I'm assuming this comment is directed at me... I never said Willy sucks. I said he's been awful in the second half of the season, which is 100% true. Based on this downward spiral he's been in, I'm fairly confident that Marve gives us a better chance to win at this point. Furthermore, my belief that Marve is a capable quarterback stems from more than just one quarter of football. He evidently has potential, as shown in mini-camp, in preseason, in practice, and again in limited regular season action. He could stand to gain some experience, and as such, I'm somewhat disconcerted in O'Shea's decision to start Willy this week. It was directed at no one in particular. A young QB with little experience, on whom the opposition now has some film and can game plan against him. I'm not an expert by any means, but I think Calgary would draw up a plan that forces him to stay in the pocket. Do really think a team with a good defense and solid coaching would him let ad-lib the way he did? Don't you remember what happened when Buck was forced to stay in the pocket?

At least...the conversation has gone from 'Willy sucks and needs to sit' to 'Willy should sit because he's hurt and Marve could use some experience.' But to say that Marve gives us a better chance to win because of one half of garbage time...is just not even worth commenting on.

Yep, BC didn't cover our receivers or anything like that. They don't have the best pass D in the league either...nothing like that... Yes, BC has the #1 pass defence in the league, and are #4 against the run….AND, 2nd best defence overall. They had good coverage, especially in the 2nd half. Having said that…. USABFan (metric version) brought up a good point in post #73, and that is : "there should at least be some kind of safety valve player to get the ball to" 10 sacks. They are not all on the O-Line, they get blame, of course, and Willy had chances to throw the ball away, but our OC chooses to have Cotton brush block instead of he, or the FB, slipping out for a safety valve for Willy to throw to. It's got to be a better offensive alternative to what we've seen. That's one reason why people complain about the OC…he doesn't adapt his game plan to make it easier for Willy to DUMP the BALL, when he's in trouble. If it's good enough for every other QB, why don't we see it more? Indeed. And have a slotback run a crossing route or curl if the RB is staying in to block. I completely agree, I had a good view of most of those sacks. Only 2 - 3 were on the OL.

Can't be sure of that until he gets significant playing time. The chances of it happening are very good...as many of you well know.

Three step drop all day...Willy can be as flat-footed as he likes...

I don't have a prob with so called career politicians. They are elected by the people. If the people think its time to move on they vote them out. Too true. Our local school trustee looked like he'd keep winning his seat until he retired. A lady who volunteers in the schools decided to run against him. She ran an excellent campaign and lost by only 35 votes last election. This time around she beat him by a by over 300 votes.

Anyone whose watched football for a few years should know that Marve will probably struggle when teams have watched tape and game planned for his tendencies.

Willy, Bellefeuille, this one is on you guys!

I watched the OL closely last night. They got beaten a few times, but overall they had an above average game. -
Willy had time to chuck the ball downfield on the last play. By the time he got sacked a couple of receivers were already standing still in the endzone.

Remember the 30 yarder that he missed...that was actually a tipping point in the game. With those 2 points (he kicked a single) they can kick the convert after the last TD and be down by two points instead of 5 at the end of the game.

It may be that...you never can tell with server rebellion...

Lions @ Bombers GDT - - Win Or You're Out

Anyone know anything about donating toys at the game tonight? -
There's lies, damn lies, and statistics...

I think that's a fair comment. Judy was done as soon as it became clear that Steeves wasn't going to be a factor in splitting the vote.

There's more this than you think. Islamic extremists do not just occur by random chance. There are schools in the middle east where these people are trained. Trained to be violent and trained to have a very narrow world view. Does that have anything to do with the shootings in Ottawa? Maybe not. Does Canada need to be on the alert? You better believe it. But it's really not Islam, the truth is it's the consequences of Colonialism. The Middle East is fighting back, using the Islamic religion as their vehicle for doing so.

That's the problem...I emptied him...

Better keep starting 2 - 3 Americans...but improve the bloody scouting...

I'm convinced...it's time to do some serious research on ISIS. I don't know very much about them beyond the basics, but they will clearly impact us in a big way.

It didn't help...but its impact was blown out of proportion by Adler and Cloutier...IMO

It seem Oulette drew some of Judy's votes, while the collapse of Steeves gave more votes to Bowman. I'm a little stunned, but quite happy to be wrong.

Sign don't mean a whole lot. In one federal election out here in the Interlake, you would've thought Ed Schreyer would win for the NDP based on signs and hype. The election wasn't even close.

. What does that say about Ricky Ray and his zero MOP awards in 12 years or so? Unfortunately Ray had his best years while playing for a terrible Esks team. The guy was absolutely amazing, throwing for 5000 yards behind a porous OL and no running game to speak of.

If I've learned anything about elections the last few years, it's that talk radio hype and debate means very little. Guys like Charles Adler are usually preaching to the choir. Do you really think anyone who listens to Chuck Adler ever had any intention of voting for Judy W in the first place?

The general lack of respect for Damon Allen is hard to understand. especially coming from people that seem to know something about football x's and o's I'm old enough to remember him looking at his first read, not finding it open, and taking off. And if we all just sing kumbaya, there goes the debate.
