2022 Off Season - Back 2 Back Champs Edition

Sure. But overall, attendance does drop for playoff games, including in Winnipeg Winnipeg, with one of the GOAT teams, is not a good barometer for the overall situation. -

Sure. We would go to playoff games on the any day in November The casual fan won't - that's the problem -

Does anyone know - if the additional bye week was negotiated by the players' association? -

The 2019 GC was on Nov. 24 - so that's a 4 day bump up Somewhat better - but I would go with the first or second Sunday in November -

Yeah, they made the start of the season earlier, but inserted more by weeks rather than moving the playoffs up a couple of weeks IMO, that was a missed opportunity to improve late fall attendance -
I don't know. But I can confirm that it doesn't show up easily with testing - I've heard that from parents and students The symptoms matched up but multiple rapid tests were negative - the doctor told them to assume it was Omicron
-
PCR and Rapid tests are ineffective when the symptoms are mostly gastro - which for many people they now are

Absolutely. When you watch Gretzky highlights from the 80s...most of those goals would not be scored in 2022 I'm sure he knows that better than anyone
-
Of course. But the D-Men will not play a physical or aggressive game - when it's obvious that certain forwards are not being held accountable for their lacklustre defensive play.
-
Games like this will keep happening - as long as their star forwards are not willing to back check.

Oh absolutely. A left tackle of Bryant's calibre, with a Canadian passport, would be pure gold for any CFL team However, we're seeing hardly any Canadians at the OT positions anymore, and certainly none in the Bryant ballpark -

I am pretty sure top drawer OL like Stanley Bryant are paid the same or more than Canadian OL. -
A goaltender the calibre of Hellebuyck having a bad year - is a reflection of the play in front of him
-
Given what we're seeing from the current CPC members in Parliament, I am okay with that. Something more than finding 100 different ways to say "Trudeau bad" is going to be required of them
-
I disagree that she was playing games. The time for a cabinet minister to question the cozy relationship between SCN - Lavalin and the Feds was past due. It's the kind of thing that used to cause election losses - but somehow not anymore. The last time this happened (although more informally than with Martin / Layton) Stephen Harper made sure it didn't last very long But there is no Harper - this time...
-
That is a tight race in what is supposed to be a safe right wing riding.
-
I just don't know how they can't realize that it won't win them a Canadian election - not even a minority. With past CPC regimes, Trudeau's image/issues would be a clear path to victory.
-
And that is going to continue. The current approach from Bergen, Polliviere, peek a boo Bezan, et. al. will just increase their vote count in ridings they are already winning Add another 10 000 CPC votes in Selkirk Interlake Eastman or Portage Lisgar...while the Liberals will win the key swing ridings in Winnipeg Same thing...across most of the country.

What I don't understand about Dr. Horton's response is - where in the world are they doing anything differently? Canadian provinces have had some of the toughest covid restrictions, in the entire world.
-
Except that Russia should have won and taken over by now - that hasn't happened.

Good points. With the time it takes them to whistle the play in, they are often past 40 seconds, by the time the ball is snapped. Singles I think should be limited to kickoffs and punts. -

I completely agree. I would go as far as saying, this past season, QB protection was abysmal outside of Winnipeg, Hamilton and maybe Toronto Any team that played the Bombers simply could not protect their QB. IMO, the only time our DL was blocked somewhat effectively, was in the Grey Cup Teams are bringing in American DEs and DTs who are close to NFL calibre. Outside of Winnipeg, this is not being matched along offensive lines, especially NOT at the OT positions -

Every burger joint in existence, is capable of giving you the occasional 'bad burger' Having relatives in the potato business (North Dakota) who have direct contracts with McDonald's - I know that their quality control is second to none -
They'd be completely different people if they did.

Yoshi at 17? Wow. I guess he has had some injury issues. That's mind blowing for a 95% shut down OT.
