  1. Sorry, I thought you were asking what the money was spent on.
  2. 1. Increased transfers to the provinces (MB. alone has increased by more than 1 billion annually) 2. Pandemic spending - I'm sure most of CERB was borrowed money
  3. I am referring to rapid tests being 50% accurate. Whether the person being tested has symptoms makes a big difference to the accuracy of the test.
  4. It depends what rationale the comment is based on. Was the doctor talking about testing people with symptoms? Or were they referring to testing both symptomatic and asymotomatic?
  5. Based on the current metal prices, all of that fossil fuel infrastructure can be recycled for a considerable amount of cash Number 1 copper is as high as $5 per pound, aluminum cans are over 80 cents per pound
  6. That's a good start - I hope we see much more of that
  7. Slips in to check if the Jets forum still exists....leaves immediately
  8. If it's just going to continue filling the general revenue coffers, then I would actually agree with scrapping it. It could be revamped into a positive good that no one could argue against.
  9. Exactly. The money should be used for green initiatives: 1. Plant trees 2. Research and develop biomass/carbon neutral energy sources Etc. Etc.
  10. Throw in a sour apple sucker...and you've got a deal.
  11. 12% of the world's total. Which makes them the world's largest oil exporter. They supply more than half of Europe's oil.
  12. No. Staff can choose whether we wear masks or not.
  13. I am not so sure about that. Germany gets 1/3 of their raw oil from Russia, and 1/2 of their gas (I heard this in a German newscast, that I use for German language instruction: https://www.zdf.de/kinder/logo/logo-vom-freitag-4-maerz-2022-102.html) That's just one European nation. How much extra cost is Europe willing (or able) to absorb?
  14. My point being - there are water shortage issues in places other than the prairies.
  15. Water adundance is not just a myth on the prairies.
  16. Excuse me if this was already posted elsewhere
  17. The Holocaust and WWII also get pretty complicated, the more you look into them The Allies were not innocent, and I would also include the Canadian Government in that statement But - none of that changed the fact that Hitler needed to be shut down
  18. Indeed. Canada (BNA at the time) carries the honour (sarcasm) of having deliberately infected Aboriginals with small pox My point being, you can find an excuse to invade pretty much every nation on the globe
  19. One night of feeling like I couldn't get enough air - was enough to convince me of the same.
  20. Good luck. I had Delta and I wouldn't have wanted to get too much sicker. But apparentlly omicron is pretty mild if you're boosted.
  21. Same thing with any party - they have their long - term people who come in and take over - whenever there's a regime change. Even opposition back benchers - have 3 to 5 people working in their office.
  22. We'll hear a speech about that...soon.
  23. The long term civil servants are really doing the work.
  24. Sure. I can't imagine a similar protest bring allowed or tolerated in Russia or Ukraine. Thus, they were priveleged. I did say it was mind numbing.
