  1. Yes...we see what you did there
  2. Because they will be lousy team with or without Hank.
  3. IMO dominant import DBs are not that easy to find. The CFL would be full of Chris Randalls if they were
  4. I always found Buck to be more of an ad lib QB who liked to hold on to the ball longer than most
  5. How much help did Hutch have in the third vs. Boston? I think that's a fair question. There's a ton of pressure on both goaltenders right now.
  6. It's as good as done - do not underestimate the power of MBB
  7. A very impressive win, excellent start to Christmas Break
  8. The wit is really dry, right now...... Yes yes, quite
  9. Wonderful news - and nice to see that you've recovered with your dry wit intact. I shall raise a glass of Chivas to you this Friday night
  10. Give Etch their DL to work with and our D would have looked much better. Except Etch doesn't want big guys. He wants small versatile guys, so he wouldn't even want them. Our lines were virtually the same size. Chick is 250, Foley 256, & George is 277 at DT. That's almost identical size to Peach, Vega, & Bryant. What do your linebackers weigh? We could tell you...but then we'd have to kill you...
  11. You've said that and pretty much everything that's possible to say. Heck, you called him expendable after he'd played a good game on D. We get what you're saying, but there's more than one perspective to your argument. For example, it's important to be reasonably competitive while building for the future.
  12. Expendable: of little significance when compared to an overall value, and therefore able to be discarded
  13. Calvillo's wife was diagnosed with cancer towards the end of '07 season.
  14. I don't know if we can pin the failings of the 2014 offence on Bellefeuille or the OL. Is Bellefeuille's offence (and Willy) effective with a league average OL or better? Does the offence (and/or the QB) make the OL look worse than it is. Personally, I think both statements are somewhat true. Bellefeuille's offence can't truly be evaluated if the QB is having to improvise as often as Willy had to in 2014; but the guy was a statue in the pocket as the season wore on. I think if we're throwing money at problems, I throw it at the OL and the DC. If the OL improves, Bellefeuille's offence MAY be better in 2015. Etch's scheme is a known quantity, and HE brought in the players he wanted to fit in the scheme. That's not a failure you can lay at the feet of the players. It's the OC's plays that tell the OL where they need to go. According to January, the schemes were not very good and made the OL look bad. And from what I saw, I tend to agree. You can give MB all the best OL in the world and I bet our offense will still suck. Bellefeuille made Calvillo look like he was washed up and the montreal OL look useless in 07 that says a lot right there. I have to agree with that - Calvillo took some serious punishment that year - particularly from the boys in blue and gold.
  15. Sounds like a CFL DE to me.
  16. We tend to forget how good the D was that year, under Mark Nelson. It's a bit sad that the excellence of that group was overshadowed by Kelly's antics.
  17. What more is there to say? He made our OL better when he was starting but he couldn't stay healthy. Good player to have around but we still need to try to upgrade in free agency.I'm assuming the comment was directed at the guano fanboys and bomber previous regime haters completely hijacking this thread..Personally, I'd like to know if he is looking at being a guard or becoming a tackle.. Also, if he will be fully healed up.. Also, if he got a raise or if its a bonus laden contract.. That's an interesting typo... By design old chum, by design... I nated out their for a moment.. behave
  18. And this is why politically correctedness is out of control.. It really wasn't homophobic in anyway shape or form.. But if someone can misconstrue it to be homophobic then darn tootin' it will be labelled as such.. Meh - I think it's heterophobic

  20. Oh yes, the classic rationale is 'today's D-men wouldn't let him sit behind the net like that.' Maybe they wouldn't - but then he'd just have another trick up his sleeve.
  21. Not to mention they'd also have far better equipment. Skates in particular were brutal in that era.
  22. Yeah but the Riders talent base was this wide & that thin.... Besides a smart ass attitude by both Barrett & Shivers did them in. Not to mention Nealon Greene and whoever they were trying to turn into a QB.
  23. Himself... I can see him calling the plays. Concur - bet he'll hire someone to burn the midnight oil though...
  24. That doesn't carry the same weight in the CFL as it does in other leagues. No one's been better in the CFL. That carries a lot weight IMO. There's Hufnagel the team builder and Barker the QB swindler...
  25. The Lions relying on Lulay for next season seems a lot like us going into 2013 with Pierce. I would also argue that Buono signed Kevin Glenn because he was concerned about Lulay's durability.
