Riiiiight, cuz you were oh so much closer to the action then O'Shea was... Why do people keep thinking our coaches are lying to us? Especially on a dumb **** situation like this?? It's just an opinion. That being said, I'm sure Floyd is probably not watching the same amount of game film as the coaches, so it'd probably be wise of him to defer to the experts who break down tape rather than rely on his opinion from slow motion replays.

Brand new. He was one of our only tailback prospects without any CFL experience whatsoever.
-
Obviously he's made it. Cotton has potential to lead the league in rushing this year.
-
Which is all well and good except that every time he's on the field as a DB he's somewhat of a liability.

Graig Newman out for the year with a broken ankle
Mike replied to Mike's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
I don't know whay he measures up to by CFL standards but one of Willies strenghts at Buffalo was moving around the defense to help with depth or production wherever we needed it.. Since you brought him up ... what was the book on Moseley in college? He seems to move well on the big field but the one thing I've been really underwhelmed with is his tackling. For a guy that size, he's sure had a hard time wrapping guys up. -

maybe he is, but I'm not. -
Hello from a Buffalo Fan turning into a Winnipeg Fan...

Glad you signed up here. Our OL is a big question mark. There is promise with it in that we have a highly touted prospect (Goossen) being groomed and the acquisition of Patrick Neufeld seems to be the solution for now at RT but our interior has struggled. It'll be up and down to start the year, but Bob Wylie will definitely lead them to a marked improvement as the year goes on. -
This guy is still acting as if he's going to sign with us. It's kind of comical actually. I feel like he's just playing it up for all of his friends to try and seem like a big deal, don't really know what else it could be at this point. Travon Jones @TravonT1Jones Agent said keep your phone on you don't want to agree to a deal with out you! At this point let's just agree and bring home a grey cup!!! Travon Jones @TravonT1Jones @Wpg_BlueBombers #T1C soon hold on!!! If this guy IS for real, he's a bit of a moron. If he's not for real, it's almost sad in a way.

the one spot we don't need Canadians.

The only reason Tate being cut bothers me is because we cut guys who weren't "Etch" types and kept guys who were and now the epitome of an Etch guy is the first one cut.
-
I don't think we are going to DI Paris Cotton. I think he's our feature back.
-
sadly, we can probably find some upgrades via the waiver wire when all the cuts are made.
-
Made official this morning Kenny Tate Errol Brooks Chris Kowalczuk CJ Tarver no surprise on Tarver. The other three would not have been my first guesses.

Broken, dislocated. Tough break, can't wait to see Graig next year!
-
I've always liked Matt Burke. But I also wouldn't mind a Burke free year
-
And considering this is the first cutdown day for this management group, this would all be based on .... ?

He dropped a gimme yesterday. In fact yesterday was a typical Aaron Kelly game. One great play that sticks in the minds of fans and then everyone forgets how he was invisible the rest of the game (aside from a drop)

I agree re: Urrutia. Bringing him back to the ball is not going to be his strength. Slants and deep routes. Jaymar Johnson was a lot better against Calgary. He also turns 30 in less than a month, which I'm not a big fan of. Bert Reed is honestly the guy I liked the most. But you're right in the sense that we need a big body. He is not that. I think all things considered, I'd stick with Urrutia.
-
no That's not necessarily true. Who else made Stevie Baggs a sack leader? how many sacks did the other guys get?compared to what we're used to seeing, our defense is going to look pretty craptacular in this area Ask Jon Chick ...

Yeah just not enough depth to do that. But our fifth receiver spot is iffy as it is. If I'm picking our receivers right now, I'm going Moore, Denmark, Kohlert, Watson and ... I don't even know after that. Urrutia maybe? He had a few balls knocked out of his hands last night but I also don't really think they had him doing things that put him in a position to succeed. Jaymar Johnson? Great, but he's a slot not a wideout. Bert Reed wasn't bad either. I certainly wouldn't want Kemp or Barnes.

You're also cherry picking a bit, but I'm sure you knew that. It's easy to say that Etcheverry's defense was weak in 2010 (especially their defensive line) after he lost a ton of personnel from the previous season. And hey, they still went to the Grey Cup. None of that makes him a great or even a good defensive coordinator, but cherry picking statistics that have everything to do with personnel that won't be wearing blue and gold makes little sense. Maybe for speculation. But to use it and try to prove anything definitively? Not likely.
-
How? They've both been given more or less the same opportunity.
-
I wish, you'll have your usual bomber supporters who will blindly give excuses and support whoever is on staff bash you and say its way to early, but reality is Etchevary's not a good DC. It was simply a bad hire. With who we have where, I don't see our run game getting any better. I used to think our pass defence would be good, but I'm starting to doubt that to. With Anderson sitting, we only have one, maybe two effective pass rushers on the DLine. It's not blind support. And if it is, then your discontent is blind as well. Maybe he's not a good DC, it's not unlikely by any stretch. But when you're unconventional, preseason isn't going to be where the determination is made

Some interesting even encouraging game stats ...
Mike replied to IC Khari's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
We won the time of possession battle (35 and change to 24 and change), we only took 3 penalties, we had nearly 300 passing yards, we won the yardage battle overall, we broke 100 yards rushing and we lost on a last second field goal. On top of that, can someone point out a blatant mistake made by anyone who is actually going to see major playing time? I saw big mistakes by Kemp, Howard, Barnes and Peterson. I saw lots to be positive about and lots worth being optimistic about. I saw bad things too and there are still questions but it's comical that people are reacting as if this was 52-0 all over again.
