games. You don't think turnovers were a BIG factor?

The three games in Saskatchewan told me the following ... the two teams are not that far apart and if you make a mistake, it will likely cost you the game.

I hate when they don't schedule the annual triangle field game in the first half of the year. Really gets sloppy in the fall weather.

Right, so your solution is to bring it an ancient MLB who is probably not even close to being ready to contribute as a starter when he's sat out over half a season and then on top of that, sign Damaso Munoz who for some reason is going to jump at the chance to be a backup in the CFL straight off a stint in the NFL.

Romby just isn't making it happen. Zero chemistry with Drew Willy. If Aaron Kelly could learn how to be a better route runner, he'd be an amazing receiver. He just can't get open to save his life. I actually happen to think our arsenal on offense is pretty damn good. We just need those final one or two pieces to replace the weak links.

I guess they could've called a late hit against the Bombers for hitting Durant. As long as they called a late hit against every OL who blocked a DL. And vice versa. And the RB who contacted our LB. And maybe on all the receivers and defensive backs, since they were all over each other.
