  1. More facts needed: every government runs deficits. Gary Doer’s NDP in Manitoba ran a balanced budget. Harper ran numerous deficits, even with a majority. My point: It’s better to ask why a government ran deficits, rather than making broad statements about them.
  2. You can’t possibly not understand the point of my original post. There were plenty of luke warm Trump supporters who voted for him, because they didn’t want to just stay home. That’s not even up for debate, it’s a fact.
  3. I know right? You have it all figured out.
  4. Basically, they regret their choice but (lamely) talk about how good their economy is. Good point about Doug Ford.
  5. Do you know any Americans? The ones I know voted for Trump because they liked Hilary even less. He was the lesser of two evils to many who were/are frustrated with the status quo of ‘the establishment’ and career politicians. The same thing could happen in Canada.
  6. The woman in question took the time to respond - maybe she'd rather not discuss Trump's spell checking abilities.
  7. They always started Gauthier at LT over him.
  8. I think Reilly is overrated and it will be proven this season.
  9. Honestly, I'm not too far behind you. Might check scores, won't be watching any games.
  10. Let’s see if Berube can take the Blues to the conference finals...
  11. And yet he'd be a first pairing shut down D on the majority of teams. Dion Phaneuf was usually a first pairing D - but Trouba ranks well ahead of him in terms of defensive zone play.
  12. Being dumb and playing D the way he does do not go together.
  13. Let’s keep the thread on topic - thanks. My apologies for getting the off topic slide started.
  14. Oh well - at least the Lions have a duck & chuck QB who didn't make the playoffs last year.
  15. I'm sure he'd even throw a couple of Alberta steers on the video...
  16. I could obstruct your right to cut down a tree...😁
  17. Interesting article. I don’t see the need to opine that Mueller ‘took the wrong approach’ the way the writer does. It is likely that there was collusion but it cannot be proven beyond a reasonable doubt. A classic example of that would be the Mark Stobbe case, or even the old movie 12 Angry Men. These were criminal charges and that was the correct standard of proof to apply.
  18. One must find comfort in small mercies...
  19. Sure - one smartboard connected to one computer or laptop. I'm referring to having multiple devices in the room.
  20. Not exactly. They average salary is approx. $60 000 per year in the States, which is about what it is here because new grads make around $50 000. American Teachers can also earn money in addition to their salary because they get paid for coaching and other extra-curricular activities. With the exception of being able to earn a couple of paid days off, all extra curricular activities are uncompensated in Canada.
  21. I was not complaining about salary. There is inequality in terms of how cuts are being made in Ontario - which is why I cited the Highschool example. And quite Honestly, introducing so much tech at the elementary level was unnecessary in my opinion - kids can learn how to use it when they’re older without any difficulties.
  22. No higher than anyone else with two - three degrees.
  23. When you average everything out and include teacher librarians, resource teachers, principals, counsellors et. al. you have approx. 13 - 14 students per teacher in Manitoba. However, there are many Highschool classes with 30+ students. Teaching highschool has had a stigma attached to it for decades - we are seen as having far easier jobs than the other positions.
