Their platforms don't matter - they'll deliver about 1/8 of what their promising I'm looking at their past track records and I'll tell you why When Stephen Harper lost in 2015, he said the Conservatives would form government again, and when they did, it would be based on their Conservative values. I find this to be true of any government and party.

In Canada at the federal level, all parties have a history of deficits. All of them.
-
Well hey, maybe you could persuade someone to cancel their season tickets...

I think we’ll see another Liberal majority. Scandals aside, when you look at the things you can fault Trudeau for (eg. Foreign Policy) Scheer has done nothing to distinguish himself in those areas. The Conservatives will probably win the popular vote, but that won’t translate into many more seats. Winning the prairies in a landslide doesn’t amount to much more than a hill of canola. The Liberal vote is more efficient and I think the NDP will lose seats, especially in BC.

I agree. And promising to scrap it won’t have the same effect that Chretien’s GST pledge did. Canadians have seen that movie before.

I had forgotten about that - would have been huge.

You were responding to the question: why do our receivers not catch the ball in stride? My point is, the same thing happens with Nichols at QB - it appears to be the scheme Lapo runs.
-
There are drops in every game. Bombers dropped some too.
-
22/33 337 yards.
-
There were plenty of the same routes when Nichols was the QB. It has been a Winnipeg trend for a few years now.

A healthy BLM is going to throw for 300 + yards against any team in the CFL. But I will grant you the bad weather conditions - they would work in our favour.

1. There were 3 instances where costly penalties kept the the Calgary offense on the field, which resulted in points. One which was what should have been a game changing sack. Another was an illegal contact call after a critical knock down up front. These things can be corrected. 2. BLM passing for 300+ yards - that is to be expected when they are playing the best QB in the league. That is not and should not be a criticism of the Defense. 3. Our passing game is what it is. Combined with the running game, the offensive totals were similar - the Stamps had 50 yards more 4. In spite of this team's limitations, they lost by only 4 points. The final 'drive' was not a back breaker. The back breaker was allowing the Stamps to stay on the field in critical situations

Except for the small matter, that a win wasn’t far away.

It has and it will again.

1. Streveler 2. Harris 3. Sayles HH Jake Thomas People, this team is not done. They had some unfortunate and inopportune penalties that kept the Stamps on the field and resulted in points. A QB and a team that fight this hard are going to make some noise yet.

If Strev doesn't at least try to complete deeper throws, teams will key on our run game and stuff it most of the time. That will hurt us more than the interceptions he's thrown.

Rider fans complaining about our attendance on Saturday
Mark H. replied to Joe Rockhead's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
It's time for this thread to expire. If we are supposed to ban posters like the one in this thread, should we not also ban posters who make highly inappropriate comments about the Riders and their province? Some of you take it beyond good-natured ribbing but expect Rider fans to be banned. -
This article is a very good read. Apparently provincial budgets are no longer in a deficit situation: https://www.winnipegfreepress.com/local/manitoba-numbers-game-561473592.html Frustrating commentary by the provincial government. Maybe they fear irrelevance now that the budget is balanced? I guess if Scheer gets elected the transfer payments will be cut back - then can go back to slaying the deficit.

I think we both know that any comments or discussion on women's rights, including abortion, is nothing but lip service. Every party, should they get elected, is going to leave them exactly the way they are. As for the environment, I don't believe we have had a governing party that has really taken it seriously. I mean, we're now taxing pollution but we don't even have decent tree planting programs.

You don't consider which local candidate will best serve your riding? Someone who is active in the local community vs. someone who is a complete unknown?
-
The Greens are ‘in play’ in about half a dozen ridings. About 1/3 of the ridings across the country are too close to call.
-
Legwork? May as well take a walk in the woods - it would be more productive. Other than from the Conservative incumbent, there is literally no information available in my riding. For example, they have nothing in the local store / coffee shop just up the road on PTH 9. Their web pages are just a rehash of their leaders' talking points - basically a carbon copy created by the party. Local newspapers? Nothing. Signs? Hardly any.

It's better to be out of the loop.
