  1. I think having Andrew Harris at tailback allowed us to start an American (Bond) at guard, for quite a while. Other teams don't have that advantage.
  2. Gradually got himself banned from every CFL board - somewhat of a legend - in that regard. I don't think his bookstore still exists - doesn't call CJOB anymore either.
  3. Then there was the time...when Lyle Bauer challenged Nate to meet him at the stadium...
  4. Bond and Bryant on the left side - that's when the blood shed started.
  5. Who, to be fair, was better than whoever replaced him at the time. QB protection was awful for a few years.
  6. At the time, no one could have predicted Desjarlais and Couture would be shutdown interior linemen. I couldn't help remembering the year Mike Kelly lost 3 Canadian OL in free agency. That led to some pretty awful offensive lines.
  7. No need to shudder, just hand it over.
  8. Chungh signed elsewhere and Goossen retired - things were looking pretty bleak. But, look at the OL we have now.
  9. Morris B, SPuDS and the guy who always wrote in third person. Good times, even if it was a **** show to moderate some seasons.
  10. 1. Alford / Nichols - made the difference - again and again and again 2. Castillo - I'm crying in my scotch if he's not on the team 3. ZC #8 - dealt with more pressure than he's used to, messed up a few times, but delivered when it mattered HH: Andrew Harris - tough yards today - also delivered when it mattered Hit of the Game: Brandon Alexander / Adam Bighill - brought the lumber several times Aside: I was listening to the game on CJOB. On that last incomplete pass for the Cats, I have no idea what the PBP guys were watching. Yes, he could have made the catch, but that was a great play by our half back.
  11. It's not a Grey Cup win...until you've read odds and sods.
  12. Cats short passing game not working so far.
  13. I'm going with one of the Jeffs for MOP & Harris for MOC. Trench warfare will be the difference today.
  14. It's definitely the side that every coach wants to see locked up. If you look at the time before Dejarlais, the Bombers were starting an American at LG as well - shows how much of a priority the left side is.
  15. Agreed. That level of stupidity is beyond belief.
  16. They have the skill, but not the physicality. The Bombers have an indisputable edge at QB and OL. But - any given Sunday...
  17. Already been done - resulted in Michael Oher being massively overrated.
  18. Which is why you spend your biggest OL $$ at the tackle positions.
  19. Cats might make it somewhat interesting for a while. But, as usual, our team will physically wear them down.
  20. Indeed. In particular, DLs are better than OLs across league. Some QBs are not that bad, but when they play teams like Winnipeg, Hamilton, Toronto, or even the Riders, the protection is just not adequate.
  21. At the time, I felt like they were just adding to what was already a great unit. Again, good thing our opinions don't matter.
  22. No doubt. The best RT in the league, and probably the most versatile all around OL. Ouch!
