Winnipeg, Urban Decay, and Other Cities
Mark H. replied to WinnipegGordo's topic in General Discussion
In the years before Covid, there were several organizations that sponsored the attendance of schools at the Manitoba Museum. It was not free, the museum was still getting paid. This is a fact - I take my grade 11 group to the museum every year. No, they don't. Achieving 94 000 paid attendance when you're target is 100 000, is actually pretty good. -

I've booked quite a few field trips groups at CMHR. They do have dates where they are fully booked. As does the MB. Museum - I was there on Friday with 40 grade 11s - the place was busy. -

I have been to TO twice - it was ok. Attended an Argo game, climbed the CN, & sat in Beliveau's locker at the HHOF. 😁 -

That's too funny - maybe they don't want to meet you? 😄 -
As if their spoiled opinions were any kind of reflection of reality.

Somewhat of a conundrum. It's a passing league but most fall/playoff games are won on the ground.

But maybe he could produce quite well in Winnipeg - with Schoen, Lawler, Demski and Oliviera needing to be accounted for. He knows the CFL game and could be adept at finding openings created by the superstar talent.

One reason might be - we fielded the best secondary that I can remember - in that GC - everyone was healthy. I was at the game where Hammy beat us soundly that year - Brandon Alexander was standing on the sidelines. It could be that if they used max protect and consequently fewer receivers in the GC, perhaps our cover guys would have had them mostly blanketed. With Hecht (one example) at safety back in Sept., it was a whole other story.

Broxton sure. McGlouster has been mostly on practice rosters. Lofton started for the Riders, on an abyssmal OL.

Not 0 concerns for me. They've been starting the same tackles for quite a few seasons. It's been a while since the scouting department has unearthed an OT who became a starter for the Bombers.

Well, I don't think anyone said the playoffs were 'unpaid' - because playoff money is a thing. -

Then our debate is basically a coin flip. 1a) They get paid 1 b) They might keep their NFL dream alive Yes, both of those require drive and dedication. -
Rest easy, Mr. Ploen. Thankfully your suffering is over.

Interesting debate here. Considering the toll that football takes on the body, I would lean more towards guys playing for the $$ and the travel opportunities. Yeah, you an make practice roster money pretty much anywhere, but entry level contracts are $75 000 ($55 000 USD) for a 6 month season - that's not money you make just anywhere -
