  1. Haven't you heard? It's Subway partnered with Kleenex
  2. Only because I think this is a good topic to discuss, I will make it easy for you. imo the only significant injury that has cost us has been at long snapper. Zach Anderson, Nic Moore, and Jason Vega.
  3. If you've watched the trends for 20 years, you can see that offences always take longer to adjust. It's worth noting that more Canadians start on offense, so it may take longer to find new talent.
  4. At the risk of actually fitting a square peg into a round hole...I'll just leave it at that.
  5. All QB injuries around the league considered...Edmonton is looking like a solid contender this year.
  6. Fair point. They are showing every sign of a team with a young QB and few other pieces missing right now.
  7. It's a matter of perspective. You can't really compare the current roster to the one that started the season, mostly due to injuries. It's pretty hard to measure progression when so many guys who started the first game are not playing. It's the same standard for all teams in the league, injuries effect everyone. Of course it is. But it was clear going into the season that they could ill-afford injuries at certain positions. Measuring their improvement by that standard means you're measuring how much they could improve their depth during the season. Depth isn't very likely to improve after TC.
  8. BC put up a whopping 7 pts on the Stamps. Cgy lost to Mtl. Any team can beat anyone on any given day. Riders have a good team, sorry but that is a fact.Let me guess, you wrote off the Riders last year during their 4 game losing streak? Was Durant hurt during that stretch last season? If not, I don't see the comparison. Going by the majority of the comments on here before Durant got hurt, he isn't all that valuable. Funny how that works hey? I'll only say this once: Durant is who he is. He's a QB who tends to throw a lot of floaters, but that doesn't matter when he has speedy receivers who will catch just about anything. Ever since he's been there, the Riders have had a very good OL and running game. Durant has been more of a game manager who was capable of throwing long strikes to guys like Dressler. All of that being said, without Durant managing the game and being a deep ball threat, the Riders are just not very good. Some have said that all Sunseri has to do is 'manage the game.' That's far easier said than done.
  9. There's also a high number of dominant defensive players league-wide. Gone are the days when it was just Cam Wake and a few others.

  11. He obviously should have called the plays that the Esks couldn't stop! what a moran. Cortez has been terrible lately. I would not be disappointed if he lost his job. Yeah fire arguably the best OC in the league because a backup qb in his first chances to start doesn't look good... the things some of you say. If you fired Cortez there would be a lineup of teams picking him up. And the answer to the QBs struggles isn't to do the same play calls every possession. The answer probably isn't to fire him, but he needs to pick up his socks. Sunseri doesn't look like he can execute a wide variety of plays. Not the first rookie QB who struggled mightily, nor will he be the last. It's all about how you perform once the rest of the teams have some film of you.
  12. Looking at the QBs league-wide, one would think offenses should be better. Outside of Montreal, everyone has a decent - excellent starting QB. IMO, OL play is the biggest factor. There are far too many plays where QB's are getting harassed and hit. There aren't any rushing stats that jump out at you either.
  13. Is there even a track for this thread to stay on?
  14. Very true but I just can't see Miller caving in to the pressure by the media. I tend to agree...but stranger things have happened. This regime looks, feels, smells, and acts different...I hope that continues...
  15. And...then they want him to say he has a bad team? Bad coaches? Because then all they'll do is starting talking about how the Bombers are rebuilding again. Team management that caves in to pressure from media and fans has been a chronic problem for about the past 10 years. The Kevin Glenn release (with no real plan at QB) was a classic example. Everyone made enough noise and management gave in. It wasn't just Mike Kelly either; Brendan Taman made some rather telling comments shortly after the '08 season.
  16. Watching the B.C. defense pretty much shut down Calgary...our O didn't actually do that badly against them last week. You've got a top notch secondary combined with a tough as nails DL that gives Bighill and Elimimian room to roam.
  17. First, I will say that the single biggest factor in the game was the blocked punt that went for a TD. You don't usually beat an evenly matched opponent when you let that happen. But...they went with 5 receivers on the last drive...leaving an extra blocker to help the OL. They'd had success on some quick slants, but Hammy had those covered. I would say Hammy focussed on the quick, short stuff and hoped their guys in the back would be able to cover. Turns out they didn't have to...back to back overthrows and a time count violation. IMO, this comes down to lack of confidence in the running game and the OL.
  18. It just proves the old adage. No matter how good your running game is, it's literally nothing if your passing game isn't a threat. I also think the Riders just happen to be a team that matches up well against the Bombers' defence. Edmonton has a little more beef in their front seven. Couple that with an ineffective QB who's greener than grass, and the skids are well greased.
  19. Did you read the whole thread? If so, stop trolling.
  20. Sorry guys...forgot about this thread. Yeah...it's all good
  21. All things must come to an end (good or not)
  22. Hats off to Tino the game manager
  23. Next time you get a chance to see Durie live, take a good look. The guy is a good football player...very good at getting open for dump offs and a good blocker too.
  24. Ummmm I don't think of our front four as being that big of a threat. They generate much in BC, whose OL isn't that great.
  25. Well...this contest shrunk in a hurry
