  1. It's a tad early - to start the funeral parade for the Argos.
  2. I think Walters needs to upgrade the o-line, receivers, running backs, quarterback, kicking positions, defensive line, linebackers, defensive backs and coaching staff. The feasibility of being able to make moves that make the team better in-season is what is in doubt. The hell you say. Let's trade Willy for two nationals, a guard and a tackle. Then we'll hire Joe Mack to scour the U.S. for our next QB, whom we'll protect at all costs. Yep, that oughta do it...
  3. Last game, I found Willy only had about 2 - 3 seconds on most passing plays. But that's just from my own mental tally.
  4. When you look at the win-loss record of teams that win the turnover battle I think it becomes clear there is a lot of truth to that. I would expect the overall level of most teams in the league to be close enough that it's the big momentum turning plays that make all the difference. An interception for a touchdown, a blocked punt, a kick return TD, these are all huge plays that flip a game around. I think this game was won almost exclusively because of big plays. 1. The D holding the Als to field goals after the punt fumbles 2. Scoring touchdowns on our two turnovers 3. The winning TD pass on THIRD DOWN
  5. There's nothing to get.
  6. Yes they did. I guess what should say is the quick game needs to function better. I watched parts of the game again today...on several plays quick passes to the flats when the Als brought the house would've gained good yardage. There was literally no one out there. We didn't make them pay for the blitz often enough - until we do teams will be pinning their ears back.
  7. I'm particularly impressed with the D holding teams to field goals when turnovers occur in the red zone. They seem to save their best stuff for critical situations.
  8. Given our lack of adjustment, maybe they will.
  9. We knew Montreal would stack the line, yet a quick passing game was not used to combat it. The Als stack the line, we have just the 5 or 6 guys blocking and Willy is looking 20 - 30 yards down field. The result was...predictable...

    rain?

Lots of people farming insurance this year.
  11. The best buffet ever was a place called Steak and Buffet in Aberdeen, South Dakota. We just randomly found the place. A buffet with tons of selection, with steak and patties made to order on a grill at the end. All for $10! I would've gladly paid at least $25
  12. Royal Fork is over priced
  13. Stella or Carling Fort Garry or Waterloo Dark for ales
  14. I only watched the highlights...OL play can't get much worse than what we're seeing from B.C. and Hamilton. KG is who he is...if you're going to let the other team pummel him...he's not going to be effective.
  15. Worth keeping a bottle of the cheap stuff around in case somone wants a rusty nail or a rob roy. If you wanna lay out the dough for a 'good bottle' may as well get a single malt Just don't get me started on guys who'll ask for single malt...then pour coke into it.
  16. Goossen was struggling till they switched to a quick passing game. Solid adjustment by MB. Sure hope Greaves isn't injured long term.
  17. Skinners is alive and well - I go there because they have blue licorice ice cream (blue tongue is the bane of my wife's existence) Half Moon around the corner is pretty great too.
  18. Weather looks great - should be a good night of FOOTBALL.
  19. Not a fan. Too much money for a blend. I know some blends are really good -- in fact one of my favourite scotches is a blend-- however JW doesn't do it for me. If I want cheap blended scotch I prefer Dewars or Grants over JW red. Try Grant's with an Ale (blue label) or Sherry (green label) cask finish. Really smooth, but MLCC doesn't carry it any more. It's still in Ontario though.
  20. No, but I love Jameson's; I'll have to give it a try some time.
  21. What you guys think of the Johnnie Walkers? I find they all taste pretty much the same, unless you're drinking some of the really high end ones.
  22. One word: venue If you'd ever been to a game in Toronto, you would understand. It's grid-locked and most people live nowhere near Skydome. For most it's two hours on the subway to get there, then two hours back home after the game. When you're trying to attract casual fans, that's a recipe for disaster. Oh and you can't even get an Argos beer cup...had to drink beer out of a Blue Jays cup. The Argos are literally second class citizens in that city.
  23. I don't think we'll get too many hits on Burris, no matter how many times we say it on here. We say the same thing every time the Bombers play Kevin Glenn. I do think he's more of an ad-libber than Ricky Ray, so it'll be interesting to see how our D adjusts to that. Given that he'll be facing a D with a different look, I think Willy is going to struggle this week. He'll need more time to read the zone coverage, hopefully the OL is up to the task.
