  1. There’s a difference between talking about a guy who runs a 4.86 40 who returned kicks in a Canadian junior football league and a guy like Lawler (who actually ran a 4.64) who competed at the D1 level successfully. The athleticism isn’t even comparable.

4.86 as a receiver or returner is … bad. No matter how you try and shape or frame it, that’s not good speed.

To put it into perspective … he runs a closer 40 yard time to Liam Dobson than he does to Janarion Grant.

We need to go back to the true whites without that blue shoulder color...those were sweet away unis

Amen. I hate the blue shoulders, it’s the only thing I would change on our uniforms other than maybe just thinning out the number set a tiny, tiny sliver.

he would be an extreme long shot to make the team as a wr... but what about the possibility of being a special teamer?... no one is unseating Janarion just yet but wasn't MOS Jr a dynamic returner in the BC jr league?

He’s nowhere near fast enough to be a returner in this league. To put his athleticism into perspective, his 40 time would’ve been dead last at the NFL combine for receivers by almost .2 seconds. Would’ve only beat one tight end. No linebackers. No corners. No safeties. Even the punter who ran the 40 this year was faster than him.

I trust the judgement of our management. They've more than earned the benefit of the doubt.

For all we know, it could be a gentleman's agreement between the Osh's to let him get some game play on film in the preseason and hope another team takes a chance on him after cut-down day.

Could be a million things, even an opportunity to try him out and see if he can contribute as a special teams guy.

The one thing I really doubt is that it’s a legitimate chance to make the club as a receiver.

  4. Barrington Wade is one name off our neg list I’m very happy to see us sign

Just come out and say you'd cut rose... because other than him it's only Alexander that is not young.

I didn’t say I would cut Rose. I said I wonder if they’ll consider getting younger. Darby is an option too. They’ve always got huge competition in camp for DBs, so you never know.

Everybody thinks they're experts on the Draft. These are all unknowns. Selecting them is a dice throw in a crap shoot. We know the Bombers & other teams have done their due dilligence but John Hodge?

It’s really all about team fit too. That gets talked about nowhere near enough as it relates to the CFL Draft.

Wow!!! Why do you watch, then? Still waiting for your Mock Draft.

    😂 touch grass

There’s nothing wrong with saying this is a poor draft class. So many factors and circumstances, not the least of which is that the Canadian talent is getting better and better so the NFL is taking the best.

We’re largely being left this year with undersized players, average-ish NCAA talent that turned out to be Canadian on a technicality and project players. Not to say that nothing can be made of this class of picks, but it lacks the top end talent we’ve seen in past drafts.

Even if Mike wants to play the Debbie Downer card (you really should leave that up to the pros, bro...) I'm choosing to be excited about the draft tonight. If nothing else, it means we're that much closer to camp starting and it gives us something legitimate to talk about tonight, and for the next week. Next Weds is Rookie Camp and next Sunday is Main Camp. We're almost there!!

Why is it being a Debbie downer to say this is a poor draft class? It is. It’s a step below the usual tier for the reasons JBR stated.

Are there players that can help us? Sure. But I don’t see many starters in this draft unless it’s after 2-3 years of development.

Karl Schmitz bounced around the NFL after being spotted on Youtube kicking a 70 yard field goal. His age isn't that big a deal to me for this season. What else do we expect from a low second round global pick. The fact that we got someone who might help us in some way at that slot is notable. I was thinking maybe we would snag an NFL bound global at that pick.

You love to make every move the Bombers make sound amazing, don’t you? Lol

This is legitimately a nothing transaction. I would be shocked if this guy even came to camp. This draft has basically become a giant waste of time, you can tell how seriously teams take it given that it took less than 20 minutes from start to finish for 18 picks. There was one guy in this talent pool who has a legitimate chance and legitimate interest in the CFL and he went first overall.
