According To Burke, Buck Is The Starter
TrueBlue replied to rebusrankin's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Good, previous CFL head coaches that are available are pretty hard to find. A lot of the ones around, I wouldn't want. Who would you have in mind? -
Are you excluding Watson because he is injured right now?

According To Burke, Buck Is The Starter

It's behaviour, it's lazy technique, amongst other things as well. Behaviour can be corrected and should be properly coached as it should when it comes to your conduct in the field of play. -
According To Burke, Buck Is The Starter

Consistent offensive output is definitely a big one. We've also seemed to be avoiding or incorrectly addressing our pattern of undisciplined penalties over the years. There seems to be a false sense of accountability when it comes the coaches communicating this with the players year over year. -

The D-Line - Looking At The Sack Numbers
TrueBlue replied to TrueBlue's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Just wishful thinking for the most part I guess. I am just satisfied that we get consistent pressure from just our 4 linemen. This is one aspect of our team that I have no concerns about. -
I like looking at stats, and I am glad that these numbers were brought up this week by non other than Paul Wiecek. Not knowing what the CFL records were, it is interesting to see based on the unsustainable pace this team is on currently. -18 sacks through 3 games is on pace for 108 sacks this season which would shatter the previous record for sacks by a team of 85 set by the 1986 Stampeders -They have 42% of the sack total from all of last season, in which we were second in the league to BC. -Hall has 5 sacks through 3 games this season, which is on pace for 30, which would break the single season record previously set by James Parker of 26.5 back in 1984. Going back to last year, Hall also has 14 sacks in his last 17 games. -The Bombers have led the league in sacks 2 of the last 3 years. It's no secret that our D-line is currently the brightest spot on our team right now. Being only 3 games into this season, I know that this can change pretty fast, but I'm pretty confident that our d-line will continue to stay dominant. They have found their groove it seems, and should be the top line in the league hands down this season. My only wonder is, could these guys break some long established records this year? They need 4.5 sacks/game to finish with 86 as a team. Possible? Probable? http://www.winnipegfreepress.com/sports/football/bombers/sack-masters-drive-blue-d-216117741.html

Argos @ Blue Bombers - Gif Day Thread
TrueBlue replied to MOBomberFan's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
I am so jealous of this. -
Yes the D played there balls off and dominated in every way but at the end of the day Pierce still did what was necessary to win, even if it was only 19 points. My point was a little credit or a lot, Pierce deserves some just like every other guy on that field that night.

Please do let me know how that works out for you.
-
Give me a break, he did enough to at least get some credit for that win.

Goooooober.....

What is Adam Eckert up to these days?

It's not like it was intentional for crying out loud. Players practice with intensity, and it was just a fluke accident. Had Watson walked off unscathed, this wouldn't even be a story.

I remember our back-to-back picks from Washington and Bowman that gave us great field position both times. I can't remember the touchdowns that ensued from those however...

Depth Chart - Week #4 - Argos @ Bombers
TrueBlue replied to TrueBlue's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
It's the recurring injury that he has battled with since the start of the season, so it's not out of the blue. I think he needs the week off to heal up. I can't see him being out of the lineup for more than a week, two at most. -
Brett Carter signed to a contract this morning. Other than him, Edwards and Fitzgerald also coming on the roster on offense. Edwards addition is kind of surprising. http://cfl.uploads.mrx.ca/wpg/pdf/depth/2013/DEPTH075630.pdf

Prediction: Who Will Be Our Leading Receiver?
TrueBlue replied to Atomic's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
I'd be curious to know now that Matthews is out for Friday if it has been the same lingering injury since the start of the season. Perhaps it's hindered his ability so far. -
I disagree. Knowing very little about West, bit player or not, I would be surprised if something like this caused the axe to fall. Players practice with too much intensity all the time, and something like this may happen one out of a hundred times. It was an accident. As a coach, I wouldn't handle the situation any different if it was the other way around. The punishment (whatever it may be) should be the same no matter what players are involved. Still a stupid comment by Burke.

Looks like Denmark may stay in the lineup afterall.

Hopefully someone confiscated his towel before he left that interview.

I Understand This Topic Has Been Beaten To Death But....
TrueBlue replied to CodyT's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
I'm not sure how accurately we can judge how much Buck has slowed down over the last year, if we can at all. This season is early, and last season he didn't have the opportunities to run like he did in 2011. The decline in his play is far more based on his poor decision making.and second guessing.
