  1. Winnipeg does pretty well in that regard too though. Hell, even Charlie Roberts is back working in Winnipeg.
  2. I wonder if anyone out there has a Chiyoke Onyenegecha jersey.
  3. I would rather have SJ Green than Chris "I'm injured again" Matthews. Don't know what Matthews did to upset you, but I'd recommend you give him a break. Going on about how "injury prone" he is would sound awfully foolish if you knew the entire situation.
  4. Bombers = Z-
  5. Bell had a pretty modest cap hit, his deal was mostly incentive driven, based on games started at QB. I assume you are being sarcastic here. While there is a salary cap, my guess is that the Bombers have an internal overall budget handed down by the board, and aren't necessarily spending to the new cap this year. So if Wade wants to spend more on the football side, the board could tell him that's fine, but he can't exceed the overall budget. Would just be shuffling money around from the admin budget to the football operations. I'm just speculating, but that's how it would be done in practice. I would definitely agree there's an overall budget internally, but 150k against a salary cap we're well under shouldn't require any restructuring of anything. Just because the cap is $5 million this year doesn't mean the Bombers can/will spend to the cap. Like I said, the BOD likely gives Wade an overall budget and Wade spends however he wants in terms of how much he allocates to football ops and how much he allocates to the administrative side of the organization. With all the firings recently on the admin side, and the increase in coaching staff, I think its clear Wade is shifting financial resources in the overall budget from admin to football ops. Let me pitch it to you this way. Dressler was cut on Monday. Do you really think the decision to remove a position such as vice president from the company structure was a decision they made in less than 24 hours?
  6. 34 teams, 84 game schedule then I assume?

  9. Jim Bell is a great guy but I'm not going to pretend that I don't think Wade Miller is improving things in the organization. I don't know if I like this decision but if we're truly being honest with ourselves, it takes more than just being a nice guy to earn your keep.
  10. Nothing is going on with them, those guys just aren't very good.
  11. Please don't make jokes about dying on mountains. You can call me whatever you want but my mother's great uncle Herbert died on a mountain and it has been a source of grief for my entire family throughout many generations.
  12. Wow.
  13. How would Saskatchewan be able to pay for him after signing so many guys. The Blue should have the most play money in the league with Ottawa a close 2nd. Selective memory.
  14. I feel like Greg Peach is a bit too much of an O'Shea guy at this point. He's not irreplaceable.
  15. Right, less focus on him in Ottawa where they're desperate for a face of the franchise who isn't turfing throws into the dirt. Or he could come here and just fit right in instead of being expected to be a savior.
  16. Sort of, but he REALLY did not like the coaching staff we had last year for obvious reasons.
  17. The biggest thing is obviously the huge ability to not take RTP or face masking calls. To get 15 sacks and only take one RTP call is unbelievable.
  18. From going over post-game stats from last season at CFL Media, when Hall was with the Bombers he went offside 10 times however 6 of those penalties occurred in two games (3 against Calgary, 3 against Hamilton). I'm pretty certain what you're looking at doesn't account for the penalties that were not accepted.
  19. I don't know how he compared to the rest of the pass rushers in the league, but here's the breakdown of his time with the Bombers last season 15 sacks for a total loss of 120 yards. 4 tackles behind the line of scrimmage for a loss of 11 yards. 3 forced fumbles. 7 penalties for a total of 36 yards. Only 1 rough play penalty all year for a 6 yard infraction, 6 offsides penalties.
  20. You know this is a website for discussion right?
  21. Thumbed their noses at us? Or maybe they just said "sorry, Winnipeg, we appreciate your offer but we've opted to choose a different one. Thank you" Then what?
  22. There isn't an elite team in the league this year. As good as the west looks in the standings, it's because the east is allowing all of us to inflate our record. Calgary can beat BC can beat Saskatchewan can beat Winnipeg can beat Edmonton can beat Calgary on any given day of the week.
  23. Coming from a guy who called out Chad Johnson as classless for some harmless behavior, this is incredibly ironic.
  24. I love how people see Cotton carry once a game and decide his level of ability based upon that.
  25. Couldn't help myself, stoked about tonight's win and needed to discuss it. Sorry for stealing the thread from our normal thread starters. The Good -- The Maurice Leggett / Chris Randle Connection, teaming up for three tight coverage tip ball interceptions. Leggett is a legitimate ballhawk back there. He's quickly become competition for Tyron Brackenridge as the CFL's best safety. -- Ian Wild ... 14 defensive tackles, he was all over the place tonight -- Abe Kromah was an absolute run stuffer tonight. Just as I predicted before the game, I'll predict it after the game - Kuale has lost his job. -- Derek Jones ... this guy is turning out to be a steal. Pure hustle player. Blocked punt and a huge block on ST to set up the big Stoudermire return. -- The tackling tonight ... just to single out a few guys. If Big League Teague keeps up that tackling proficiency (which he lacked heavily earlier in the year) he could be a great NI starter on D for a long while in this league. Randle, Washington and Leggett also all made great strides in their approach to bringing guys down tonight -- Troy Stoudermire is going to keep Aaron Woods out of the lineup long term if he keeps this up. He's a legit threat to break one. -- The offense in the fourth quarter ... if we're within a possession late, we always have a chance with these guys -- Team discipline AGAIN The Bad -- Our offense for the first 45 minutes of the game. Playcalling in particular. -- Nick Moore ... hoping it's just rust, but as of right now, he's a REC2 getting paid like a REC1 and the fumbles aren't helping. Still a fan though, just not a great game. -- The pass interference nonsense. Hate that this is what the CFL is coming to. The Ugly -- The uniforms. Good lord. -- Matt Bucknor's face after Tyrell Sutton put a palm imprint in it on that stiff arm. That was NOT a good play by Bucknor. -- Alex Brink. Thanks for coming out. We're 6-3!
