  1. I'm not saying it's part of their contract or the CFL has a strict "cooperate with the media policy" (cause I can't find that anywhere in the info on the recently signed CBA). I am saying it's a curtesy or practice that has existed for generations and brushing it off like that seems trite. Not saying Chad hasn't done all kinds of interviews here or that he didn't have a legit reason for not talking to Bob. I guess it's just the way he presented it. "Sorry Boss" seems rather like a rather disrespectful way to me to talk to someone in the media, especially a legend like Irving. Why not just say I'm tired now can we set up a different time? I guess it's a class thing, some have it, others don't. IMO Chad could learn some from Bob. Seriously? Come on man. Calling somebody out on their level of class because they said "sorry boss" ... you must have some long arms with a reach like that.
  2. How exactly did he brush him off? Maybe Bob laughed it off, not sure though. How I read it, and I could be wrong, is when you look at the tweet it seems more like confusion on Bob's part rather than light hearted "oh that Chad" type of thing. It's almost like Bob is kind of saying in a subtle way "I guess Chad thinks he is more important than the game" IMO. Why he wouldn't make himself available when everyone else who has come up here to play has, is at least curious ... Chad Johnson has made himself incredibly available. He's been interacting with fans on Twitter ever since he got here, he's been to multiple events in the Montreal area (charity functions, etc) and he's granted interviews pretty much whenever he has been asked. So he didn't grant one the day before a game. Big deal. If this wasn't Bob Irving, nobody would care.
  3. How exactly did he brush him off?
  4. Your developmental QB doesn't have to be on the 44 man gameday roster.
  5. ... Chad Johnson has been awesome ever since he joined the CFL. You had a problem with him hugging a referee? Who are you, Roger Goodell? oh, and what's wrong with declining an interview? Even Bob Irving didn't seem to have an issue with it.
  6. I wouldn't say that at all. And the only reason you would say that is because of preseason expectations. We're into the season now, we've won and we've looked very strong doing it. Throw the predictions out the window, we're in a battle now.
  7. Hey, if it's based on weight alone, let's just trade BC for Ryan Cave so he can sneak the ball.
  8. Nailed it.
  9. Hahahaha QB Josh Portis from Toronto for a conditional draft pick.
  10. I'm thinking Suber to Argos because I know Burke really liked him, and he's the Argos DC now. True, but after acquiring Dwight Anderson ... how much room do they really have? I didn't see a big need at DB to begin with for them, unless Drew Willy got a couple of them fired in week 1
  11. I just don't see how Suber holds value. I'll be impressed if Walters gets anything for him, it's rare anyone wants to assume a vet DB's existing contract.
  12. Roster players rarely seem to get traded. I doubt it's roster players going BOTH ways. Could we see Mulumba or Bilukidi get traded?
  13. I can see it now. We'll win against Edmonton on Thursday. And then be ranked fifth next week.
  14. ... and will be announcing it in 15 minutes. Let the speculation begin.
  15. I figured the CFL would somehow find a way to put them fourth.
  16. I think most fans (myself included) should just stick with "we shouldn't be satisfied with our OL" and then leave it at that.
  17. Never understood the fascination with dealing depth as soon as we acquire it.
  18. Checked out his game logs. Definition of inconsistency in 2013. 66% completion rate. 1 game out of 11, he completed between 60%-70% of his passes. 80.6%, 55.6%, 59.6%, 90%, 85.2%, 51.3%, 56.5%, 72.2%, 59.4%, 74.2%, 61.7%
  19. My brain hurts.
  20. Is that the play where Lumbala fielded the ball with his knee on the ground? Hence, he wasn't actually taking a knee?
  21. I could be wrong, but I don't actually think this could happen. Like ... I don't think the results could end up in a situation where this would even be a question. All 5 teams in the West finish with better records than teams 2, 3 and 4 in the East? I'm not sure either, just asking. Yeah. I don't know the rule ... I don't know if there even is a rule because I don't know if the schedule possibly allows this. It's a good question.

  23. Why would we do that?
  24. Both teams have been lucky (or fortunate, whatever you prefer) to win a couple of their games. Winnipeg is the only one of the two that has really put the boots to another team and I'd say the quality of their competition has been tougher as well. Mike Reilly and Drew Willy have more or less been a wash. I'd definitely give the nod to Willy so far, but it's been close. Reilly is more of a threat on the run, Willy has been a more effective passer to this point. I don't think it's going to come down to the QB so much as it's going to come down to who plays better defense and who earns better field position. Both teams have some absolute ballers in the secondary and the defensive line. Edmonton's secondary with Burnett, Grymes and Watkins matches up well and I really do think this will be a game where not having Cory Watson will hurt us. I won't be surprised to see Willy rely on JFG and Nick Moore to move the chains in the intermediate game instead of trying to stretch the field. I think this would also be a good game to get Cotton AND Grigsby involved. The big hope for me is that we contain Bowman and Stamps. Bruce Johnson and Demond Washington will have a big task ahead of them but they've done a good job to date. Bruce Johnson especially. 6 tackles in the opener as he got picked on in his debut. He hasn't been giving much up since. Teams really are picking on Bucknor a little bit so let's hope he comes to play.
