I know they love the guy and nobody wants to give up a roster player, but if I'm Walters, I'm hardballing Buono. I don't want two picks for the #2, I want #5 and a guy like Haidara.
-
I know Walters likes him, but I don't really see a true fit in terms of where they are picking.
-
I think Pruneau is going to be a guy that goes a lot earlier than people expect. I've thought out scenarios where he goes as high as 3rd.

Can't wait to hear what this is. Anyone care to speculate? Wouldn't that be the news that CFLPA is suggesting a strike vote? It's already 1:20 PM in Sportsnet's EST time zone and that news came out about 90-120 minutes ago.

Madani: CFLPA Recommends Strike Vote To Members
Mike replied to Noeller's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Posted it on Twitter this morning, the 2014 increase that the owners proposed equates to 3.6% of the new revenue. Absolutely disgusting. -
Figured we could get one central thread going for all the articles, tweets, thoughts and comments of the day. I encourage everyone to join the chat tonight as well.

I saw the Vikings just released him this morning. He'd be great. Maybe I'm just reading too much into it, but that could be a reason they couldn't give out a name yet last night and Lawrence would be a near perfect fit for what Etcheverry wants to do, even more so than Kuale.
-
I think it's going to be Simoni Lawrence. It makes sense ...
-
I agree with you, but the catch is that I don't think people are sure of whether or not Goossen is a sure fire starter. I don't know if this is a fair comparison, but Goossen basically comes across as Pencer in terms of projecting a developmental curve.
-
Interesting all the ink Player is getting now. Desperation for OL setting in as we get to draft day?
-
Why would the Bombers trade out if they need OL help? Makes no sense.Makes plenty of sense if you're looking to maximize value. Goossen at 2 is not good value. In a shallow draft trading out is not a good move. You're misinterpreting the meaning of shallow. The top 15 stacks up against most draft classes. It falls off somewhere shortly after that if you ask most scouts. Tyler will probably be able to put a more exact analysis together though.

Something tells me this may not be a "name" CFLer. If it's Kuale, that's also super underwhelming.

I've said it the whole time. Winnipeg is not extremely high on Goossen. If they draft him it's not because they love him.

Terrell Parker & Mike McAdoo released

Super unhappy about Parker being released, but I guess this is to be expected now that the draft has come and gone. Fringe NFL guys should be added shortly. -
If Austin was able to sell Shomari Williams contract... This is true.
-
How would anyone try to sell that contract to another team in a trade? Makes sense.

I don't mind that pick... Tom Brady will be 37 this season and he's not going to play forever. The pick that struck me as odd was the Browns using their first pick on Justin Gilbert, a cornerback. But they were still able to grab Manziel later on so it ended up looking like an okay move, I guess. I like Gilbert but I hated the move for two reasons. First of which I don't think the Browns got NEARLY the return they should have gotten moving down from four to nine, especially when you consider the prices paid to teams for first round draft trades in the past. The return St. Louis got from the Redskins for example in the RG3 deal when they moved from four to two immediately comes to mind. Second, based on reports some (not sure how everybody didn't know but I digress) but some of the Browns staffers were aware of the second failed drug test by Josh Gordon two weeks before the draft (Last year's NFL leading receiver with over 1,600 yards) that will most likely result in him missing all of the upcoming season. Based on that, why are you trading out of that spot when you have Sammy Watkins right in your lap? Your defence is already very good. You could have had Manziel (who I think sits now for 2014 based on the Gordon situation) paired up with Watkins and Cameron. Add Gordon back in 2015 and that's one hell of a passing attack. I think they got a great return. Justin Gilbert, a likely top 10 pick in 2015 and a 4th rounder in the same year. If suddenly that 2015 1st rounder turns into an offensive weapon like maybe Todd Gurley or Nelson Agholor ... that trade looks great for Cleveland.

As someone who hates giving compliments to anything Stanford (Oregon fan here) I have to agree that it's criminal that Skov went undrafted
-
Darrin stole my scoop. I'll get him! I like Moseley, he actually played alongside Khalil Mack in college and he's a big big body at 6'5" He'll be a factor in the competition at DE
-
And Cody Husband.
-
Who cares how much he weighs? How big does he play?
-
I wonder how a guy his size would hold up in that spot over 18 games? Newman isn't even 200 pounds. Newman is a silly option to me, but Wild seems like such a fit there, he flowed to the ball and always seemed to be around the play last year. Unbelievable motor and it gives you the ability to put him and Parker on the field at the same time.
