  1. For a conditional 2015 draft pick. Interesting move.
  2. I was in support of Woods using a spot because I figured he could be a valuable member of some of our offensive packages. If he isn't going to be used that way, it may be more effective to have Cotton in there. I'm curious to see what happens with Cotton now that he's going to be healthy.
  3. Honestly, I can't see much of a change from last week other than Hamilton. Last week's rankings 1. Calgary - didn't play, hard to adjust them based on the movement of other teams 2. Saskatchewan - got squashed, but by Toronto who is likely going to be referred to as a contender who had a bad day against us. Will maybe drop one spot. 3. Hamilton - will drop big time. 4. Toronto - will likely move up one or two based on their stomping of Saskatchewan 5. BC - will swap places with Montreal 6. Montreal - will swap places with BC 7. Edmonton - still undefeated 8. Winnipeg - Edmonton is still undefeated, why would we move up much if they don't 9. Ottawa - strong effort against Winnipeg not enough This week (imo) 1. Calgary 2. Toronto 3. Saskatchewan 4. Montreal 5. BC 6. Edmonton 7. Winnipeg 8. Hamilton 9. Ottawa
  4. I don't ... I won't be surprised if he's not even the guy going forward. Too many fumble issues.
  5. Broken collarbone after a tackle from Brian Peters in the game yesterday. Shitty for Durie and the Argos. I like Durie, he's an awesome story. Gotta wonder at 32 (33 later this month) though ... could this be it? Does Coombs take his job while he's out?
  6. Why would you take Unamba off? He's been a special teams stud thus far.
  7. Good to see Sherman succeed but do you think he will develop into a starter? I see him more as a role player like Pontbriand, a great fill in that plays with enthusiasm and gusto and is a superstar on special teams. I think he falls somewhere in between those two. I don't think I'd like to see him starting, but I certainly think he's earning his defensive snaps out there. He's not a defensive liability.
  8. Alright, week 2 here we go. Bombers are moving the chains a lot more than their opposition thus far. Through two games, Winnipeg has gained 51 first downs and opponents have only gained 36. Winnipeg has also done an awesome job of preventing their own lack of discipline from continuing drives. After two games, they've only handed out 2 first downs as a result of penalties. To get a sense of how much teams are avoiding Chris Randle - he has 1 tackle so far this year through two games. Teams are not interested in throwing against him and are feeling much safer throwing to the other corner - Matt Bucknor has 13 tackles. Chris Randle and Johnny Sears added a pass knockdown each last game - Randle now has more knockdowns (2) than tackles (1) Demond Washington joins Teague Sherman as the only Bombers with tackles for a loss. Net offense through 2 games - 794 yards. I'll have more later.
  9. I'll concede that Troy Smith looked better in week 2 but let's be clear here - he still looked piss poor. Their offense scored ONE touchdown and he still completed not much over half his passes. I'm not impressed with Smith at all. It's been a while since we've been able to say that we clearly have the better QB going into a game.
  10. I never want to call an injury a good thing, but I also wonder ... would we have seen the emergence of Teague Sherman if Newman hadn't been hurt? I know I'm looking forward to seeing both of them on the field at once.
  11. I'm worried about how our offense will match up with their defense but I expect our defense to have a big day against Troy Smith. I'm predicting Winnipeg 24 Montreal 16 with the difference being a touchdown that isn't scored by our offense.
  12. Go get Billy Peach
  13. Go get Billy Peach
  14. Durant had a bad game. They'll bounce back.
  15. I honestly think BC would have had better results if they just used a 400 pound road cone at left tackle.
  16. Perfect example of this is the Craig Butler hit on Pierce in the Banjo Bowl. Hit him in the chest, impact rose up and Pierce's helmet flew off. Did Butler drop his head and launch the crown of his helmet into Buck's jaw? Are you implying that's what Willis did?
  17. That's a 100% clean hit. Turned away, did everything he could to avoid leading with the helmet and then the movement of each player upon contact causes the slightest of helmet contact. If you want to make H2H contact a black and white call, you're throwing multiple flags on every single play.
  18. I don't think any head coaches get canned this year. Maybe during the offseason.
  19. BC has an incredibly mediocre receiver group without Manny Arceneaux.
  20. I think Edmonton is better than they looked last week.
  21. This play calling is atrocious. Probably the most inept offensive battle I've seen in a long time.
  22. Let's get one thing straight. This game is between two awful teams. Troy Smith looks good because he's being compared to a guy with a 400 pound pylon blocking his blind side.
  23. John Bowman is a master spelunker, he's all over this Cave.
