  1. Williams has me way more intrigued than Hogan does at this point.
  2. If Wylie can't squeeze every ounce out of our current hogs, then in all honesty no one can.
  3. What would be your definition of a good return?
  4. Which are? Did you read the full article?
  5. I lol'ed at the fact that of the 3 council members that opposed it, 2 were named Rob Ford and Doug Ford. http://www.winnipegfreepress.com/sports/toronto-council-approves-earmarking-10-million-toward-bmo-renovation-plan-253761011.html
  6. I'd really be weary about trading Kane. The thought of trading him is intriguing because his value is pretty high. Chevy has the ability of being very picky with a possible move. You'd have to get a very appealing offer from a team willing to trade based on his potential. A team would have to be very aggressive to want him. I'm thinking a top 6 forward, AND multiple other prospects/draft picks. I wouldn't be opposed to re-signing Jokinen for the right price. He's not a liability at this point, and has finally found his comfort level here.
  7. Really depends on yer take on fried chicken.. Thick, crunchy skin? Chicken chef or KFC. Less skin? Dals or chicken delight id gather... Candies chicken used to kick ass... Then they disappeared.. What do you mean "disappeared"? Close down?
  8. Suggestions for best fried chicken in town?
  9. You're right, that IS an awful comparison.
  10. Where's Donald Fehr when you need him?
  11. Thibault could put in some valuable experience on special teams before his role could be known. A guy like him, with a good work ethic and lots of time devoted to fundamental positional training in camp and practices, he could really become a good player in a season or two.
  12. So if the Pavelec era is over, where are our assets best spent/used for a solution to this? Cam Ward or James Reimer are expendable, but what good does that do?
  13. I actually agree with Penton on Coombs being Winnipeg's "dark horse". I would love it if he became our version of Cornish.
  14. 3rd or 4th round probably. That's almost low enough to make sense.
  15. I'll echo the same statements about not wanting to trade Kane. Mike nailed it when he said that the guy was rushed into the League by ATL. This should really be his second season in the league, not his fifth. He lacks a few things, wisdom and patience mainly, which hopefully will come with more time. Kane's a good player. Raw, but good.
  16. Totally disagree, then again I don't really personally care about travelers. Night games work best for me and I'd prefer if they had to be during the afternoon that they be on a Sunday. Thursday night Rider games wouldn't work for me. It would be a 2 hour drive there and back. It would be much too late. Being in the afternoon, I'd be back by a reasonable time. And you guys want an NHL franchise?
  17. because the game was "too important to miss". There were hints (but again I havent been in depth enough to know for sure) about potential complications. I also heard something about the baby having been born a few days ago and he took 3 days off rather than one and done. But Im not entirely sure. Personally, I blame the rest of the team for letting down their Captain rather than their Captain letting down the team. Thats his wife and baby. That comes first. The baby was born on Sunday night. Having said that, I for one wouldn't fault him at all for his decision. He has every right to be there. Congrats to the Ladd family.
  18. That would be Quinn Smith. Thanks for the correction. No problem.
  19. That would be Quinn Smith.
  20. If this in anyway can improve the consistency of how PI is called in the future, then I am all for it.
  21. There will be lots of grey area with pass interference no matter how trained you get at trying to look for it. The purpose of the rule to have the video replay to identify what you may not have seen from your vantage point. Some receivers do a great job trying to sell pass interference to the officials.
  22. There is a lot of comparing going on between the CFL and the NHL or NBA, and how the last contract negotiations went in those cases. I’m refraining from basing an opinion from those scenarios because you’re talking about apples and oranges here. The CFL is a far cry from being in the same ballpark as these leagues, and the players can’t expect the same kind of agreements and figures to be in negotiation now or in 10 years from now. The last CFL work stoppage was 40 years ago, and it was brief. The tables are entirely different this time around, but the tactics still haven’t changed much. Bottom line is no-one gets a dime of that new TV deal if there are no games played.
  23. Arjei Franklin did spot duty punt returning throughout his career.
  24. I don't think or hope so. We need help NOW. We can't afford to waste another pick. We have to improve our Canadian strength before we can start to improve as a team. Drafting Lavertu & he returns to school would be a bad outcome. If we need help now, then I'm not so sure picking Lavertu (if available) would be the best idea. Maybe they'll be able to gauge his interest more at the combine.
