  1. I'm starting to wonder if Ford comes off for Woods. We have Woodson and Volny anyways. I wouldn't have expected it this week though, can't stick a guy on the roster with less than a week under his belt unless absolutely necessary.
  2. He needs some chapstick.
  3. I think the fact that we have such a solid defense is going to really force the team's hand. If it was maybe a case where the whole team stunk, the team wouldn't have much pressure coming home to perform well. But fans are able to recognize that with even average quarterbacking, this team could be very good. If Buck Pierce stinks out IG Field over the next two weeks, I have no doubt the boobirds will be out in full force.
  4. The only reason to play Buck at this point is to protect Goltz and/or Hall. He offers nothing over and above what they can bring to the table right now. Experience? What difference does experience make when you don't apply any of it to what you do on the field? I watched several replays last night of Buck Pierce getting sacked where you can see him lock onto his initial read and not look at a single thing afterwards, including the defender coming to hit him. Veteran leadership? All he's doing at this point is frustrating our team, at least that's the vibe I get. Our defense must be getting tired of playing the entire second half. Our receivers must be getting tired of seeing balls sail way over their head or off to the side. At one point yesterday, his poor throw forced Isaac Anderson to make a sliding catch over the middle and if he had somehow miraculously been on the mark, Anderson probably turns it upfield for a big gain. Even the throws he completes at this point are awful. Go back and look at the tape. 26 yard completion to Matthews? Awful throw. The huge completion to Etienne on the pump and go? Terrible throw. They're completions, but the balls are not well thrown by any stretch. He is simply a god awful QB at this point. Even when he goes an entire game without turning the ball over, he's horrible. He's finding new ways to be horrible every week and I'm just tired of it.
  5. They definitely rushed Inman back too soon.
  6. Kickoff is 5:30 tomorrow but today's Friday so why the hell not Speaking of Hamilton's defense ...
  7. Really? You can tell how closely I've watched BC this year. But I agree, Willis is one dimensional but that one dimension is top notch.
  8. http://cfl.uploads.mrx.ca/ham/downloads/downloads/2013/07/ticatsdepth-july132013075446.pdf Here is Hamilton's depth chart. Changes: Brown starts at CB for Bucknor Harris starts at LB for Parks O'Neill starts at RG for Wojt, who shifts over to RT to replace Ingersoll Walker starts at RB for Gable Marshall starts at DE for Scott Interesting that they're starting a 290 pound defensive end and I'm sort of surprised Norwood stayed on the roster after last week.
  9. http://cfl.uploads.mrx.ca/wpg/pdf/depth/2013/DEPTH073527.pdf As I alluded to and guessed we might see, Jake Thomas starts at DT giving us 8 Canadians. Dexter Davis changes numbers from 56 to 45 and goes on the 42-man roster as a DI replacing Freddie Harris. What I can't figure out yet is the 4-man. We're going to be running 4 designated imports instead of 3 and obviously the first 3 are Markett, Ford and Davis but is the last one Woods or Doug Pierce? EDIT: nevermind, obviously the 4th one is Frazier. duh
  10. Roll Up The Rim To Wynne.
  11. I won't say top 3 DE but I'll certainly say top 3 pass rusher. I'd say the top 3 DE in the league right now are Bowman, Williams and Hall in no particular order. I'd say the top 3 pass rushers are Williams, Hall and Willis. With Bowman and darkhorse Kenny Mainor rounding out the top 5. Marcus Howard gets in the discussion as well if we're talking pure pass rush.
  12. That's what the closed captioning guy calls him
  13. Because Pierce is our QB and I feel it's a major issue he has. I won't discuss Glenn because he's not on our team and while you can speculate that he would have the same struggles based on history, there's no doubt in my mind Glenn is a better fit for our offense with his quick release and I feel like he would perform better. Maybe I'm wrong, but there's no point arguing about it.
  14. Totally agree. Walker is gone if he finds open space. The bright side is that he's not very good at finding open space.
  15. Pierce is absolutely a liability at this point. If we ever give up a fourth quarter lead, do we REALLY think that Pierce is going to win for us? I have no faith that he can, I have more faith that he'll do what he needs to do to blow a fourth quarter lead. It's sad but it's reality
  16. Saskatchewan looks good. Sheets is an absolute force out there right now. I'm not expecting them to maintain this level of domination but they look like a real well oiled machine right now.
  17. Tough to say that when Pierce has had the backing of a much stronger defense than Glenn.
  18. Knowing our luck, they'll dress one of the Box J Boys and he'll scramble for 200 yards on the ground.
  19. Glenn may not be a fantastic QB at this point in his career but man would he ever be an upgrade to Pierce in this particular offense.
  20. a. I'm not going to look at all-star recognition for offensive linemen because the voters base their votes almost entirely on reputation. you think a beat reporter has time to grade out offensive lineman? sadly, I do and even with my extremely limited knowledge, it was obvious that Labatte had a down year b. go ask the Rider community what they thought of Labatte's performance last year. c. I won't knock his run blocking because he was great at it last year and always has been, but his pass protection left a LOT to be desired last year.
