Next: Who is going to FA, who is not .... Priorities
TrueBlue replied to BigBlue's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Can't see Jackson commanding that kind of coin. I'd be surprised if he got anything north of $175,00 and that's even a stretch. -
Winnipeg Outdoor Heritage Classic game could be postponed
TrueBlue replied to Rich's topic in Winnipeg Jets Discussion
I'm guessing their fans wouldn't be impressed if Grey Cup revenues fell millions short due to fans with limited resources choosing the hockey game over the football game, and would not be impressed if after 3 years of occupying a new stadium they had still not made a dent on the loan's principal. Moving the game back a few months likely solves the scheduling/revenue conflict; it just creates 2 additional costs: extended rental period for the temporary seats and extended period of time for snow clearing in the stadium. Miller doesn't want to bear those costs on his own. Seems fair. Why should he? So that's the divide right now. Work to close it. Or re-schedule to 2016. Either or. There's costs associated with rescheduling to the following season though too. Either the temp stands stay up the entire time until then, or they are taken down and then put up again. Either way there is that cost to consider with moving the game (amongst others) to the 2016-17 season. -

How much outrage would there have been if they just got the deal done like they were supposed to? The Bombers have a very negative public image in this city right now and they certainly don't need to make it any worse. I think this is a bit extreme. The image is all relative to what you're comparing it with and by whom. Major league vs. minor league here, there are supporters for both. It just so happens the woodwork is now filled with pro-Jets folk who would take a bullet for the team, and kick the slumping Bombers to the curb and call it a day. Correct. So the Bombers need to work harder now to keep fans than they did before. The Jets aren't leaving again anytime soon. The Bombers do indeed need to work harder to keep their fans. There's a compromise that can be made that can appease both sides, it just all depends on who is willing to concede what. All the backlash on Twitter? I wouldn't even bat an eyelash right now. I'm trusting the people involved are aware of the stakes. -

Well written article by James Mirtle, a very good hockey writer. http://www.theglobeandmail.com/sports/hockey/mirtle-yes-the-jets-are-the-real-deal/article22454806/

I would say average at best. That means with a healthy roster. The strength of our Canadian depth is hard to pinpoint because not one area stands out from the rest by any stretch. We have a couple of above-average players that have good games from time-to-time, but hardly anything that remains constant. We need to build through the draft and find some pickups like Picard (someone maybe who has plateaued) along the way that can still contribute. I like our scouting, and the angle that Walters takes at the draft, so I feel confident enough that using this system we can get regular above-average performance and depth from our Canadians in 2-3 years.

Some progressive rock fans here, but no mention of Pink Flloyd? "Shine On" has got to be one of the greatest pieces I have ever heard. Will never get sick of that song.

I'm good. Thanks for looking out for me though.

Edmonton/Pittsburgh Trade

Bogosian? No. Kane.... -

That would be a stretch for someone like him. His stock value is low-moderate right now, passport or not. He'd be a rotational player on most d-lines.

Hall most likely to be new DC (Now Official)
TrueBlue replied to Mr. Perfect's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
It would be a decent hiring. Hall has a natural way of gaining the respect of his players which goes hand in hand with getting the most out of them on the field. Something I think that Etch lacked. -
Stand Pat & Tweak or ... Make Real Changes
TrueBlue replied to BigBlue's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
I think the real question here is... who in their right mind is up at 4:16 am?!?!I'm in Punta Cana right now so it was actually at 6:16am Up at 6:16am on vacation in a warm and sunny destination with your electronic internet device, posting on a message board. Your priorities are clearly different than mine. Get out there and enjoy, dude. You only live once. -
The Grey Cup 103 logo is ... very royal blue
TrueBlue replied to Mike's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Sorry, if that was happening or not happening, it would be something our CEO would announce publicly. But I love the rampant speculation! Rampant is what we do. Yes, I see that... in droves. Let me rephrase the question, because I'm mildly curious. Do you know (either way) the answer to my question? Mike I find your use of the word "mildly" somewhat misleading... -
Might have to let Sears walk if we want to make a significant play at someone like Heenan.

Congratulations my friend. Keep on doing what you "do".

Save for Fantuz, Hamilton's starting receiving corps all FAs.

What is the deal with the Grey Cup ticket pricing
TrueBlue replied to Mike's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
This has left me curious as well. They can't interfere with concourse too much. Wondering where the access will be especially, -
What is the deal with the Grey Cup ticket pricing
TrueBlue replied to Mike's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
My only qualm is that there should have been another price point between $175 and $299. If the temp seating does go pretty fast, that leaves a pretty big jump to the next price level. -

Michael Sam Possibly Playing for Als Next Season
TrueBlue replied to TrueBlue's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Why would it be locked? Despite the fact that it has gone off-topic... -
Jim Popp has apparently told Dave Naylor there is a 50/50 chance that Michael Sam will play for the Alouettes in 2015. http://www.thescore.com/nfl/news/642701 Please keep the discussion politically correct and in good taste.
