  1. To be fair, Chamblin walked into a relatively comfy gig in Saskatchewan that was no where near as bad as what is waiting for the new guy here. Khari doesn't seem to be a guy ready for that kind of adversity yet.
  2. When's the season ticket deposit deadline? Perhaps they string people along until then.
  3. If Burke's going to be completing player evaluations, I personally would not be holding much stock into anything he is saying when it comes to any of the offensive players, especially quarterbacks,
  4. Timmy Chang anyone? I can't remember if he played any snaps for us, but I remember how highly touted he came into the CFL with Hamilton. Just more of a name from the past.
  5. You don't get many opportunities like the club did this year to, as you put it nicely, "build and solidfy your fan base". This was the time to take the recognition of this team to a new level. To bring some new excitement to this city, and to make the innaugural season in the new stadium one remember for a long time. There is no denying the play on the field was awful, but this season has been a mess in more ways than one. I don't think I have ever been this dissapointed at this organization, ever.

  7. also curious Everyone will find out on Saturday.
  8. "Fairly likely" by what grounds?
  9. yet every team has a guy who can carry the rock well enough to win... many teams have more than one. Finding the truly elite guys at any position is not easy, but finding guys who can play RB for ya effectively? Those are dime a dozen. If there is one position that I'm not worried about recruiting for, it's RB.
  10. Win or lose the last two games, I think the decision on Burke has already been made.
  11. Can you post a link? I feel vulnerable in unfamiliar territory.
  12. You're optimism always inspires me.
  13. A rare late season Thursday evening game. Where's bluto been lately?
  14. Discuss, don't discuss...whatever. http://cfl.uploads.mrx.ca/wpg/pdf/depth/2013/DepthatTor102442.pdf
  15. Injuries have plenty to do with it. If he didn't start the season on the injured list for the first several games, he would have been in the lineup. It's hard to fathom that if he had more playing time this season that we'd even be talking about this. You say he is not playing currently because he is not good enough, I say it's because other players are playing better than him right now. There's a difference. It doesn't mean he is a "bust", and not worth protecting. I think you are too quick to write him off because he came in with high expectations and was a guy who was expected to work right into the offense and do some damage immediately. Poblah hasn't played up to expectations, but our team is not exactly rich in Canadian content, so as of right now, he is worthy of keeping around for what he can bring to the team. ok....you like him...even though you say other players are better....I don't....guess we'll see. I just think he has a good skill set, and is better than what we have seen from him. It's fair enough to just see what happens.

  17. Looking at that map I find it intriguing that the Platinum seating is in the middle rows of the middle sections and the Silver in the middle of the red sections. What's your thought on Stampeder pricing especially for game day seats? Fans here don't like it. It seems they make it an incentive to buy season tickets to the point of punishing the walk up crowd who don't. Casual fans are staying away by the thousands & season ticket sales are average at 21,000. This kind of price differential between season tickets & walk up to me is awful. There has got to be better middle ground than that. Even if they reduced the single game tickets by 10-15% you'll probably get another 1-2k in walk-up traffic. That's easily another $50k in gate revenue. The other thing I noticed is the price jump from black to blue is ridiculous. $217 to sit marginally closer to the middle of the field seems a bit miscalculated.
  18. That's all well and good, but he can't catch He can catch. We've seen it. He had a decent second year here after missing most of 2011. 2013 has been inconsistent as well with another injury then being regulated to spot duty. With Watson and Kohlert taking most of the first team reps, he just hasn't had the opportunity to get back in there on a regular basis. Guess you haven't been watching the same Poblah as I have. Injuries or not..you can't rely on him to get open, and if he does to make the catch. Guess that's why he is sitting on the bench. How many times has he even seen any game reps this year in the offense? He is sitting on the bench because we currently have 2-3 NI receivers that are better than him. He does have issues with getting open on a consistent basis, but he can be utilized better too. You just made my argument You're argument was that he can't catch. A pretty negligent comment, to say the least. He's performed under his expectations because of injury, and losing his starting spot to other NI receivers. How is that making your argument?

  22. I respect Penton’s opinion on protecting Poblah, although his reasoning is weak. IMO he’s weakness has been the types of routes he’s running and under-utilizing his strengths. Make him run a fade from an inside position or send him on a drag, but he needs to get his hands out in front of him in some open space. I think he needs to be a more consistent part of the blocking schemes on screen plays too. I can see him working well in a few offensive systems.
  23. Positive developments yes, but too little too late I would imagine. Not trying to take away the good things we have seen lately, but that can't cloud the fact that there is much more wrong with this team than there is right. A few games to close out the season that show positive developments can't change minds about what needs to be done to be much better next season. We finished last season 4-3 with the brain trust thinking we were on the right track, so little to nothing was done in the off-season. I would hope that we learnt our lesson then.
  24. Agreed. Aside from Walters and Dickenson, this is a terrible list. I'm pretty sure it was all tongue in cheek. At least I hope it was.
  25. Can't we put Jamie Barresi in there somewhere?
