True.
But jumping over Ike Charlton wasn't. Neither was jumping over Shea Emry. Or Rey Williams.

Fine, I should have said will be one of the best. And clarified that I look at him as a fb-sb so that mr perfect didn't freakout.
As for lewis, I see lavoie as the same lumbering type rec with deceptive speed and great hands
Lumbering is an interesting way to describe a guy that has become famous for jumping over defenders to avoid tackles.

Don't get me wrong, I think Lavoie is one hell of a player and I'm aware of how Trestman used him in 2012 but even then, he was a tight end. He showed potential, but he's nowhere close to a top NI receiver in this league. Even if he wasn't coming off an ankle injury and back surgery that held him out almost an entire year, he'd be a wait-and-see type guy. Even more so now.

I'm just going to assume you haven't watched any alouettes games in a while
Yup, on paper he's definitely a fullback
lol
"On paper" he's a fullback, but he's definitely a receiver and in your estimation, one of the best in the league. Everyone would know that as long as they'd watched some Alouette games recently, right.
I'm assuming you're referring to the 6 games he played last year where he recorded a grand total of 6 catches, all of them stemming from routes he ran out of the backfield as a fullback.

... which probably means nothing to you.
... Until you read that he is a 23 year old Canadian who started with the Argonauts as an intern two years ago.

Mike Sims-Walker just doesn't seem like a guy who is going to be here. I don't know what it is, it just seems like a weird situation altogether and with his health concerns and the fact that he seems like a completely strange dude (he reminds me of Joe Smith) I just don't see him back.

What I'm personally most interested in is OL analysis. You're one of the only people I've seen on this forum who can actually give in-depth analysis on individual linemen.

I really wanna see what Kenny Tate can do and I'm hoping we find a spot for Parker, but I certainly won't say no to McCune for a year.

I think you pencil Sears in at the corner over Markett ... for now.
Also, I would assume Greg Peach will probably be a guy who gets cut. I'd expect McAdoo or Griggs to take that spot come week 1.

Totally agree re: Kelly

Not as a position coach especially. As a Coordinator maybe. As a HC, yes. Look at Austin.
Except Austin didn't come back until he was HC and GM. Didn't he turn down the Riders when they offered him the HC position a couple years ago?
Truly nit picking, Jacquie. Do you think every NCAA coach won't come up here unless they are both a HC & GM?
I think we need to remember these guys are individuals. There is no consistent pattern to how any of this works.

This is Korey Banks' defense, Drew Willy's offense and Mike O'Shea's team.
Should be interesting.

thank you for your contributions Terrence. You are a class act and an all around great human being. We were lucky to have you for seven seasons, and your heart and ability made a lot of the suffering we had to endure as Bomber fans bearable. Good luck.
Did anyone else see this coming? The timing just seems weird. He still has game left.
Have to admit I did. I just really didn't see a role with the team next year where his paycheque would be warranted.

As one of Terrence Edwards' biggest critics in the past few years, I'll say that he was truly an awesome player for us and I'm sad to see him go. Awesome commitment to the city and the team and I hope he sticks around in some capacity.
You are funny sometimes...
Or I guess you mean some capacity other than coaching...
I did. Something to allow him to remain visible, whether it be as a team ambassador or whatever they can find for him.

They really need to introduce the ability to allow teams to retain player rights.
For example, we should've been able to sign Henoc and Matthews to CFL contracts and THEN let them pursue the NFL. Same thing goes with guys like Cordarro Law or Dontrelle Inman.
If that was to happen, what kind of time frame would you put on it? I think it's a good idea, but you are asking for the player to commit to us, and us having to commit to the player if/when he comes back, even if we have moved on, and have adequately filled his position.
Obviously for someone like Henoc, you make more adjustments roster wise/cap wise to retain him at most costs. It would definitely add another wrench into a team's salary management abilities.
It can just be run like a negotiation list thing. First right of refusal.

Delicious irony given how many fans devoted so much mental energy denigrating Wms. and mocking HAM for signing him. HAM gets two picks for guys that were gone anyway - makes it a win in my view.
Looks like Rider fans hate the trade on RF.com.
Some are desperately trying to spin it beautiful because they got a punter and a NI STer. Never mind punting is all Bartel can do and NI STers shouldnt cost 120,000
Unless Williams has the worst agent ever, he is not making $120,000 in the second year of his free agent contract.
Not the best deal ever, but its trading a second round pick for a salary dump. Is what it is.
Are you implying he's making MORE?

RedBlacks Mascot

As an Oregon fan, I'm hoping that serial killer lumberjack can do some good and hack down the hot mess that Stanford uses for their mascot.
