The Bombers Won't Win Again This Season
Can you explain how we are being exposed exactly? we are in these games for the most part, The redblack game was a stinker and so was the bc game (willy got hurt tho) but the team has had chances to win, they keep making mistakes tho, turnovers, special teams turnovers have killed us this season, you eliminate those special teams turnovers and we probably win 2 vs sask, the bc game? man The D held us in right until the 4th but when you are playing your 2nd string qb who has had like no reps, and can't move the offence at all, eventually the D will tire out. We got blown out by the redblacks sure, but again mistakes, tackling issues, turnovers. If we could actually eliminate our mistakes (mainly turnovers and special team blunders) we would have won several of those games. How are we being exposed exactly? outside of one game vs ottawa and one game vs bc, and i suppose the toronto game, we have been in every game this year with a chance to even win most of them.. Exposed? How? This team is 6-8 right now but eliminating mistakes and turnovers, which easily could have been avoided if we actually had some depth at some positions, guess easier said than done tho, that 6-8 easily could be 10-4. we have been blown out once, just so happens it was against the worst team in the league but besides that game and the other 2 i mentioned, we could have won every other game we lost if not for shooting ourselves in the foot. I don't disagree with you entirely. However, football games are usually won or lost by one or two big plays (often turnovers). Also, many of those turnovers were not as easy to avoid as you make it sound. A good number of them were the cumulative result of too much pressure on Willy and poor snapping on punts. If anything, I dare say there could have been MORE turnovers on special teams. I think the point though, is that with some small improvements it is possible to turn those big plays the other way and win some more games. It's not like this team is in a huge hole, just some things to clean up and more wins will follow. Sure. Like a better long snapper and an improved offensive line. There was potential for a lot more botched snaps to be turnovers. Some alert plays by the punter have saved the day several times.

Lawless: Bombers need to sign Ben Heenan
But here's the thing, Labatte has admitted that he didn't even talk about his desire to not switch to centre with the Bombers. So the situation is one where the Bombers outline their plan for the player but the player doesn't tell them he doesn't like that. You think if he had said he wasn't keen on it that the Bombers wouldn't have changed their tune if it meant keeping him? That's where you realize that Labatte really wasn't all that interested in staying with the Bombers. He didn't put in effort with them to get things worked out with Winnipeg on his terms, he just used them to drive up what he could get from the Riders. Sure, he could've talked to them about it; but one gets the impression Mack didn't listen to too many people.

Time To Make Carl Volny The Number 1 RB And Use Stoudemire On End Arounds
That was the year before Trestman brought in those max protection schemes. But those only worked because of Calvillo's ability to throw pin point passes.

Esks at Argos.
Argos are playing good football in October. Good protection for RR most of the game today.

I still think Calgary is tops in the west provided Cornish and BLM are healthy... but will they be? That's the real question. Whether it's health or attitude related, Cornish has been inconsistent this year. The Calgary team we saw last night won't make it out of the West. Only on pace for 2100 yards over 18 games. Could hit 3000 if he ever found consistency. He's only touched the ball 20 times once this season too. They were supposed to ride him to a GC championship last year...didn't happen.

There was a PI call on the original 2 point convert attempt. Funny how I forgot about PI...pretty anything else would be half the distance to the goal.

I didn't catch the end of the game. Why was the Argos 2 point convert right at the goal line?

Esks at Argos.
TSN didn't show an angle from the view of the official which was the angle needed to see a push off and Watkins was pretty much admitting he did it so how could you tell it wasn't PI? Watkins admits it but Jones throws the challenge flag...those two things don't quite jive.

yep You're agreeing with your own post. Thank you Captain Obvious

They'll give him the TD to even up for the phantom PI

How was that PI? smh

Whatever RR audibled on that TD...was clearly the right call. Good protection and Owens was wide open.

Odds and Sods - Winnipeg Expansion Team vs Ottawa RedBlacks
Either of those gives Ottawa similar field position...D still needs to execute.

The Bombers Won't Win Again This Season
A few days ago I was posting just how bad a DC Etch is & how I want him gone. He was being defended by more than a few here saying that his defense saved games for us & kept us in others. It wasn't the defense, the posters said that was a problem. It was the offense. Well, we travel to Ottawa lose embarrassingly to the worst team in the CFL & a couple of our major problems was the inability to tackle & stop the run which has been the way it's been defensively all season. I want Etch gone but I'm getting the impression that MOS will stubbornly go down with his coaches before he fires any of them so we're stuck with this guy for the long term. The offense scored 13 points last night...that's not enough to win.

Odds and Sods - Winnipeg Expansion Team vs Ottawa RedBlacks
A missed FG on third and five puts the Redblacks at the 35 (assuming no return). The same scenario could've unfolded either way.

Should The Bombers Fix The D Next Week By Having Teague Sherman Spy Reilly Every Down?
Sure, let's watch Sherman tackle some more air...

Lions @ Tiger-Cats
Collaros against the BC D will be interesting to watch...or not. I think BC has the best D in the league right now. Based on recent games, I see BC or Edmonton coming out of the West.
-
Rider @ Stamps
The Calgary secondary nearly gave that one away. For whatever reason, the CFL website isn't showing any of Doege's stats.

Interesting Quote in Pentons weekly CFL Blitz

Durant likely to return this season
There's a lot of talent in Saskie. Probably more than any other town in Canada. Including the doctors. Welcome Rod. We've been waiting for you to join this forum for along time. Please make and lose a bet immediately...

Time for some tough love on....
The men in the tinfoil hats would surmise that the CFL needs the eastern teams to win and they must have blocked the communication channel that the WBB's were using ensuring that the call couldn't be communicated from MB to Willy. There's really no other explanation. Am I the only one that saw Austin on the sidelines with rabbit ears and a HeathKit? No way, he borrowed a walkie talkie set from a kid in the stands. They taped it to the centre's butt and all Collaros had to do was listen for the calls.
