  1. Restrictions are alive and well at the Canada / U.S. border - depending on who's on duty that day.
  2. He also knows when to leave - he has a history of that.
  3. If that is the case, then it doesn't say much about a significant number of the Jets' players If they become a contender under Trotz, then it will be clear that many of them have underperformed in 2021 - 2022
  4. You'd have to get very rigorous then, because partisanship and favoritism are entrenched in this country. I have heard an MP say to a fairly large group of people from across Canada "that he needed to 'repay people' who had helped him get elected."
  5. I read the article as "the Crown is arguing that she should be returned to jail." I don't see how "the possibility of speaking at a gala" can be a valid reason for sending someone back to jail.
  6. We've heard this drama before. No one can afford to hold up the season...and they won't.
  7. Sounds like a whole lot of smash mouth football.
  8. The company is called Lakeland today - we get our milk delivered from there.
  9. It would be interesting to know if there was a difference in how RBs were utilized In today's game, they are mostly the outlet valve as a receiver, and they have to fight for much of their yardage
  10. The absolute brilliance of getting him here as an FA, and then keeping him here for so many seasons, cannot be overstated It has been said before - he was one of the key components of the 'culture shift'
  11. Just so I'm clear - you're saying he did this in Columbus?
  12. Yes, in the mid - 70s all the way to the early 90s, the only real way to make money with grain was to feed it to livestock But more recently, it is quite possible to do well with farming exclusively grain But the CWB was not the issue - because grains other than wheat or malting barley were also priced very low Barley was as low as 90 cents a bushel in 1980s, so you could make a killing feeding it to hogs or cattle
  13. Fair comment. One difference I would point out: fewer large semis vs. many small grain trucks
  14. Since we're doing receiver confessions - I was excited when Taman signed Wane McGarrity.
  15. But don't forget - the trucks were still hauling the grain to the local elevators, even when the trains were running. We haul our grain to Patterson on the West perimeter. From there, it gets shipped further (usually south) by train. The vast majority of Canada's exported grain is still moved by train.
  16. I don't. I will drink rye and coke maybe once a month. My go tos are: Crown Royal on the rocks, Scotch on the rocks, or an ice cold 1919
  17. We found that the Wheat Board paid quite well, but it took longer to get your money. But, we felt we didn't need the CWB, because we were marketing the rest of our crops ourselves. I don't know about that. Compared to the cost of planting, cultivating and harvesting, the cost of hauling your grain to a larger centre is peanuts.
  18. I have always preferred Pepsi, because I found Coke to be too sweet. I did not notice a metallic taste before Covid.
  19. Ever since I had Delta back in November, Pepsi has a strange metallic taste. The grand days of rye & pepsi are over.
  20. Fair enough. And I think it would have been removed either way. Every majority government does pretty much what they want - that's just reality.
  21. So, the procedures are what you're on about. That was textbook politics in general.
  22. If you're looking to criticize Harper, you'll find that the Wheat Board is not a good issue to do it on.
  23. The wheat board was a non-issue. We didn't need a board to market any of our other crops. No one in Canada grows exclusively wheat on their farm. To be honest, most farmers quit farming because their kids no longer want to farm. And with land prices insanely high, it's a great time to get out. 100% correct. There are no more small farmers raising hogs, but still plenty that raise cattle or poultry.
