Choice comes down to Randle or Nichols as the only free-agent you could sign. Tough one...

Next question ... since it seems to be a theme around here

If the Grey Cup was being played in BC, Montreal or TO, Ottawa would be my pick. -
Absolutely why. The CFL doesn't have the money the other leagues do. It is still a fan driven, butts in the seats league so definitely the Commisioner has to be out there shaking hands & talking to everyone. Bettman & especially Goodell don't have to speak to anyone. Orridge should be at as many games as he can every weekend. Be on local radio & television talking it up all season long. He should be begging to do interviews. It takes a bit of time for someone new to adapt to the role and make it his own. I wouldn't be so concerned yet. He did this interview with Tim & Sid a couple of months ago, not sure if you saw it: http://www.sportsnet.ca/shows/tim-and-sid-show/cfl-commissioner-jeffrey-orridge-in-studio/

Saw the release of his most recent fine today, and just quickly looked back, and saw that he's been up there a lot in the second half of the season. Love the guys intensity and he's an all-star, but that's still a hit to the pocketbook. http://press.cfl.ca/player-discipline-week-18 Here are the other three: http://press.cfl.ca/player-discipline-week-10 http://press.cfl.ca/player-discipline-week-11 http://press.cfl.ca/player-discipline-week-14

The Next Step to Excitement: Change the Safety Touch

If missing a field goal can get you 1 point, what should hitting the upright be worth? I mean, that takes some serious skills... -
We've all debated before about how the first round bye for each divisional winner can be both a good thing and a potential bad thing. Are more teams better for it being well-rested and prepared, or does it hinder them because of the rest has converted rust? So far this season teams are 10-7 in the games following their bye-week. The likely scenario that will play out this year will be that Edmonton wins the west and has the first round bye. Couple that with their last regular season bye happening during the last week of the season, that will add up to 21 days between games. Edmonton has won 7 games in a row, and may win their 8th on Sunday facing Montreal. They are on a hot streak right now. Good thing or bad thing in this situation?

Grey Cup Halftime Show is Fall Out Boy

I'm gonna guess Arkells. Not Canadian. Check again. Edit: Or did you mean the band chosen isn't Canadian? In which case, you'd be forgiven. For clarity, I meant the chosen musician is not Canadian. Arkells certainly are. -

Heard it in the office today. Unofficial until announced, but actually quite surprised. -
That's all well & good but the team has to win. Can't expect any fan to keep supporting what we've seen on the field, especially since 2012. Or attract new ones, especially kids. Winning solves everything, naturally. This is about what's in our control that is targeting the younger demographic, which is what the thread is about, is it not?

This football club does a lot more than it ever has before in the community, at schools, different organizations with youths, player appearances, etc. We relaunched the Winnipeg Youth Football Club, going out to schools all over nearly everyday, running a new flag football program. Our partners donate thousands of tickets back to these schools and other organizations. For others, our family zone has 1/2 price tickets so that it's affordable for a family of 4 to come to a game. We have multiple fan events during the year where we encourage the kids to come out, use the various inflatables and meet the players. There are the BB Kids Club and the My First Bomber Game programs. The Flight Deck Program has bee huge and connects with amateur teams from all sports every home game. Not to mention, one of the biggest things that I wished we did when I was a kid: Having the field open after games for the fans to come and run around and toss some footballs and get pictures with Buzz & Boomer and a few of the players who always come out, win or lose. Winning football games obviously goes without saying and speeds things up, but It takes time to connect, and turn these kids into life long fans. To say the team isn't doing enough....well you're probably just not aware of how involved and concentrated we are here with this process and understanding how important it truly is. If anyone does have any other suggestions for other initiatives we can look at going forward, don't hesitate to let me know.

Fed Up Fan: $5 dollars to get rid of a ticket?
TrueBlue replied to sportmentary2012's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
I take back some of my criticisim of the guy because he has renewed his tickets for next season. However, he didn't have to embarass the club by posting this on Kijiji. I guess some might say they embarass themselves enough with their play! Why? It's his tickets, he can do what he wants with them. The Bombers have been absolutely terrible for years now - YEARS - save one 6 game stretch to start the season last year. To put it in another perspective - the Ottawa REDBLACKS are only in their second year and though I realize they are one Henry Burris injury away from the bottom of the league they are far and away better than us. Heck, we are starting to sign their cuts!!! What does that tell you. Personally, AFAIK, if you are buying your season tickets like this fellow is, you can do whatever you want. I actually APPLAUD him for doing what he's doing. Of course, most of you don't get it but this poster does. He's a true Blue Bomber fan - who's putting his money where his mouth is, and has probably exasperated every other option so for him this is his last resort - to try and shame the bombers into doing something. 25 years in a mostly 8, sometimes 9 team league, is unacceptable What does a message like this "shame" the Bombers into doing exactly? -
Blue Bombers extend contract of Jake Thomas
TrueBlue replied to TrueBlue's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Great teams can rely on their depth to fill the need in situations whenever needed. Thomas is a good depth guy to have. -
WINNIPEG, MB., October 22, 2015 – The Winnipeg Blue Bombers announce today the club has extended the contract of National defensive lineman Jake Thomas. Thomas is in his fourth season with Winnipeg, after being drafted in the fourth round, 29th overall, in the 2012 CFL Draft. Thomas has played 64 games with the Bombers, starting 19. He’s racked up 39 tackles, three special teams tackles, six sacks, and one fumble recovery. “Jake Thomas has been a solid contributor to this organization, both on and off the field, since he was first drafted,” said Blue Bombers General Manager Kyle Walters. “He is a versatile player who is willing to do whatever is needed to be successful. Jake’s a team first, selfless individual, and a great asset to this franchise.”

Just to be clear, we had an ineligible person win the 50/50 at the last game, which is why we have essentially carried the pot forward, and bumped it up a bit.

Someone will be walking away with a big pot this Saturday!

That is correct......When is the last 5-13 team to make the playoffs lol. *Sidenote: Mtl plays Sask last game of the season. I can see Mtl winning that one so we need to get one win in there! In 1993 and 1994 Ottawa had back to back 4-14 records and made the playoffs both times. That was before the crossover rule came into effect, however...
