  1. This league is amazing. Hang in there all season...get some talent back from the NFL... And go on a playoff run...
  2. x2. He runs with a low centre of gravity that makes him bloody hard to bring down. Pathetic that Hammy gets a TD on that lame duck throw to Gable...full credit to him though Good strategy by the Als at the end. One shot at the endzone to try for the win, then kick the FG to tie it up.
  3. That single by Dales looms large...Hammy has to score a major here...
  4. East: It doesn't matter who wins today...Ray and the Argos will win next Sunday Argos win the East West: The Riders should win today, but my gut says B.C. Sheets has played well against B.C. but with Lulay back Lions > Riders. Durant does not play well in the playoffs. It's hard to predict next weekend. Calgary has a good all around team, but this will come down to how well Glenn plays Call me crazy...but BC wins the West Grey Cup Argos. Even if it's vs. Calgary, I think Toronto wins it again. Ray is the best QB in the playoffs, and he has played well in bad weather.
  5. My thoughts so far: neither team will beat RR and the Boatmen next week.
  6. They 'seemed' to apply that logic when they hired Burke, Lapolice, Kelly, et. al.
  7. So...we're into the last week of the season...none of the games matter any more... The East is set, none of the teams will change position, win or lose The West is closer, but Saskatchewan holds the tie breaker against BC. Even if they both finish 11 - 7 (which is possible) play off positioning will not change. Meanwhile in Winnipeg: the end has come...at last.
  8. Consider all the coaches and GM's they've been paying not to coach. They've been over spending with poor results
  9. Not there are too many other comparisons between the two...but that's the style Dinwiddie always played. Stand like a statue and take the hits.
  10. Good stuff. I've noticed similar things but never took the time to analyze it like that.
  11. On the plays where we had more protection than blockers...was it failure to recognize and react to stunts or was the OL just physically getting beat?
  12. It may take Montreal out of the Collaros sweepstakes...but it raises more questions about our own scouting...
  13. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bYJMtn6IJeE
  14. Most QB's don't win their first game back after injury. This one went right down to the wire...
  15. It will help but we need a competent QB too. We have at best a competent backup in Hall. I didn't think I needed to say that...goes without saying Competent players on the OL line too. Shannon Boatman, need I say more? Precisely. Not that it wasn't obvious, but even people who aren't Bomber fan were wondering why he was starting for us.
  16. We have to talk about something...
  17. i agree.. a young proven QB is desirable. Since none are available, we are left with 2 choices.. go hard after a vet QB like ray (if available) Glenn or Burris.. or go with a young but unproven like Collaros or any of the other backups.. same boat as seasons past... this kick of the can i really hope we go for a 3-5 season gate keeper and eithrler trade or FA the next one.. we can ill afford another clown show offense next season.. Precisely. This team will be in deep trouble if the O is still this bad next year. Both in the seats and on the field.
  18. I agree. To develop him behind our O-line? We won't get RR, but I'd take simply because he'd make this team look better while they rebuild.
  19. If by some miracle Toronto decided to protect Collaros instead of Ray... In my opinion, that would be the best possible scenario for the Bombers. A younger QB like Collaros probably wouldn't adjust very well to a subpar OL. Ray could run an offence similar to the one they wanted Pierce to run this year. If they can add / retain some talent on D and have a half-decent running game, this team could be .500 with Ray's ball-control quick release offence. But I dare say it's not going to happen. I think RR will take the Argos into the playoffs with some good momentum (they play us twice, the Als once) and a first place berth. That should translate into a GC appearance. Calgary should come out of the West. While they have an enviable QB situation overall, I think RR is a better starter than any their three. If it's Ray vs. Glenn or Mitchell, I think the Argos will win another championship. RR in Winnipeg...that's almost impossible... Just my 0.02
  20. This was another game that was decided by a couple of big plays. BC ties it up but a big Cornish run and a pick 6 seal the deal
  21. Re Manning: particularly when he's not happy with the protection
  22. There seems to be a perception that this team needs to start two import tackles. If they could get a decent Canadian starting at tackle, that would be a step in the right direction, IMO. Not saying that's Neufeld, but Neufeld could be depth or maybe a half-decent starter. And even if they do start two imports @ OT going forward, there's no reason why a Canadian can't back them up.
  23. Dickenson? Stamps OC...oui?
  24. They aren't term limits. They can be re-elected to the Board for multiple terms. I'm thinking it'd be something like school trustees...win by acclamation every four years.
