  1. Noeller is going to call it “issues with the ownership”, but I’m going to call it “I find their hygiene practices absolutely gross and I don’t much care for an owner who gets drunk and berates customers” If you want a beer that hasn’t been treated comparably to a burger scraped off the bathroom floor at McDonalds, I’d recommend going to Brazen Hall (great food as well), the Forks or Sookram’s (my personal recommendation) if you’re looking for a spot somewhat on the way to the stadium. Devil May Care by the Forks is also sort of close to Pembina, I suppose, and they do cool stuff too. Cibo and the Pump House, although Cibo has been known to struggle with dirty tap lines. I love their food though.
  2. You'd be better off drinking out of the toilets at the stadium.
  3. The oars should’ve been dark blue and I don’t mind them but it also just reeks of New Era attempting to make a foray into the Oregon-style jersey market. That colour blue is never a good look and they remind me of the Titans jerseys with that number font. Overall, too try hardish for me.
  4. Amare Jones seems like a more developed version of Greg Mccrae
  5. I feel like this is a good time to remind people that Matt Cole was a receiver before coming here
  6. Thank you for this. Legitimately the only guy locally who bothers to provide us with any of this kind of stuff and it’s very much appreciated.
  7. This is ridiculous. You’ve been on this bandwagon forever and I really just don’t get it. Nobody’s asking anyone to be a football scout, the pass you keep giving guys for being lazy is crazy. It is not difficult to go to a training camp session and share what your eyes tell you. “Player A seems to be splitting reps in the slot and at wideout, whereas player B is only getting reps in the slot”, “Player C is returning kicks and working with the defensive secondary”, “Player D is taking reps at halfback and the SAM LB spot”, “Player E seems to be having lots of drops, whereas player F catches everything thrown his way”, “Player G looks to be struggling to win his 1 on 1 battles in the trenches”, “Player H has burned longtime starter Z in a few battles today” I’m not looking for an in-depth grading on how they perform in pass pro broken down with film to support their thoughts, I’m looking to see some consideration that they’re going there to REPORT, not play pattycake with their buddies on a sunny day.
  8. If I’ve learned anything this season, it’s that our local Bombers media has no idea what makes fans happy
  9. I don’t know why everyone is ragging on Mitchell. He very well could do it. I know they went big on Geno but Mitchell paced out to about 1300 yards last year over a full season and spent time in the O with Lawler. Very good receiver.
  10. Ok can you explain it to me and only me then please
  11. Am I the only one who has no idea what to expect regarding our roster this year because of all the new rules regarding Canadian eligibility? Lol
  12. Kyrie Wilson to the 6-game lol there’s a shocker. Hopefully it’s just a paper move but honestly, I think this might be it for him.
  13. This is also kind of the **** I’m talking about … as per CFL aka he read the transactions page. But what’s the story behind this? Is it a paper move because they don’t want to 6-game him? Are they planning to bring him back? Is he just not in the plans? Is he retiring? Low effort. Seems like all you need to report on the CFL these days is to just browse their website and be able to say you went to a practice.
  14. Dwayne Slay is one of those weird ones that still doesn’t make any sense. He was the Big 12 DPOTY in 2005, was a projected first rounder then goes undrafted after absolutely tanking the combine and gets cut by Arena league teams and the Bombers all within a year. I remember I thought Kenny Randall was going to make it last year. Wade is definitely my pick this year, but I’m thinking this new DT we signed yesterday has a good shot too.
  15. But the question is what reasons could there possibly be lol
  16. Genuine question: what on earth do you think we’re being ignorant about? You think there’s a conspiracy within the organization to force our reporters to use their media credentials for socializing instead of reporting? You think the club is limiting their ability to ask thought-provoking questions? Or that the front office is so paranoid that they don’t want hard-hitting information about who took the most practice reps in rookie camp being released to the general public?
  17. Like seriously, listen to Paul Friesen during yesterday’s press conference. Listen to the first two questions he asks - “what did you see?”, “how much did the intensity pick up with pads on?” … if you’re getting paid to attend practice and cover it, shouldn’t you have these answers already? And be asking meaningful questions based on YOUR observations? I’d like to hear somebody in the position to tell their side of things have a go at it so here we go @DTonOB
  18. I don’t even need in-depth coverage. We don’t have coverage of any kind. We get coverage of personal interest stories, but absolutely nothing related to actual camp sessions whatsoever. You’ll notice O’Shea gets asked the biggest softball questions in the press conference because anyone covering the team just goes there to socialize with the other “reporters” and they generally have zero clue as to what happened during the on-field session. So when he fields questions, there’s no substance to them because they have no idea what to ask about.
  19. Then you’re reading the wrong coverage. I see all of that, but I source articles of interest off Reddit and read The Athletic and there is tons of in-depth analysis
  20. Just to add to what I wrote earlier, I just read the Bills rookie camp write up on The Athletic Joe Buscaglia talks about where the 2nd round pick OL they drafted is lining up, he talks about the length of their rookie linebackers compared to some already rostered players, he talks about which rookies are participating and look to be competing on special teams drills in addition to their positional drills, he talks about where in the formations notable rookie receivers are lining up, the coverage is a million times better almost to the point where the only fault is that there’s TOO much (no, I don’t care that Dalton Kincaid dropped one pass in practice) information being thrown out. Bombers reports seem to be the exact opposite
  21. We literally have a player who didn’t show up to camp and nobody has reported on why/if he will show up. The coverage has been pathetic unless your main interest is on puff pieces and player backstories. I’d personally like to know who is lining up where, who is taking looks at extra positions, that kind of stuff except the issue is nobody that covers the team knows what they’re watching. All we know after 3 days of rookie camp is that Deuce Wallace had an interception and O’Shea Jr caught a pass. I know the ability to report on rookie camp is limited but it’s been like this for probably 3-4 training camps in a row now. Ever since Ed Tait became a Bomber employee, basically.
  22. That’s all they ever report on these days. Being there and telling us they’re there is more important than us learning anything.
  23. There’s a difference between talking about a guy who runs a 4.86 40 who returned kicks in a Canadian junior football league and a guy like Lawler (who actually ran a 4.64) who competed at the D1 level successfully. The athleticism isn’t even comparable. 4.86 as a receiver or returner is … bad. No matter how you try and shape or frame it, that’s not good speed. To put it into perspective … he runs a closer 40 yard time to Liam Dobson than he does to Janarion Grant.
