  1. I think we're all in agreement. Murray Clarke is the ******* worst.
  2. They have Curran. Sherritt has a wonky thumb that limited him or had him out of the lineup most of last season and a huge contract. Would be a risk from Walters perspective, but Neufeld missed nearly an entire season from a broken leg that hasn't healed and was reinjured when he tried to return. I don't believe Ottawa will select him for that reason, and I think they will be starting two import tackles anyways. Now I get it I saw the * next to Muamba's name and the "* broken shin" at the bottom and did some bizarre correlation.
  3. Anyone can sign Carter.
  4. No. He's not. He played high school football in Brampton and spent enough time in Canada as a kid to be considered a non-import, but he STARTED his high school football playing days in Florida, which makes him ineligible for NI status.
  5. They're not really "safe" because they're not our property. You end the year on the practice squad, you're a free agent.
  6. Broken shin?
  7. Not sure but all I know is he's not an non-import.
  8. Carter can't be picked, pretty sure he ended the year on the PR.
  9. I've heard rumblings that Jade is one of the few guys we have a contract ready to go for once this draft is over.
  10. You may not have the names right in all spots, but I feel like you've got the general idea of what level of talent they'll get and the positions they'll focus on. Markett is a very good pick for who we may lose.
  11. No point protecting Woods, Ottawa won't want to take a little guy coming off a big injury.
  12. Needs more Zach Anderson.
  13. Being +5 wouldn't cause many problems. It's not like they'll be relying on natural ice out there. Touche.
  14. I'm guessing mid-February. March can get a little dicey. The last thing we would want is one of those random days where it's suddenly +5 out after a week of -20.
  15. I feel like being a Bomber fan should give me the right to reserve my seat for the game.
  16. I've heard the same.
  17. You "caught" an Eskimos practice once & watched anywhere from 5 minutes to maybe two hours on the field. You based what you consider is his work ethic just on that. One practice for however long you were there. You never sat in on the defensive meetings. You never saw Stubler break down film. You never saw him conduct a defensive meeting with all of his players in the meeting rooms. You never saw the meetings he conducted with his defensive assistants focusing on getting ready for the next opponent. You never saw the discussions he had with the Esks head coach at the time. You never saw the preparation that he may have done in the Eskimo offices. You don't know what was happening behind the scenes nor do you know what the defense was focusing on during practice that day. But simply based on your observations of one practice his potential hire scares you? We could hire Wally Buono & there'd be fans bitching about that, too. No matter what O'Shea does, someone will always be there to say whatever he does is a mistake. Here's what I think. This is O'Shea's first gig as a head coach. He can't afford to make a mistake & screw up hiring his coaches, especially at the coordinator positions. O'Shea trusts Stubler. He already knows the kind of coach that he is. Also, being an assistant coach in the CFL with the Argos he'd know thru the coaches grapevine if Stubler has become lazy & was just mailing it in with the Lions because he's 64. If O'Shea thinks Rich Stubler is the answer than have a little faith that he knows what he's doing hiring the guy. Stubler has proven he can run a great defense. I think having him here will be a great hire by Mike O'Shea. No offense, but we (you included) all do the same thing here every day. We use limited knowledge to form grand opinions about something we know nothing about. You despised Joe Mack and are worried about Kyle Walters in the same way, but you've never spent any time with them either. No different.
  18. When one team goes over the cap over and over again, does that cause it to cross a line from breaking the rules to cheating? As far as I'm concerned, there is no cap. It's not a salary cap, it's a SMS.
  19. I think that retirement is probably the only way Labbe will ever be properly appreciated. We'll notice his absence next year.
  20. I just don't understand how you call it cheating. There's a large difference between cheating and breaking the rules. Cheating would be hiding salaries from the audit by paying the quarterback's wife 200k a year to run the team nursery. Breaking the rules is going over the SMS limit and paying the penalty for doing so.
  21. Not much of a surprise to me, to be honest.
  22. Rumor has it we will be naming Rich Stubler our new DC. Huge if true.
  23. You nailed it. He's backloading the Picard and Bagg deals.
  24. My favorite Jim Toth moment is still when he commented on how consistent and sharp Buck Pierce looked in practice that day. It was the day Buck threw exactly one pass.
