  1. Anyone who thinks JA is the answer should see how Tony Pollard did for Dallas this year
  2. You probably missed a whole episode of Matlock typing that all up, you old fart (just kidding)
  3. And yeah, just to touch on something earlier - the people who are mad at Brady are nuts. Do you guys go to your jobs and work for less money voluntarily? Of course the guy wants to maximize his earnings. Just like literally the entire world. Get over it.
  4. The thing people need to remember about a Canadian running back is that they are so few and far between that committing to one as a ratio breaker means you also have to invest the capital in a capable backup as well. Johnny Augustine made 90k last year, probably close to the going rate unless you find a good rookie. Is there a team that is going to invest 300k into a RB1/2? If there is, I hope it’s not us. (obviously you could flip your ratio or dress more than the required amount of Canadians but there’s a cost to that as well)
  5. Brady may learn that there isn’t as much money to be out there as he thinks. RB isn’t much different here compared to the NFL with regards to how replaceable they are. Wearing a Winnipeg jersey has just as much value to Brady as it does to the Bombers and I’m sure his agent will remind him of that. All his charitable causes get a big boost in awareness and visibility because he’s in town.
  6. None of your math makes sense either. people forget the roster spot has to be filled anyways
  7. Not surprised at all that Bryant took a pay cut. They’re letting the players spin this as a sign of goodwill but the reality is he earned a pay cut.
  8. Why would you think it would piss other players off?
  9. I’m optimistic that we’re not going to be bringing back ALL the vets. A welcome step in the right direction would be to be saying goodbye to Bighill but I would imagine that isn’t likely, considering he almost definitely had a roster bonus on the 15th.
  10. I would imagine Lawler restructuring (which was filed with the league two days ago, only announced today) will lead to a move more consequential than Stanley coming back. I would assume we’ll hear Schoen is back before the end of the week.
  11. I think going into the season with an aging QB who hasn’t looked good in fall weather in four years is gambling at the QB position as much as anything.
  12. Streveler in negotiations to return to the CFL and the Bombers appear to be the front runners, as per Jeff Hamilton
  13. JC Abbott has never met a Canadian prospect whose farts he didn’t love the smell of
  14. Do you know what the word “likely” means?
  15. I don’t know why people think this is an either or situation with Brady and Schoen. Why do people think we’re going to be SO tight to the cap? We pay Collaros and Lawler premiums for their position and other than that, we probably don’t have anyone making top 3 money at their spot. MAYBE Nichols? Willie/Jeffcoat/Alexander/Bighill/Bryant/Hardrick/Neufeld are the “big” veteran earners and at this point, their deals should be getting cheaper every year not more expensive. Not to mention there’s the very obvious need to get a bit younger and faster next year, I’m sure the only way we’re going to be in a position to make a cap crunch work is if we somehow miraculously get Dru Brown back.
  16. Iso has been a grumpy old man for 87 years now. I like the consistency, this place would be weird without it.
  17. I wouldn’t say Cadwallader is a player on the rise. He’s a high quality special teams tackling crash test dummy. That’s about it.
  18. Do you want a great QB for two years? or do you want a potentially great QB for 8-10 years? in a perfect world, we sign Dru anyways but I can’t see that happening. MAYBE if you do something like take a huge risk, sign him to a 3 year deal where you pay him something like 200/200/500 and guarantee as much of the third year as you can, but I don’t think we can pull that off. You’d have to sell him that this is the best place for him and look what has happened to other players who have left in search of the cash, I just don’t see it. Ottawa will give him the bag.
  19. I thought Kramdi was a stud by the end of the year and I also thought he was a near lock to head home to Montreal so colour me super happy with this one
