Hoping that the roster stuff doesn't bite us in the backside...whole thing is playing into the " oldest team in the league" discussion. I'm sure Walters and Osh have a plan, as scary as it may be for us fans.
No doubt they have a plan, I just don’t really think it’s a very good one.

Question... Is it MOS or Walters to blame for our roster management? I know they work together but shouldn't Walters be bringing in a murder of DEs?
We got rid of all of them

Apparently that comes at a cost Walters is not willing to pay, they must think Haba and Bennett are the solution.
What does that even mean? What cost? The cost of a minimum salary rookie? Nobody is saying go get Lemon as the end all be all. We’re saying put a ******* edge rusher on the practice roster in place of one of the redundant 36 global so we’re actually prepared.

I think once Lawson returns the D-line will rebalance itself, current injuries are causing a temporary shuffling of the deck.
So once Lawson comes back, we can replace Fox with a DE we currently don’t have signed?

Don't worry. We rostered a DT to replace him who's been here for 5 minutes. It matches perfectly with our new starter, who's been here for almost two weeks.
This is what frustrates me the most. People are going to say I’m overreacting, it’s just Saskatchewan, whatever. All of that might be true but I’m not worried about the result. I’m frustrated by the process.
There’s absolutely no realistic way that anyone can tell me with a straight face that replacing our all-star edge rusher with a guy we signed off the street 4 days ago who plays an entirely different position is what our staff drew up as a solid plan.
Oldest defence in the league and we’re using our extra American spots on a ******* fullback, kicker and defensive tackle. Ridiculous.

I know it’s just a preliminary injury report, but stuff like this is exactly why I hate how we manage our roster/practice roster.
Let’s just say Schoen, Oliviera and Jeffcoat can’t go (which I’m sure they can.) Who is taking their spots on the roster? Probably Miles Fox, Amare Jones and/or Greg McCrae? Or do we retry the failed Janarion on offense experiment? So positionally, we have no equivalent replacement for any of these guys.

Soo lame that they didn’t have this change over figured out in the preseason or before.
I look forward to possibly having greatly enhanced stat access, but they need to sort this junk out fast.Everything the league does from a technology standpoint is beyond incompetent.
Their website is atrociously over complicated, the stat tracking should’ve been figured out months ago, even this “CFL Game Zone” thing they did this year is just a more convoluted, less accessible way to run the same pick ‘em games they ran last year. It’s embarrassing.

It pains me to agree with this statement... because Jeffcoat is such a meaningful player... but at some point, that loses meaning when you can only rely on him for 6-8 games a season
I don’t think we need to move on, but what we really need to do is consider the idea of deploying him as that 23 snap a game Canadian.

I like Muhammad but I’m really getting tired of our PR being a revolving door because guys rarely get an opportunity

The one for me that I’m keeping an eye on is if we scratch Haba or Cole tonight. It needs to be Cole.

Just my two cents, but I'd like to see how this actually plays out before folks start jumping all over Osh. Dude's been to three straight Grey Cups but suddenly his roster management is poor. He certainly has his faults and definitely has and will make mistakes - including with the roster - but I want to see how this actually is deployed first.
He is going to do what's best for the team. I am skeptical he would just skip over a possible advantage just for the hell of it.
It’s not suddenly. I’ve been annoyed by it for years. Everyone thinks O’Shea is still the same rulebook wizard always gaming the system trying to find an advantage, still the same guy who was busting out trick plays, still the same guy who will do anything to get one up on the other team on gameday.
He hasn’t been that guy for years. O’Shea is an amazing head coach and he’s going to have a spot in the Ring of Honour, Hall of Fame, statue out front, etc when it’s all said and done but his actual game day management has been questionable for a few years. But I get it. I don’t always love it, but I get where he’s coming from. I just wish he could find a balance. I understand the importance of making Tanner Cadwallader feel like he’s just as valuable to a winning roster as Willie Jefferson, but there is importance in putting a guy on your roster who is better than Tanner Cadwallader as well.
59 minutes ago, Noeller said:In terms of roster layout.... I'm curious how much input Hall and Pierce have.... Like we put all the blame on Osh, and that's fine... But I wonder if it's all him.
You think the offensive and defensive coordinators are telling O’Shea they want less skill position players in the lineup in lieu of special teams crash test dummies?

Please identify when and in what way his roster management has cost us a game in the last few years. And sitting Collaros in a late season loss to rest up for the playoffs does not count. Neither does simply having Liegghio as our kicker count as “roster management”.
Please identify where I said it has. I said at some point, it is going to in the future. It’s almost inevitable.

One saying they expected nothing less from Osh and implying we win in spite of him is not constructive criticism. It's frankly just stupid and moronic.
I mean is saying they expected nothing less of MOS when they were right really all that moronic?
That being said, no we do not win in spite of him. But his roster management IS piss poor and it’s likely going to come back to bite us at some point.

Lawson out hurts. Hate that Schmekel is rotating in. MOS should have dropped Cole and brought in C. Thomas instead. Start C.Thomas with Walker as the designated national.
Walker can’t be a designated National, but what they could’ve done is started Haba, DA’d Jeffcoat and then rotated in Caleb Thomas 23 snaps for Jake Thomas.
