Honestly, the BS from PT is beyond stupid. I mean, geez, Winnipeg kids get a snow day once in a quarter century, let them enjoy it We've had 13 snow days in LSSD this year - I wonder what they'd do with that... And equally stupid - Sunrise told their teachers to refrain from posting stories on social media today - so they won't be thought of as lazy

Winnipeg schools are closed for two days - this has not happened in 20 + years.

Highways will close at midnight, but some divisions are still not making it official.

There are about 20 ridings where the votes earned by the PPC candidate would have been enough to give the Conservative candidate a victory But there is really not enough evidence that shows they were previous CPC voters - some were even previous Green voters (fringers gonna fringe) https://globalnews.ca/news/8212872/canada-election-conservative-vote-splitting/

You just might be right - a large chuck of the PPC vote was a Covid mandates protest - and we certainly heard the Cons fall all over themselves to support the Convoy They've only got 119 seats right now. Pollievre winning the PPC support back will get them maybe another 10, as there isn't that much real evidence that they lost seats due to the PPC vote

It has hurt him somewhat - he's won back to back minorities - at least one of those should have easily been a majority Unless Pollievre's current positions are just grandstanding in order to win the leadership race - he has no chance of winning an election

You're going to 'run' right 'on' into this system. It should give you some respite - to write another missive - or two...

Well, there was no snow day for those slick roads last week. Bus drivers were in a treacherous position. So, don't hold you breath.

That Breezy Point area floods almost every year. The government bought out some of the more flood prone houses - the rest have earthen dikes.

The ground is no longer completely frozen. You can already see green grass where the snow is melting.

I'm pretty sure that would be a first, for any budget involving public finances.

It's not too much yet. The white tails were running straight down the middle of Netley Creek - last July / August If we get melting weather after this system, the timing should be pretty good for May seeding

I realize we're all going to be pretty miserable next week, but this predicted snow is actually fantastic One way or the other, the creeks, the streams, the rivers, the lakes and our ground water/water table, need to be replenished They are forecasting another hot and dry summer, so we still NEED more spring moisture If we get more moisture now, then we could get by with minimal moisture over the summer - last spring was very dry, coupled with a dry summer Another crop year like 2021 will send food prices through the roof and severely impact other parts of the economy

25% of the world's wheat from those two countries. Yep. The U.S. corn belt is a disaster waiting to happen. However, the same thing is true about oil. Many countries could and should be far less dependant on the oil of other nations.

I would also add that globalization in general is a security issue Russia exports more wheat than oil.

Covid-19
I wouldn't write it off as simply copy cat behaviour. Austria was one of the few countries considering compulsory vaccinations. Even countries like that have done a complete 180.

In all fairness, most North American and European governments are loosening or lifting mandates. Even very strict countries like Austria and Germany.

I recently had several students who caught omicron - both vaccinated and unvaccinated To be very honest, vaccinated students really did not fare any better - it was about the same I was quite disappointed by that, and I hope it's not a common trend

Considered how vital China's workforce is to their manufacturing sector - it's strange that they wouldn't have more of them vaccinated

Most of society is a long way from being prepared for these changes. We are all clinging to those beliefs, to some extent. No one is exempt from this, it is the fabric of our current society.

Keyboard wars vs. real life and real people fighting for their lives. Influencing an election only requires buy in from a few capable, tech savvy people. There are more than enough voters who'll believe the disinformation Winning a war requires buy in from an entire army. They clearly don't have that. If they did, it would be over by now

I am fully aware that he has spent more - I said that in my post Once again, we've gone through a once in a 100 years pandemic Or, do you think we should have managed things the way some States did? Just pretend it doesn't exist?
