I suppose maybe you could trick Willy into that if he was deaf, dumb and blind. Anyone who is in touch with the CFL knows Burris is going to be our starter this year. You can pitch Willy on his role of being able to have a quicker path to a starting job than in other places, including Saskatchewan but you're not going to trick him into thinking he's being given a serious chance to take our starting job out of camp.

Not even going to comment on how stupid he is because of bitterness, I'm just going to say that if that's what he wanted, that's an absolute mishandling of the situation.

Not suggesting every QB thinks the same, but we didn't lose out on Collaros from a lack of effort or lack of ability to offer a better role than other teams. We lost out on Collaros because our reputation as a franchise is in the shitter. I can't say I blame Collaros, I wouldn't have come here either if I was him. And I wouldn't come here if I was Drew Willy. I'd take the safe bet and follow Khari to BC.

I just don't understand the logic. Isn't it ironic that we got beat out for Collaros by the team that needed him because the guy working for us couldn't do the job he needs to do for us, for them? as in ... Collaros went to Hamilton because Danny Mac didn't find a prospect worth considering as a starter. And now we're going to count on him to find us a prospect worth considering as a starter.

All I will say is that it must suck for Kyle Walters knowing that he needs to rebuild such a garbage dump and he has to deal with our reputation making it difficult to bring guys in. Somebody on the Rider forum made a good point in that letting Collaros go now clarifies the FA picture so that while Toronto may not get anything for him, they may take another team out of the hunt for some of the guys they've targeted if money gets tied up in Collaros.

To me, this is a good replacement for Dan West. Definite upgrade there. I could have predicted this reaction but hey, we wanted experience and we wanted Canadian depth. This is both of those things.

Every single one of them got promotions. I don't think there's any conspiracy or turmoil that led to their departure, I think it's just a simple matter of career planning.

If Burris is not going to make us a contender why even bother
