  1. Jabari Arthur may have something to say about that. Just kidding.
  2. Personally, I don't think it should matter if the ball is catchable or not. Interfering with the receiver should be called even if it's on the back side of the play IMHO. See the infraction. Throw the flag would make it a lot easier call for the refs who have to make determinations in probably in less than a second. It would also eliminate the 'but the ball wasn't even catchable' as well as the 'if he didn't interfere the receiver might have made it to the ball' arguments. I know I'm going to see the 'It doesn't affect the play if it's away from the ball' argument, but thats just letting the DB's away with cheating and the receiver may have been part of the play, but the QB went to the next read because of the interference. I'd also like to see the offensive PI called more. Lots of receivers push off while the ball is in the air and the almost never get called. So call it illegal contact on a receiver. I don't think they should ignore it if it happens, but call it properly. If a DB is manhandling a wideout but the ball is overthrown by a mile, then yeah .. it should be a 10 yard penalty, the ball shouldn't be placed at the spot of the foul.
  3. Another thing they really need to improve their judgment on is what actually constitutes a catchable ball.
  4. I guess if the definition of rookie has changed since I last looked, you may have a valid point. I'll look into it.
  5. Siddall is Canadian (Winnipegger, actually) and Morris is American. PS Tracey is not a rookie.
  6. Funny because he'd be one of my examples of why Howell wasn't a good coach. Maybe I need to reconsider.
  7. As per official Bomber Twitter. Well ... I am underwhelmed heavily by us retaining Howell. Yet ANOTHER Canadian though. Hopefully I've just been wrong about his performance as a coach and a good QB will make it clear that he is capable of doing the job.
  8. They're trying to drum up any interest they can. Wouldn't be surprised if they have a presser for Brendan Dunn where he comes out and rips his shirt off before motioning to the crowd for them to get loud.
  9. I agree, you turn it into a 15 yard penalty and you'll see defensive backs taking guys down when they get beat deep just to avoid the big play. The call of pass interference is supposed to be made when illegally preventing a guy from catching a ball he legitimately has a chance to catch. Why would the penalty be any less than the result of actually in fact making that catch.
  10. In other news ... O'Shea has requested league permission to wear these patches on our uniforms next year
  11. ... and BC. ... and Saskatchewan. ... and Edmonton. Come on DR CFL wake up.
  12. Jesus, you can sure tell CFL execs ended their vacation today.
  13. Getzlaf, Muamba, Laurent, Cornish, Harris But he's quite possibly 6.
  14. How would you like to burn me a copy in exchange for the ability to ban one member of your choice from not only this site, but the internet in general? Just kidding. How would you like to burn me a copy in exchange for nothing of any value whatsoever other than the cost of postage and a blank DVD?
  15. Not a knock on Mulumba, but as a NFL regular he's got a lot of work to do. He's an aggressive raw pass rusher and he'll make plays from time to time that make you go "WOW" but if you're watching the line of scrimmage to see who ISN'T doing their job, most of the time it was Mulumba unless he was blowing somebody up in the backfield. A lot of the read option San Francisco ran with Kaepernick was making Mulumba look like an absolute victim out there. He hasn't quite got that ability to predict the play down yet.
  16. He was and still is a great ST coordinator. Probably the best one in the league. But the second best one is our head coach. So losing him isn't a huge hit and given the choice, I'd rather take Wylie. Would I want both of them? Obviously. But I'm not expecting to get that.
  17. Same. O'Shea and Dickenson do seem to have similar styles though, I think they could compliment eachother well. I honestly can't see Edmonton outbidding us for Wylie if they go with McAdoo as OC. They'll already have a good solid OL guy.
  18. The report wasn't really that we're competing for Dickenson. The blurb (by Rod Pedersen, mind you) said it seemed like a foregone conclusion that Dickenson was gone to Edmonton but he could always return to Winnipeg. I guess it's left up to interpretation, but I don't really expect Dickenson to stay. My prediction is that we'll get Wylie and lose Craig.
  19. Bingo. Everyone complains about leaks from inside the organization, but other than things that have been leaked by agents or other sources around the league / general situations that can't be avoided (i.e. O'Shea being spotted in a hotel before he was officially named HC) the organization has been tight lipped since Wade Miller took over.
  20. The most recent example that was made public was Jim Barker, but that was just as much to blame on a leak within the club as it was the media. There was a name that turned down an interview when we ultimately hired LaPolice, but I can't remember who it was at the moment. I want to say Milanovich, but I could be wrong.
  21. What? He wouldn't want to give that all up to come back to Winnipeg and face the idiot Winnipeg media on a daily basis? Who wouldn't want that? A chance to be grilled by the indomitable intellect of Paul Friesen every day? Sounds much better than a beach. It's a sad but true statement about the media. Our media and their ... lack of general intellect has dissuaded a coach from coming here before and it will again. Guys like Friesen are not good for the city or the club.
  22. Hey you're putting in the effort to defend an indefensible position, you can try and back track and say it's not bitterness over the guy thumbing his nose at the Bombers but it's not flying with anyone cause we all know your reactions better than that.Welp since this has clearly reached the "i know you are but what am i" stage of bomber forum "discussions" im just gonna leave it as is.. Happy New Years guys and heres to Marcels offenses shredding calgarys defense in 2014 Yes, the Shotgun Draw will leave that Stamps D stymied for days. You DID watch the grey cup, right? Cuz it pretty much did. I'm confused. Neither Stubler, not the Stampeders, were in the Grey Cup.
  23. It's not a matter of agreeing or disagreeing. It's just a matter of the facts.
  24. The thing about Jones is true. Calgary was the only city that offered him an opportunity to obtain work in his field as part of a co-op program to tide him over until medical school. And no, I'm not getting a link because I don't feel like playing internet detective today.
