  1. Crown Maple has a great taste to it, a good winter drink on the rocks. One ounce Crown, one ounce water. Also White Owl Spiced Whiskey is a favourite of mine with ginger ale.
  2. that's because the captain is a dirty double crossing bastard who will kick your ass and leave you to die on a deserted island. Sounds like you and rum need some closure.
  3. Did Eisho even practice?
  4. No national requirement?
  5. Farmery is also a nice light pale lager. I tried it for the first time this winter, and have had it a few times since then. Brewed just out of Neepawa.
  6. Good if you like a nice pale beer. Lots of choices to choose from in that category, which is why it's puzzling that there weren't more choices there.
  7. So you think they're going to sell 11 000 walk up tickets? Laughable. who ever said anything even close to that? I said ticket sales for the Bombers are always lower a week before the game. In Winnipeg most of the non season ticket holders buy their tickets last minute. No one expects a sell out on this team, they need to rebuild a lot of the casual fans trust, but they'll get into the 25000+ range I have no doubts, especially if it's a nice evening. I'd hope they'd be much closer to 30k than 25k for the season opener.
  8. Or he could read the blitz pre-snap when 6 guys are lined up full bore on the line of scrimmage and move his first read onto a route where he has a chance to get the ball out before he's snowed under. He can pretty safely assume on a blitz like that when he has fewer blockers than blitzers that there will be pressure coming from an outside gap, unless one of his linemen miraculously block 2 guys. The OL handled that blitz correctly, the QB didn't. Happens all to often with him. Fails to recognize a blitz, and over-estimates the time he needs to do what he wants to do.
  9. Not a GIF Day Thread so here goes:
  10. Seems like the guys who "stick around" are the ones we're trying to rid ourselves of.
  11. So is Tate is the starter in Calgary until further notice?
  12. Tarver, Garvin, possibly Grigsby. Garvin looked awful on that PI call.
  13. So the Bombers get to be the only team to have played both pre-season games by then.
  14. I'll reserve most judgement on Marve and Brohm until at least another game. The only things I'll say at this point is that the confidence level of Marve looks 100x higher than that of Brohm. Brohm seemed very confused at times. He did however react well to the one blitz that he got off the quick throw to Volny for the first down. Regardless, I wouldn't be making any proclamations on the QB depth chart based on these visuals.
  15. I hear ya...
  16. The ups and downs of training camp. Depends on the times one spectator comes and the other one leaves.
  17. This doesn't surprise me in the least. He was probably brought in to be evaluated and run through the grind for a few days. Obviously his body couldn't take it. I wasn't expecting it. If he was still game ready and able, he'd have found room on an NFL team somewhere. I'm seeing a similar fate for Ocho as well.
  18. He is very similar in size and stature and speed as Alex Hall, so DE seems more likely to me.
  19. Moseley's big, but he can move pretty well. I remember Stevenson played an exhibition game for the Stamps last year but was released shortly after. Not a lot of experience as an OL.
  20. As a centre his technique is pretty much going to be the same. He might have to work on adjusting his footwork, but it's nothing that Wylie wouldn't be able to help him with. It might be more different if he was going to be playing tackle.
  21. Optics are everything, but this sounds like only partial disclosure. What is the league trying to avoid?
  22. It makes sense, then you use one of your new imports (Leggett, Johnson, whoever) as the DI and you're set. Sears or Washington at safety, either one is a great option. I like Washington at safety a little more. Better vision and a little more open field speed. I also would trust him a little more on a safety blitz too because I think he is a better tackler.
  23. Wild, Kuale and Banks as our "starters"? I guess it may be written that way on the depth chart. Newman is going to take a lot of snaps all over the place though. I basically envision Newman, Alexander and a defensive lineman rotating as the Canadian in our defense. Alexander will be the starter on the depth chart at field corner, but when Newman is in, we could have an import defensive back pulling Alexander out. It will be interesting to see how Newman fairs as a hybrid-type rotational player.
  24. Wild, Kuale and Banks as our "starters"?
  25. So to sum up who Winnipeg chose, they are: Matthias Goossen - OL - Simon Fraser (2nd overall) Jesse Briggs - LB - McGill (17th overall) Derek Jones - DB - Simon Fraser (29th overall) Quinn Everett - DL - Mount Allison (47th overall) Aram Eisho - LB - McMaster (56th overall)
