  1. Roster lists Cooper as a DB, Derek Taylor says he’s a DE and to me, it’s pretty obvious he’s a candidate to play WIL for us at 6’3” / 225 with OLB experience in college but I guess they like him at DE too since Hansen is hurt and Wilcots appears to be coming off.

It looks like the transaction report lists them putting Hassell and Cooper on the active roster … Thompson coming off tells me that’s a Canadian going on elsewhere which I’m hoping is Couture. Wondering where Hassell goes unless they REALLY like him enough to play him at safety.

Very curious to see the depth chart tomorrow now.

  2. I’ll be very honest, I’m not on board with the “he’s just a crappy player” thing. Until the distractions got in the way, he was a pretty effective run-stopper in the middle who was commanding double teams fairly regularly. Not a big numbers guy but what he was doing freed up guys like Leonard, Robertson, etc

Cutting him definitely makes the Riders worse.

I’m going to play a fun game. I haven’t read RF yet so I’m going to predict who I think is acting like a drooling bozo before I go over there and have a look.

let me guess. Rileysrompers, bioben, maybe RDavidson hopping in making a bunch of weird comments full of puns … how far into the thread will someone make a “scared of Garrett Marino?” comment

  5. July 9th: Duke Williams discussing the Marino play on Masoli: “I’m going to tell him right from wrong because that’s my job”

July 16th: Duke Williams appears to throw helmet at Shaquille Richardson during warmups for 2022 Touchdown Atlantic game, also accused of spitting on Richardson

August 18th: Duke Williams fined for going into the stands to celebrate a touchdown

September 4th: Duke Williams penalized while not even in uniform, potentially costs his team a win

seems like someone needs to sit down with Duke and discuss his job responsibilities again

  6. “Ugh guys I’m worried, I allow them to be racist, spit on people, swing helmets at opponents, keep their spot in the starting lineup for months no matter how many penalties they take, refuse to take post-game drug tests, pass out in their cars on Ring Road and cry about fans being mean to them on social media but I feel like they won’t think I have their backs unless I waste my challenge flag!”

It feels like the defence is getting by more on reputation than actual performance as of late .. symptom of a depleted team for sure but I don't have the same confidence that this unit can shut the door like they have in the past.  We have holes on all three levels of that defence.  Hoping to see a stronger, more dominant performance at home.

Getting Couture back this week would be huge and hopefully his helps us establish a running game early.  Brady struggled a bit last game.  Saw a little of the dancing that made him ineffective early in the year but Saskatchewan also played the run well.

I agree to an extent, but the halftime adjustments have still been excellent for us. Our first half D (especially first Q) has been absolutely nothing to write home about.

I’m holding out hope that we can maybe find ourselves some kind of WIL from the NFL cuts because we really do not need to be trotting out guys like Briggs, Clements or Gauthier no matter how much heart and soul they bring. Wouldn’t mind seeing more push from the interior DL either.

  8. I genuinely get such a warm and fuzzy feeling out of reading the garbage on RF about how the refs are biased, the Bombers are lucky, etc.

It’s staring them right in the face. Their team is poorly coached and ours is coached by the best staff in the league. Look at the leadership in their locker room. You’ve got Fajardo who has gotta be the biggest crybaby in the league, Duke Williams who claims to be a leader but is a hinderance to their success whether he’s in uniform or not, even Shaq Evans who has been back one game and already goes on social media complaining about the legitimacy of maybe the most obvious OPI call I’ve seen all year. That’s who these young rookies have in their room that they can look up to? Coupled with a coaching staff that lets them do whatever they want? Good luck.

The Riders genuinely do have talent in that room, but it’s mostly a bunch of bonehead idiots who are given far too long of a leash by Dickenson. Feel bad for the guys like Sankey, Dean, KSB who are having valuable years wasted playing alongside the rest of that circus. Oh well.

I mean they can only practice in pads 12 times per season.  They have cracked down pretty hard on "tourist" hits not even that far away from the ball.  Think in this era they need to call that kind of stuff...otherwise we're all gonna have Jamie Newman's starting.

I hate the hit but I’m trying to be realistic about it and I feel like if Willie did that to Fajardo we’d be upset with a flag.

    But I see both sides
