Bob Wylie arrived in Winnipeg this afternoon on a flight from Minneapolis, let's hope he is here to sign a contract.

I have been Santa Lucia fan for some time, but I recently tried Gondola pizza... wow, was that ever good! Not over-heaped with toppings like at Santa Lucia, so you don't have to eat it with a fork and knife. I think it's the sauce that makes it stand out to me. And they have this in-house shredded salami salad with oil and vinegar dressing... to die for. I strongly recommend Gondola next time you do delivery.
Who eats pizza with a fork and knife. Psshhh...you girl. And stop changing your name...for a while I was like...where did that guy come from. Ya weirdo.
And gondola is good, I like that too.

Yikes. I'm pretty sure most people on here could run a faster 40 than 5.12.
They used FAT timing which results in much slower sounding times, but it's still not an impressive number. Especially for a guy who isn't even considered a NI at this point.

Montreal Combine is finished ...
Have to be honest, it's a pretty sad showing. One guy that really surprised me was Laval receiver Julian Bailey. This guy was considered a top 10 pick in this class a few years ago, but it turns out he hasn't qualified as a non-import yet. He still participated at the combine as an import today and ran a 5.12 40 yard. Expected better.
At first glance, I didn't see many guys whose testing numbers would earn them an invite. Quinn Everett would be one, but to me, you'd have to earn an invite based on the interview if you were anybody else.

The problem with PI in the CFL is that nobody calls it the same way. There doesn't seem to be a proper definition that all referees follow when making their judgment on a play.
Unless they look at that first, it doesn't matter if they can go to video replay or not. It's still going to be inconsistent.

I hadn't heard anything about Johnson's domestic abuse case since the Hard Knocks series a few years ago when he was released. All you needed to say was that he was convicted of deomestic assault & went to jail. From your comment you seem to be assuming that somehow I don't think spousal abuse is serious which is so wrong if you do. So, I don't like that assumption. Next time, choose your words differently, okay.

Sure Mike, the comments weren't directed at you so why should YOU feel offended? I do get upset when someone says something like that to me. Jacquie doesn't know me. She has no idea about my beliefs or core values. So yeah, damned right I resent it. I think Johnson is a coward for doing what he did. I do think what he did was serious. Very serious. I honestly didn't know he did that.
I'm not saying you shouldn't be offended IF that's what she said. I'm saying you need to stop reading so much into harmless comments. The way I read it, it was basically her saying "this is what he did in case you didn't know" and the way you read it led you on some unnecessary tirade about beliefs or core values.
Sometimes you just need to remember this is the internet.

When the Miami Dolphins were on Hard Knocks 3 years ago the guy had some issues with a crazy wife he had just married a few weeks before. She had him thrown in jail for assault but I don't think he actually did anything.

Thought it was super cool that the quote in today's Sun from Evan Gill says he'd love to play here.
Thought it was ridiculous that the Sun also tried to suggest he added 20 pounds of muscle in 2 months.
Darren Bauming was saying that Gill said he has gone from 6'3" 280 at the end of the season up to 305-310, depending on the day.
I don't doubt the weight figures. But it's not 100% muscle. Not even close.

I'm so excited for Robert to get this opportunity and I will not pretend to know a whole heck of a lot about the CFL but believe I will soon. Robert has a cannon for an arm and he is a fierce competitor. Don't believe the negative publicity surrounding his time at the U. Trust me when I say that...there are two sides to every story and I'll leave it at that. Winnipeg football fans....get ready for some zip on that ball and some long and accurate passes down the field.This is going to be fun. Please believe it.

Thanks for the welcome. I've known Robert since he was in middle school. Extended family...brother in law. He's a good kid and is so very focused and talented. I won't pretend to know much about the CFL rules and the game in general but from what I've seen, it's a pass oriented league and the QB should have a strong arm and good mobility which are both strengths for Robert. How's the Offensive line in Winnipeg? Receivers? RB's?
Offensive line is weak, although some people around here will make it sound absolutely abysmal. It's below average with the ability to perform above average on an inconsistent basis.
Receivers should be very solid. Lance Moore's brother plays up here and was 4th in the league in receiving last year, we signed him as a FA to play inside for us and we also have a couple other guys who are capable of 1000 yards. Plus, there are always imports who come up here and make an impact as rookies.
Running backs is tough to say ... our main guy right now is Will Ford and he was a divisional all star last year but he only really had a full time role half the year. I personally don't see him as an every down back, some others might. We might have a rookie at the tailback spot.

What's the deal with Aaron Picton and Sam Sabourin? I thought they were draft eligible but they're not attending the combine. Any reason?

Overall very entertaining and a good job! This will definitely generate some discussion/debate. I do have a few comments:
- Interesting you have Goossen ahead of Lavertu. Do you have him ahead of Lavertu because of his versatility to play both centre and guard?
- Cant see Lavertu going as late as 7th
- The Blue Bombers will be taking an OL
- Calgary already has their starting centre in Brett Jones
- Can't see Coombs going in the first round
- Why no Gill in the first round?
Thanks gbill2004! I think Gill is another guy that'll weigh his NFL options.. I saw him as well down at the East West Shrine Game and had some scouts buzzing. I think Lavertu's technique is a little sloppy and he has problems sustaining blocks
Hey this video is not bad. Definitely a different perspective. I have a hard time seeing us using our first round pick on Beau Landry, but who knows. I am interested to see what happens with Duvernay-Tardif... I kinda agree that he will fall in the draft due to NFL interest.

Very nice analysis...great job. I agree with most, but I just don't see Coombs going in the first round. But if he does, Sask does make some sense with the loss of Sheets.
I feel like I'm somewhat compensating with Coombs because I swore up and down that Lumbala wouldn't go first round last year and he went 5th overall. Made me change my mind on how I view Canadian running backs a bit and I think Coombs has more potential than Lumbala. Maybe I'm just out thinking myself though.

He would qualify if he applied for it. But he hasn't and probably doesn't plan to.

He does. But if the good one isn't available, he won't take Goossen just to fill a need.

Kirk Penton reported in yesterday's paper that Queens LB Sam Sabourin, who was ranked 12th in the recent CSB rankings, will not turn pro and that's why he isn't attending the combine this weekend.
