  1. Go promote your chatroom lollygagging somewhere else, please. The crowd has spoken.
  2. A Bomber win and an Alouette loss and we will be just two points out of a playoff spot. Plus we play Montreal once more this season so we just need to keep pace with them, and then beat them at home. How’s that for optimism?
  3. Ahh revisionist history. Burke was tapped as HC, because he was the most highly touted "next CFL HC" around the league. People were TERRIFIED we were going to lose him if we didn't promote him. Yeah, true to an extent so i will give you that. We know the best connected & most successful ex head coach & GM works in the CFL offices as Director Of Officiating & would jump at the chance to be a HC &/or GM again. We'll see how that goes. How do you know this exactly? Just wondering if this has been made public somewhere recently, because I sure haven't heard it yet.
  4. Bitter much?
  5. Yeah but are you going to hire a new head coach based on an ultimatum that he keeps the current ST Coordinator? I can't see any head coach not wanting to keep a guy on staff who is that highly regarded around the league as a special teams coordinator. That's would be a pretty careless way to think if you were the GM don't you think? I think you misunderstand, I'm not suggest the Bombers dictate who stays on as assistants, I'm suggesting that any head coach would opt to keep Dickenson on staff because he's that well regarded. That would be a stretch IMO. It would all depend on who we hire.

  7. I like the extension but would have been equally okay with putting it off until next season. You're not going to change the world in basically what has been a season-and-a-half so far. He still had 3 years left on his contract, so making the move to extend him was a bit premature. It also is a little telling with what it says about the status of Noel at this point.

  9. No need. I get that, if true, this situation could have been handled differently. There no victims in professional sports though. He is just an unlucky casualty of the business.
  10. Jovon moves to safety for this game, but will likely be in some sort of rotation. Markett starts at weakside corner. Foster starts in Watson's position. Ironically this game is sponsored by BFI. http://cfl.uploads.mrx.ca/wpg/pdf/depth/2013/DepthChartEdmontonatWinnipeg094146.pdf
  11. He wasn't one of Delmonico's "guys". Delmonico has a weird loyalty to the guys who worked out with him through the winter and spring. Mark got exactly one rep 12 on 12 during the first two days of camp. The back was not an issue at that time, he was just basically ignored by Delmonico. The back flared up later. Winnipeg screwed Dewit over buy cutting him the day before he was going to see a back specialist, at the request of the trainer. Dewit was fighting through back issues, but was cut while injured, left with no CFL coverage for rehab. Basically a screw job from day one. I highly doubt that the Bombers were as big of an enemy in this situation that you're making them out to be.
  12. No entries? I guess mine wins by default. I'll PM you my address for the prize. Yours was disqualified for inaccuracies. You spelled community wrong.
  13. Yeah I am surprised more people aren't looking at it this way. If you were showing a video to players on how NOT to hit people, this would be the very first clip. It could have been a lot worse for both guys. Luckily it wasn't.
  14. I'd prefer to start Thomas at DT rather than have Labbe in. Maybe in rotation.
  15. GDTs aren't a PITA, Other things however...
  16. I think you are putting too much emphasis on what Goltz/Hall need to be looking for after the snap. Most of their reads should be done pre-snap anyways, identifying the coverage, seeing if the safety is overcompensating or how tight the backs are playing, etc. You’ll see a lot more if you can work pre-snap, and then you may have the option of looking off the first and going to your second if you know it’s going to be there and the coverage wasn’t disguised. The problem is not that Goltz/Hall felt they wouldn’t have the time and be able to settle themselves, it’s that they take too long in their process for what time they are given. Goltz moreso than Hall.
  17. I know weight isn't everything but Jones at 6'7", 289 is a little lean for my liking,
  18. It's not like the talent pool in the US is lacking either. We just needs the personnel to find them.
  19. Not a CFL vet but Randle was released on the 10th by the Vikings. Bradley Randle #38RB ‏@VIKINGS_Rebel6h Winnipeg...
  20. In all seriousness, the first name that came to mind was Martell Mallett. Please not Avon Cobourne.
  21. If people want a GDT, I will make it my duty to create one for the remaining games left. I have no problem with that if it creates activity and it's what people want. But I concur that GDTs are pretty pointless to read POST-game. In the past when I have gone through them, I always wish I didn't afterwards because virtually little insightful discussion happens in a GDT. You'll find better content in a PRE-game and the various POST-game threads.
  22. Are those guys any more dangerous than Dressler? Besides that the Bombers zone defense is the worst thing in history and I wouldn't want to watch a game of that again. Bombers zone defense plays pretty decent when we blitz. Same thing happened when we beat Montreal.
  23. Corrected the story stating the fight happened August 18th, not on Sunday.
