  1. And your plan was to do nothing, somehow identify and isolate everyone who's vulnerable, and then wait for herd immunity to develop. This is a new virus - how could officials KNOW FOR SURE who the most vulnerable people were? Some pandemics have killed many young and healthy individuals. But there was no way to predict (in the early going, maybe not even now) precisely who the vulnerable segments of the population were. You point to some segments as being statistically insignificant - but you forget that those statistics were not available a few months ago. The Spanish flu is the classic example of what can happen if you go the herd immunity route - most governments in 2020 just could not take that risk.
  2. True - it’s 356K
  3. Gotcha - makes sense.
  4. 50 million people died from the Spanish Flu world wide - or do you mean 500 000 Americans?
  5. He’s in with big pharma - they are working on poisoning the entire world to control the population. Trump is the only person who can stop these corrupt people.
  6. IIRC, there was a strong candidate running for the Dems, but the usual result happened.
  7. Yes, North Dakota really has no large urban centres. As for Western Ontario, it all depends how many of those people travel further East, or have contact with people who do.
  8. Point(s) taken. I think we will see governments choose a blend of both. For example - I don't think we'll see Manitoba completely close the schools again. I just worry about who is ultimately going to benefit from all this money being borrowed that will have to be paid back. I think we all know the answer...
  9. The feds can’t keep on loaning billions and paying people not to work. Eventually inflation will go through the roof, our dollar with drop, and our credit rating could be in serious trouble.
  10. I also think Manitoba has done well, but I’m worried about who is on our borders - Ontario and the Dakotas.
  11. But there’s so much comfort in conspiracy theories. It’s interesting how all the Covid 19 conspiracies have a common denominator - they all originate in the U.S., revolve around U.S. medical professionals, and tend to side with Trump.
  12. Well...they did needed to replace a third of the population.
  13. In our case here, it’s a few idiots that ruin it for everyone. I’ve already got two recycling bags full of beer cans just from this spring - that’s 288 cans. In an urban more controlled setting though, maybe it would work.
  14. No thanks. We look after an abandoned gravel pit. Cans, bottles and broken glass are a constant problem. Drinking in a public park is the last thing I would want see.
  15. Only the gelding escaped this time - they're trying to contain the stallion.
  16. They must wonder why no one comes to kill them right in their beds...
  17. And everyone would just die of natural causes.
  18. Which is what has led to things like this: https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/manitoba/seven-oaks-winnipeg-summer-camps-1.5566560
  19. And unlike the completely awesome POTUS, Fauci has been living in an ivory tower.
  20. That must have been we had tracks on combines & grain carts running out to the trucks.
  21. Our worst year was 2005 - complete drown out - absolutely zero crop. We got 3 inches of rain 20 minutes, when most of the crop was just coming up - that was it for that year.
  22. Last summer was dry but we did have a good crop - the rains we did get were timely. Of harvest I cannot say as much - soybeans were harvested in the snow, some wheat sprouted because we didn't get it off before the heavy Sept. rains.
  23. Literally and figuratively.
  24. This is certainly not one of those years - we'll be happy to finish by the end of May.
