  1. Sayles and Rios were on entry deals - technically costs us 22k in 2020 to replace them and I’d be surprised if Roh, Gaitor and Nevis were making more than 100k (believe it was reported than Nevis was about 90k) Kongbo, Rose and Derek Jones probably gave us some savings. Would imagine Johnson took Fenner’s salary.
  2. We also lost hardly anybody. Hamilton lost quite a few pieces. We lost a backup QB, a first round draft pick salary and a corner in terms of significant costs. And don’t forget, even teams with first rounders this year don’t have to budget for those. They’re league minimum now.
  3. Yeah I mean Medlock at 180k or whatever it is + 65k minimum is still more expensive than 120k each on a punter and kicker and if you’re paying that much for both ... why?
  4. Part of me wants to just hope this is the year we FINALLY find a stud American receiver to roll out next to Adams and Lawler. Can we really go this long without finding one?
  5. Could be, the tweets are always speculative at best anyways.
  6. I can’t see Josh Johnson making less than 100k. Despite him not being known to us as a familiar name guy, he’s a big ticket player ... veteran who’s spent time in the NFL and played well in the CFL. I think most of us would be uncomfortable with what he’s getting paid. Harris being a value for what he provides still doesn’t discount that he’s making over 200k. We have two of the five most expensive defensive players in the league, including the most expensive. Our OL has to be the highest paid in the league. I do agree we have money, but we’ve spent in a lot of places people forget about.
  7. He was making 200k last year, according to literally every source I’ve seen. Where is the 165k number coming from?
  8. I dunno, I just think we’re overstating how much money other teams spend and understating how much we spend. Look at the line of thinking: “Wilson on his second deal .. maybe 100k, Howsare on his second deal ... at least 100-120k” ... what’s the difference in these two guys? Not everyone is taking a haircut to be here.
  9. You’re suggesting Bryant took a 20% pay cut to come back this season?
  10. Demski made $150,000 in his first year here and then re-signed after a solid season. No way.
  11. 90, 85, league minimum (Mike Jones?), 130, 75, 120 American salaries are tough for sure. Also forget what contract Wilson is on.
  12. Yeah, I’d personally be quite surprised if either one of Couture or Neufeld were under 160k, same reason Woli and Demski get paid around the same - Canadian starters who fit your system get PAID. I personally would assume Miller and Rempel, as high level specialists, make between 100k-125k each. Lots of sneaky money on our roster, not to mention 5.3 (or whatever the number is) may be the cap but it’s not what the Bombers spend. They’ve always been conservative in holding back for potential injury situations
  13. I’m curious, because I want to see where people come in on these things? What do you think Neufeld, Mike Miller, Jake Thomas, Rempel and Jesse Briggs make a piece?
  14. Yeah, I would imagine there’s some money to spend somewhere, but I still truly do believe quite a few of these guys are making a lot more than most people suspect.
  15. I forgot Medlock too. Don’t forget, Willie+Harris+Bryant probably take up 700k on their own. We’ve got some big ticket items on our roster.
  16. Does Hamilton really have more high salary players than we do? We’ve got a bunch of guys who are making around 150k or more ... Collaros, Harris, Adams, Wolitarsky, Demski, Bryant, Neufeld, Jefferson, Bighill ... we have a chunk of change invested in a lot of guys as well. Could see Couture, Jeffcoat in that range too.
  17. Posey and Levels to the Cats is a good day 2 for them.
  18. I’ve tried to remove his existence from my memory.
  19. I wanna say Montreal. I read yesterday he went somewhere
  20. Think CFL Headlines just copies and pastes the actual headline from articles ... but CFL_News is actually Rider_Stronson.
  21. It’s a weird cult mentality. So many people want to be in the know with alleged “insider” Rider_Stronson that they just start to emulate his personality in hopes that they’ll be noticed and allowed to sit at the cool kids table. RDavidson is one of the worst, he loves to play some kind of pseudo-insider role as if he knows anything about anything, when in reality he just likes to shove his nose as far up BSD and R_S’ asses as possible. I’ve posted on message boards online for various hobbies and interests for over 15 years and the only time I’ve ever encountered somebody less stable than the crew over there was when I had to deal with Nate.
  22. I honestly feel like the mental gymnastics those posters go through are just on a whole other level. Literally incapable of processing a thought other than “Riders amazing, Bombers bad” and it’s just so dumbfounding. I read comments about how we tied so much money up in Jefferson/Collaros ... as if that’s a bad thing. Should we not sign our best players? It’s like sometimes they forget you can pay players six figures without it being a crippling cap move. The average active roster salary is six figures for crying out loud. I feel bad for the few that CAN generate an intelligent thought who are stuck there in that cesspool. Like give me a break, I know fans are all homers to some degree but most of the people here are at least capable of appreciating a good move even for the Riders (Shaq Evans, as an example) but Jesus are they dense over there.
  23. I already saw a “if he sucks we just cut him so it’s a win win” as if that is how things work. “just sign everyone, if they suck, we’ll just cut them! It’s a cant lose!”
  24. BREAKING: #Riders sign Canadian OL Josiah St. John 3downnation.com/2020/02/12/202… #Saskatchewan #CFL #CFLFA hahahahaha I can’t wait to see them defend this.
