More diversity in your starting Canadians would also improve the quality of your special teams. In most of the games I watched this year, I found that the OL was over-matched by the DL. In almost every games, there seemed to be a DE that the OTs could not consistently contain and/or they were getting away with blatant holds. Management teams need to be taking a hard look at this trend.

I agree, not a big deal during the holidays. But still not very competent on their part

Audio books. We listen to Patrick Stewart's reading of A Christmas Carol every year - usually while we're on the road. It's fantastic. It's a Wonderful Life is my man cave movie - wife doesn't like it. Drinks: can never go wrong with scotch on the rocks. Or any decent whiskey on the rocks... Any food traditions beyond the usual turkey or goose? I make a steak dinner for the whole family at some point during the holidays. This year it'll be on Dec. 23rd.

Sorry man, I couldn't resist. Cheerio.

Make fun of people is easy - it doesn't make you sound anywhere near as intelligent as you think it does.

Truth. And overall there was never a clear winner of the war. But it did lead to the creation of a border in 1818. Fears of American Invasion never really subsided - they were one of the reasons for Confederation and the building of the CPR.

Impossible to say. It's more likely they had vision of weapons today and if they did would never want the citizenry to possesses them. The interpretation of the amendment that it was for the citizenry to act as a militia in the absence of a strong central army is fair. At the time the Americans expected that the British would re-organize and try to take back the 13 colonies at some point, and so they wanted to make sure every American had a gun and could be mobilized should the British sweep over the border from Canada and start another armed conflict. Turns out that they were right, as in 1812 war broke out again. And the British walked into Washington and burned down the president's mansion, but not before eating the dinner that President Madison had left behind when he and his staff fled the city. The British tried to burn down Washington, but it was saved by a hurricane that put out all of the fires. Weird eh? That was only after the Americans made repeated attempts to take Quebec. Their ultimate goal was to control the entire continent, until they found out Canadians and the British would fight back.

Because no matter how much people whine and ***** about them people still read them and they probably sell more papers than the reporters do. I'd imagine it has to due with seniority. I don't think they sell papers or create hits. I'd suspect a Sinclair or Broadbeck does. Indeed - can we expect anything else from a paper that publishes Tom Broadbeck and his simplistic 6th grade rants?

Probably the same napkins the Kyoto Accord was written on

Maybe, just maybe, there are cycles to earth's climate, that we don't even understand or get just yet. Like, why were the "dirty thirties" so dirty? Now, if there is a drought, it must be "man made climate change" that is causing it. But what caused the drought in the 30's? It wasn't man-made climate change. Perhaps, just perhaps, climates change naturally. But there's no $4 billion funding grants, and no fancy Paris parties to attend, if that's the case. So fear-mongering it is. I can answer this one: The Dirty 30's happened because of poor farming practices. When you're farming, dry/wet years are just part of the natural order of things. They busted up the prairie sod and then put very little back into it for decades. Whatever straw wasn't needed for livestock was burned, almost all stubble was burned. When a drier period (dirty thirties) came long, their top soil just disappeared. Moisture retention was almost zero, top soil retention was non-existent. Today we have practices such as zero tillage, crop rotation, shelter belts, crops that add more organic matter to the soil, and combines that chop the straw so it decomposes more readily. Basically, the dirty thirties happened because people didn't quite understand how to farm the prairies yet. When I see neighbours still burning stubble (unless it's because of disease) I wonder how much we've actually learned.

The entire deficit debate between the Cons and the Libs - you just can't make this stuff up! The reality is whichever party formed the government would have run a deficit. One promised no deficit at all, the other said 10 billion IMO, same manure, different barn

He had Steven Jyles, Michael Bishop, & Marcus Crandell all play qb for him in 2008. Being anywhere but dead last with that group is a testament to the quality of his work. Which raises a good point about QB injuries under Lapolice given the problems here. Both times he was fired by the Bombers a major reason was struggling to scheme to protect the QB, even with a good running game. Khari's career all but ended under him with the beating he took in 03, Buck was obviously fragile but didn't get much help, Jyles had an injury here at the end of 2010 that essentially ended his useful CFL career. How much can we rely on his time away to change his mentality? He had a lot of time to grow between 03 and 2010 and his offensive philosophy didn't seem a whole lot different. The O-line was definitely our achilles heel during the Milt, Khari, & Charlie years. They were easier to ignore with spectacular talent at the skill positions.

No surprise - no way do they win that majority without Gerald Butts at the helm

If the $$ will reduce carbon emissions and lead to a greater variety of energy sources, I for one will support that. Even if they had 0 impact on climate change, it's the simple fact that hydrocarbons are not renewable. The key will diversified energy resources in the future.

4.8 million down the drain? Or a sound investment?

You will always find people who don't practice what they preach. If you see a doctor or nurse smoking - will you go light one up?

There are a few areas of mass accumulation which are purely situational, as most glacial regions have suffered devastating loss of ice over the past few decades. And it isn't a matter of believing, it is a matter of observation, careful measurements, etc. Science is not trying to prove anything, it is just what it is - the reality of what is happening. But if one tries hard enough, it is easy enough to find the small anomalies that actually shows that the exception "proves" the rule - meaning to test.

Culture barrier, language barrier - new immigrants trying to find their way. Try to picture yourself in Syria or Palestine right now... My aunt used to manage an immigrant shelter in Winnipeg - it closed a few years ago. She'd like to give you a good piece of her mind right now...

You're still just scraping snow off the top of the mountain. The root of the problem are all the weapons and armoured vehicles being sold to wealthy countries in the Middle East. And North American support for governments who suppress minorities. Fight the battles we can win. I have a problem with who's fighting them - there's no real desire to fix the problems

It comes down to optics. Remember Harper in '06 getting Emerson to cross the floor shortly after the election? There was more to the story but at that point optics were everything. Sometimes you wonder who's advising the PM...

$11 per hour with meals included is decent pay. It may also be full room and board - we don't have that info

By suing for only $50,000 you have a very good chance of settling out of court with the league. But there was no signed contract. Not even a handshake deal. Can an email hold up in court for "a contractual guartantee"? They might offer them something like 30K to avoid the hassle. Happens all the time and every two bit lawyer knows it.
