  1. Adam Bighill could be the Bombers' 8th Canadian. I absolutely fail to see why this is a hill to die on.
  2. Asking for more during negotiations, sure. But not getting an agreement in committee ratified and having to go back to the table...is a huge deal
  3. Kevin Stevens with Mario as well...although he also had other issues
  4. With mostly the same line up they had this year...
  5. Well, I would think any tackle probably could, but it would depend on what the coaching staff's expectations are for that position In Winnipeg, the bar is set pretty high. On other teams, it was pretty much a gong show last season
  6. Possibly. But I wouldn't be surprised if they continue with 2 Americans at the tackle positions. Especially if they continue to start Canadians at running back.
  7. How so? It was #42 who got beat to the loose puck behind the net
  8. They could have been corporate or company credit cards. I am sure companies who support candidates purchase memberships and get employees and other people to vote for them.
  9. Restrictions are alive and well at the Canada / U.S. border - depending on who's on duty that day.
  10. He also knows when to leave - he has a history of that.
  11. If that is the case, then it doesn't say much about a significant number of the Jets' players If they become a contender under Trotz, then it will be clear that many of them have underperformed in 2021 - 2022
  12. You'd have to get very rigorous then, because partisanship and favoritism are entrenched in this country. I have heard an MP say to a fairly large group of people from across Canada "that he needed to 'repay people' who had helped him get elected."
  13. I read the article as "the Crown is arguing that she should be returned to jail." I don't see how "the possibility of speaking at a gala" can be a valid reason for sending someone back to jail.
  14. We've heard this drama before. No one can afford to hold up the season...and they won't.
  15. Sounds like a whole lot of smash mouth football.
  16. The company is called Lakeland today - we get our milk delivered from there.
  17. It would be interesting to know if there was a difference in how RBs were utilized In today's game, they are mostly the outlet valve as a receiver, and they have to fight for much of their yardage
  18. The absolute brilliance of getting him here as an FA, and then keeping him here for so many seasons, cannot be overstated It has been said before - he was one of the key components of the 'culture shift'
  19. Just so I'm clear - you're saying he did this in Columbus?
  20. Yes, in the mid - 70s all the way to the early 90s, the only real way to make money with grain was to feed it to livestock But more recently, it is quite possible to do well with farming exclusively grain But the CWB was not the issue - because grains other than wheat or malting barley were also priced very low Barley was as low as 90 cents a bushel in 1980s, so you could make a killing feeding it to hogs or cattle
  21. Fair comment. One difference I would point out: fewer large semis vs. many small grain trucks
  22. Since we're doing receiver confessions - I was excited when Taman signed Wane McGarrity.
  23. But don't forget - the trucks were still hauling the grain to the local elevators, even when the trains were running. We haul our grain to Patterson on the West perimeter. From there, it gets shipped further (usually south) by train. The vast majority of Canada's exported grain is still moved by train.
