    I would take Burris over Collaros any day at this point. At least he has had more than 1 year experience.

     

    We have been relying on a whole bunch of QB's that have Potential and looked decent on other teams. But Potential and $2 gets you a cup of coffee. Look at what happened to Reilly when he went to Edmonton. He had potential and did not do much better than the Bombers last season with it on a new team.

     

    And it had nothing to do with him. Reilly was a breakthrough star last year, it's just unfortunate that he was insulated by the absolute turd of a team around him.

    i'm afraid if we drive the money up we have not enough left to bid for Muamba.

     

    The salary cap is almost 5 million, not 500,000.

     

    Why is there this constant notion on Bomber message boards that the Bombers can not afford more than one good player? I don't understand.

     

    It's all speculation Mike. It's not that we can't afford more than one good player, but we are also paying good money to a chunk of mediocre players too.  We'd probably be very surprised to see what some of the players on our team are making.  

     

    Everyone has their idea of where we are at in terms of cap space.

     

     

    There's not an "idea" of where we are at in terms of cap space right now. Other than bonus money paid this year so far, we have 100% of our cap space.

    If Walters could pull off Burris AND Willy, I will be very impressed.

     

    Instant QB upgrade this year (Henry's last) and a very promising young guy getting reps. 

     

    If we can Henoc too, even better, though I can't wait to see Etchasketch playing him at rush end. 

    Rush end? He's a natural safety in Etch's twisted defense.

     

     

    Don't be silly, our safety spot in Etch's defense was firmed up the moment we extended Bryant Turner.

    This is a totally random source but hey, here it goes.

     

    Henry Burris is going to decide where he'll play next year by the end of the day today. It's either Winnipeg or Ottawa, so in all reality, it's Winnipeg. He's already been told he's being released, just paperwork needs to get sent to the league to make it official.

     

    The source is the cheerleader that he hits on every time he comes to Winnipeg. :lol:

    Right. "Hits on".

     

     

    I can't throw her under the bus too much now, come on. Use your imagination.

So much for no tampering in the CFL, Winnipeg and Ottawa have already both talked to him? What a shock. ;)

    By signing Willy first though he may see it as an opportunity to start. Burris could always be signed by Montreal as a backup. Isn't Marsh a FA as well?

     

    I suppose maybe you could trick Willy into that if he was deaf, dumb and blind.

     

    Anyone who is in touch with the CFL knows Burris is going to be our starter this year. You can pitch Willy on his role of being able to have a quicker path to a starting job than in other places, including Saskatchewan but you're not going to trick him into thinking he's being given a serious chance to take our starting job out of camp.

    How come?

     

    Not suggesting every QB thinks the same, but we didn't lose out on Collaros from a lack of effort or lack of ability to offer a better role than other teams. We lost out on Collaros because our reputation as a franchise is in the shitter. I can't say I blame Collaros, I wouldn't have come here either if I was him. And I wouldn't come here if I was Drew Willy.

     

    I'd take the safe bet and follow Khari to BC.

    I just don't understand the logic.

     

    Isn't it ironic that we got beat out for Collaros by the team that needed him because the guy working for us couldn't do the job he needs to do for us, for them?

     

    as in ... Collaros went to Hamilton because Danny Mac didn't find a prospect worth considering as a starter. And now we're going to count on him to find us a prospect worth considering as a starter.
