Bob Wylie 2014 Midterm Report Card
Remember Calvillo in 2007? It looked he was done...improved protection the following season added a few more years to his career. The Bombers need to get serious about protection. If we're starting 2 - 3 Americans, we should have a good line in spite of our shoddy CIS draft record.

Hamilton then Ottawa then Edmonton
An incredibly shoddy OL performance in the second half...almost looked like the Hamilton coaches picked up on certain tendencies to exploit.

Argos @ Leos - GDT - Burke's D vs Glenn
Back to the original topic: after last night, the CFL just got a whole lot more interesting. Toronto should make the playoffs and with RR behind centre they are quite capable for going on a roll. I expect the Stamps to lose unexpectedly at some point. Also, they may go into the playoffs having played several meaningless games. The Edmonton D could wreak havoc in bad weather. Much to be determined yet...

That was quick, nice to see BC lose though

Why not us?
Criticizing Bryant is pointless unless you've watched film and analyzed how much coverage he draws. I know I've seen a few plays where he has been open but the throw wasn't there. But really, there's isn't whole to go on.

TSN Jets... all Jets games now FREE with MTS TV
It seems Bell won't be providing this service, so I'm out. But is anyone else tired of watching regular season hockey? I will check scores and watch highlights, but I'm not serious about following hockey until the playoffs start.

Durant to miss remainder of season
And some of it is legitimate. For example, the big cities carry most of the political clout. There are 'paved' roads in rural MB. that wash out right down to the gravel, and don't get fixed for half a year. Rural people 'put up and shut up' more than many realize. I can show you city streets where this happens... it is not strictly a rural problem. If this happens, it's not in high traffic areas or areas with a lot of semi traffic. In many rural areas there's no consideration that a road might be needed for harvest.

Hutterites
No, but there was a thrashy doc / reality show that aired on National Geo a while ago. They paid a colony in Montana to get it filmed on their yard, then paid certain members to be 'actors.' Pretty much a gong show but it must have been entertaining...the ratings were good.

Bob Wylie 2014 Midterm Report Card
Precisely this. It doesn't even make sense to blame the inept drafting of past regimes. With 3 starting Americans the OL should be better, plain and simple.

Riders unveil their new barn
Not per se, but I'm closely connected to the guys out in the fields. I help with making hay, vegetable harvest, yard work, etc. And also play pac man at the same time . Like I believe this- most Saskatchewanites haven't evolved opposable thumbs as yet. He was talking about Mark. COMON! What were you thinking! You're better then that. Now shake it off and get back in the game! I just got off the combine...would you bloody stop talking about me behind me back?

First you have to have a scheme / execution that limits his short passing game. If he can throw in 2 seconds, all the blitzes in the world aren't going to hit him in the mouth. If beating Glenn were as simple as we can make it sound on paper, he probably wouldn't be in the CFL any more.

Yep. You find out there's not too many things in life that make you happier than plain old hard work.

If you look at the last three games: 1. The Riders are a team that matches up well against the Bombers. In particular, their Offense is well designed to take what a Defense like ours gives them. However, a few less mistakes in those Rider games, and we win in spite of their advantages. 2. Against B.C., the shallow depth of this team was exposed. It was clearly shown that the Bombers can't compete very well with so many starters in the sick bay. But the game was close and our boys were fighting a good fight until Willy went down. IMO, with fewer errors and turnovers they would have 2 wins against the Riders. Mistake free football is what it will take to win one or two games without Willy. But if we keep snapping over the punter's head, fumbling at critical times, costly drops from receivers, giving up long kick returns etc. etc. etc. we'll be hard pressed to win even with Willy behind centre. Will they get some of the other starters back? Can they limit mistakes in spite of playing with a depleted line up? Just my 0.02

Winnipeg @ BC - final thoughts.
Agreed. The inability to find better import talent for the OL is vexing to say the least.

Pass protection hasn't been that bad in recent games.

Riders @ Ti-Cats
Blah, blah, blah...why do you always need to prove you were right? Blah, blah, blah...it's so exhausting. Blah, blah, blah... What's wrong with patting yourself on the back? If you make a good call, there's nothing wrong with it. As Yogi Berra always said "if you can do it ya ain't bragging"

Now it's Adrian Peterson alleged beating of a child
Just to add to what Iso wrote. Any spanking beyond the use of your bare hand is illegal in Canada. Spanking a child older than 11 or younger than 2 is also illegal.
