  1. The long term civil servants are really doing the work.
  2. Sure. I can't imagine a similar protest bring allowed or tolerated in Russia or Ukraine. Thus, they were priveleged. I did say it was mind numbing.
  3. ^^ It's about time the media is saying this...it sure took them long enough It's almost like Winnipeg is supposed to be thankful to just have the NHL...no room for criticism
  4. ^^ Meanwhile in Canada - we spend three weeks parking trucks to supposedly protest vaccine mandates That is just - mind numbingly privileged
  5. The key is...to just not...think too hard...
  6. Yes. The bumper crops that we saw in the years previous to 2021, had more to do with drainage than with fertilizer application or any other factors Farmers have drained their land so they can seed earlier and not have as much standing water after a heavy rain. But if the soil thaws early enough in spring, none of that will matter, in terms of flooding
  7. Right - some Police probably did support them, but when their boss tells them to do tbeir job, they have to go do it. Unlike the protestors who refused to leave their trucks. Respect for authority seems to be a concept that is lost on them.
  8. According to things being said in various videos, a combination of social media and the convoy organizers had convinced most of the protestors that: 1. The police are on their side 2. Most of Canada agrees with them 3. That they just needed to 'hold the line' To me, they seem shocked to discover that this is not the case.
  9. ^^ only if we get a very fast melt. The water table is pretty much gone and most creeks were 90% dried by the end of summer. There is definitely room for water.
  10. And - if they want a long haul job - how about BC to Toronto?
  11. This: https://driving.ca/auto-news/local-content/plenty-of-jobs-for-truckers-vaccinated-or-not-says-trucking-company-owner
  12. It's not a division per se, but 15% of 38 million is a large enough number to worry about - it's 5.7 million people When you consider that only 40% of the population votes in most elections - 5.7 million people are not insignificant
  13. I will say this: During what I will dub "the convoy period" the Canadian Politics chat had an equal number or more posts than the American Politics chat Not even a federal election could generate this much activity I believe this is unprecedented - in the prestigious history of MBB
  14. Ok, I seriously had no idea he was that stupid. He actually sounds completely sincere.

My paramedic friend tells me the KN95 is not as good as just a regular medical mask. The N95 is, but not the KN95. This, to me, is why they are lifting restrictions. Those who don't have their shots are not going to get them.

Thanks for sharing. Same thing in our house. How people can be anything other than thankful for vaccines, is beyond me.
  18. I have a moral problem with the Olympics being on, while most us are still living with various degrees of restrictions
  19. Three days worth of trade over the Windsor Bridge. Just imagine, the amount of trade they held up was enough to pay for all Covid costs, twice over.
  20. I thought I was going to follow the NHL agaim. BS like this has turned me off.
  21. Just another DB who hits hard on pretty much every play All in a day's work, for this team.
  22. It reminds of an old Air Farce headline: Political Hinterland 'who's who?'
  23. Run or throw to the flats, throw to the flats or run About every 3rd game, roll out and throw deep to the guy who's been running long posts on every play, since the start of the season
  24. Looks like this guy had a wee bit of sauce...
