  1. There were numerous members of this board who were not impressed with the Harris and Lawler situations. But, we were mostly happy with how the team handled it.
  2. LMAO that they arrested them due to public intoxication. I guess there's no drinking in any of the convoys...
  3. He won't be understanding at all. This is what's really at the heart of these protests. They are not about vaccines, that's just a smoke screen. These guys are afraid of their own priveleges being eroded, due to some of the groups you mentioned asserting themselves. Why else are the police playing nice?
  4. I'm not sure if I can continue to vote, at this time - in anything other than municipal elections. If it's Trudeau vs. Polliviere, there's no way I can vote for either of them.

I just know that is has helped me personally, when it comes to combatting misinformation. You can't let it consume your entire being - that is all I meant with what I posted.

Not quite. They removed all restrictions 2 weeks ago - Feb. 1 They had 75 people in ICU at the end of January - they currently have 30 people in ICU. https://www.cbsnews.com/news/covid-restrictions-denmark/

It's not my assertion: it was stated by medical professionals in the article You would need the ability to enforce it for over 50% of the population That ability does not exist
  8. I looks like to today is the beginning of the end... ...now they can all go home and pretend the provinces changed their mandates because of them.

I know there are plenty of very good, down to earth people in rural Alberta How much real estate you allow the lunatics to occupy in your brain - is under your control.

So, here's a very good article from CBC. They are removing vaccines mandates because there are not enough people who are boosted - two doses are less than 15% effective at preventing transmission The mandates served their purpose - 3 million more Canadians got vaccinated. But Omicron will continue moving through the population, regardless of that. https://www.cbc.ca/news/health/canada-vaccine-mandate-passport-covid-19-omicron-boosters-1.6349038?fbclid=IwAR0IpWKlR11cxi6u97VqnNWEet4WVfJ7oD0nWLyC7h-YvUrWVxOpNS5RsxE
  11. Oh - my convoy supporter relatives are busy trying diminish Pat King's role in all this. He's 'just a guy on the streets' who's 'making some comments.'
  12. Quite frankly, I can't argue otherwise.

She clearly says it's time to move on and look at different scenarios - for governments to plan on moving nearer to normalcy - back to what they were before the pandemic I mentioned Dr. Tam because she has played the lead role for Canada, ever since the pandemic began

"We need to plan for the different scenarios and just be ready for a time of emergence of new variants. But we've got to move on and see how we can make our societal functions closer to what they were before the pandemic." "Tam said the possibility of new, more severe variants still poses a risk to future planning, but that it is time for governments and public health experts to "lay out a strategy and a plan towards moving back to something that is nearer normalcy." https://www.cp24.com/news/omicron-may-be-peaking-but-covid-19-isn-t-done-with-us-yet-tam-1.5749861

All I know is, school divisions have pretty much in lock step imposed and/or removed everything according to what public health directed.
  16. Mark H. replied to JCon's topic in General Discussion
It is hard to rationalize this when you hear what Dr. Tam and other global health experts are saying. Or should we just assume they are caving to people who are tired of the restrictions? That their decisions are not based on public health data? I have a hard time thinking of trained professionals in that way, especially given that our Canadian experts have imposed some of the toughest restrictions in the world.

School divisions did not impose the mask mandate, the cohorts, etc. I doubt that it's within their jurisdiction to keep the mandates in place. That would need to come from public health. Just look at what happened when isolation requirements changed.
  18. And the interim leader has now flip flopped for the nth time, and asked them to leave. People love to make fun of Trudeau, but Bergen sounds like a 4th grader. Seriously, an MP across the floor explains jurisdiction in answer to a question. She then accuses him of 'mansplaining' things to her.
  19. ^^ MB had best be joining the party.
  20. It would be nice if AH33 were still here... But I always think about what happened after 2007. The MO was to keep the team together, and go get a championship next year That DID NOT work out - they clearly retained some players that they needed to move on from I have found this off-season to be a nice balance of retention and recruitment...so far.
  21. When challenged by the opposition - he needs to state precisely what is within federal jurisdiction - and what is not Also - most provinces are already working towards changing and relaxing restrictions - Trudeau is not preventing them from doing this This is a very simple rebuttal - and would pretty much render the Candice Bergen et. al. grandstanding - moot. And - this could all have been done virtually while he was in isolation - quickly and efficiently. Or - Freeland et. al. should have done it That then narrows the focus down to just the border vaccine mandate, which the U.S. has also imposed The question for the opposition would be: "exactly which concerns is he supposed to listen to and address?" He could also ask: "would you speak in person to a group - where there are individuals who clearly threaten your safety?" Again - all of this needed to be done very early in the game - before the convoy could gain any 'traction.'
  22. It seems he's the one 'watching'...this time It looks like the puppet masters are not sure which string to pull...on this one...
  23. I am not a supporter of any of this, but let's get real: 1. A resident saw these people lighting the fire, and their response was to get in the elevator? Not to leave the building or call 911? 2. The arsonists would actually identify themselves as being 'from the convoy'? 3. It was not reported to the police - they saw it on Twitter?
  24. Those are not mutually exclusive events.

That one useless week of remote learning after Christmas - that was the breaking point for me. When you're doing things just for the sake of appearances - it's time for change. That change is now happening.
