You can never have enough non import tackle prospects. If Lavertu is off the board, Foucault should be the guy. Neither guy would start right away. They wouldn't even be asked to do so. Meaningful reps? Sure. Full time reps? Not a chance. That'd be a big reach. "Off the board" is some term people throw around and I never quite get why. They don't like Goossen but what if they did? If they had him ranked as the second best player, would they pass on him just because some bullshit list says he is ninth? Executives should have some self respect and not let their actions be dictated by the opinions around them.

Quite frankly, as much as you'll see movement that mirrors the thoughts of executives, trying to make pinpoint rankings off this list is pointless. The list is full of smoke and mirrors.

A lot of what I expected to see did end up happening ... Landry, Caron and Goosen were three guys I was expecting to see drop and I figured Pruneau and Ainsworth were in for a stock boost, but I have to admit I didn't expect to see Foucault go over Lavertu, Menard to show up in the top 15 and I certainly didn't expect to see Quinn Smith jump THAT high. Maybe he will go that high, I have to admit I didn't see much of him at Concordia so it's hard for me to have much of an opinion. I just didn't expect a combine performance that seemed like it came out of nowhere to have so much bearing. But if his game film got a closer look after that performance, maybe he's worthy of the jump.

Glad to see Goosen dropping, it's something that was bound to happen. Personally, I don't see him in the discussion for the 2nd overall.

That's actually why I picked Coombs... Maybe a bit far-fetched, but he gives us at least the option to start with a line of January-Greaves-Saulsberry-Pencer-Jones The content on our OL looks so bad right now, that I would sacrifice a bit of the run game (although Coombs is no slouch) Picking Coombs give us someone to contribute mainingfully right away while buying us time for Pencer et al to develop Then again, if they pick Goossen, I'm not going to flip out. If you think Coombs is going to step in to the CFL and become a feature back as a rookie Canadian, you are going to be sorely disappointed. I really like Coombs and he's got some solid potential, but he's not going to be a precedent setter at the Canadian RB spot.

Rumour: Jets/Isles to Deal on Draft Day?
Mike replied to The Unknown Poster's topic in Winnipeg Jets Discussion
It's incredibly unreasonable. And I'm a Kane fan. -
But who's going to coach the quarterbacks?
-
You sure do love jumping the gun.

Jason Barnes ... pretty good pedigree. College teammates with Marty Markett at South Carolina. Good size for a receiver in this league. I'm intrigued.

It was annoying as hell having Burke flip flop every week on who the starter will be.It only makes sense that we have a clear direction. Willy will be fine and I'm sure it can't be any worse then Goltz and his 110 yards per game... But shouldn't the 'best' guy start? I'm just asking, what IF you've got somebody that is just better? I'll start off by saying that it's always going to be a little bit difficult to understand when you're so deeply invested in one of the horses in the race, but in pro football ... the #4 guy doesn't become the #1 guy overnight. It just doesn't happen. Marve could go into camp, be lights out and look like the consensus best QB out of the four. And he still wouldn't start week one. Understood, but, if you've got a guy that can improve, at what point do you give him a shot. Aye...I've never seen this starter play and yes I'm biased......just wondering, that's all. You give him a shot when he's ready. And the reality is that unless he's going to come in and be a "once in a generation" kind of talent, he won't be ready for at least a year. Probably two or three.

NHL on TSN @NHLonTSN 4m Paul Maurice has agreed to a 4-year extension as the head coach of the @NHLJets #TSN #NHL I like it a lot. Relieved we didn't get involved with Trotz.

Brett Carter isn't slipping back into the draft. Such a thing is not possible.

For the love of god can we please just release Terriss Paliwoda already?

can you explain a bit that 'rover' position in Etch's D? is it the same to the 'jack' position in Burke's D? It's a term open to definition, it can mean any number of things but in Etcheverry's defense, it basically means a guy who could line up almost anywhere on any given play. Obviously there's more of a science to it with him, but I've given up trying to understand.
-
Well, here's the Etcheverry influence. Former Maryland safety and wide receiver Kenny Tate, who we've all been viewing as an option at one of the linebacker spots is listed as a "rover" and is taking mostly defensive line reps. Leon Williams doing the same thing.

Marve looking good today again. Apparently CJ Tarver is having a strong showing too, which is interesting to me because he's worked out for them about two or three times by now and has yet to be offered a deal. Yet one of his teammates who plays the same position (Austin Coleman) earned a deal based off the Saginaw tryout and from what I've heard, has been completely underwhelming so far this camp.

What a lunatic.

But there wasn't water coming through the roof that caused any kind of damage resulting in a facility shutdown ...

Kirk Penton mentioned in his column that two kickers will be reporting to mini camp today QB Brian Brohm and REC Mario Urrutia also showed up today. Standouts as per ... Penton: Receivers Antonio Robinson, Jaymar Johnson and Willie Haulstead. defensive backs Stephon Morris, Bruce Johnson and Cyhl Quarles Irving: Receivers Jaymar Johnson and Willie Haulstead, returner CJ Tarver, defensive backs Stephon Morris and Bruce Johnson Bauming: Receivers Willie Haulstead and Quentin Sims, quarterback Rob Marve Wiecek: busy reporting on curling, apparently

He's actually working out Tuesday now. No idea why the switch.

Kirk Penton says Rob Marve was the best QB today.
