Someone needs to answer publicly for that, I think there needs to be an explanation given as to why we sunk 160k (lots upfront) into a receiver that we aren’t even considering using

When Lapo posted all that stuff, breaking down the Bombers' D last season, that is not how Hall ran his D.
Harris was also used a lot as a receiver, especially when Nichols was under centre.

Agreed.  5.75 seems right for a shutdown 2nd pairing d man.

solid deal. Shouldn’t be a problem in the future either as wife opened up a dental clinic in the peg.

When the cap is 100 million in a few years (maybe) (they are projecting but economy and stuff ) 5.75 and 7.25 is gonna be normal. Lowry prob won’t get much of a raise tho. Connor will.

D like Samberg are the bedrock of good teams.

No, the D has changed. Richie Hall's D relied a lot more on pressure. Younger's is more coverage based.
The change is not as recent, but the O no longer runs primarily through the RB, both passing and running, the way it did when Andrew Harris was starting.

It can't be as clear cut as this either. Man, this is a very cynical take.

I don’t hate the plan to ground and pound with Brady, Cooley and Strev

Suitor always brought up how both lines would beat up the opposition and by the 4th quarter we wore them down and would be able to run it down their throats.
He still brings this up yet this is no longer true.

You know it wasn't. 2019 and 2021, this was a damn hard team to play against. They physically beat other teams up.

First, I'm not shitting on you.
Some fans pay more attention to the team, that's just how it is.
But one thing is certain: if performances like those we saw this past Saturday keep happening, the casual fans will vote with their feet. It has happened before, it will happen again.
I remember attending a game at the end of 2014. Attendance was poor, and everyone but the die hards was there for the beer. The game consisted of watching Henry Burris and Co. shred our secondary.
There have been some major warning signs. I mean, losing a Grey Cup to Nick Arbuckle - that's quite glaring if you stop to think about it.

Speaking as a long term hard core fan, this is true. It's easier on the psyche to expect less during downward trends. Of course you also get occasional surprises, like 2019 and 2007.

I think most casual and semi casual fans would rather their team be bad than mediocre. In the nba the teams in the worst spot, are the ones in the middle of the none play off pack. Most people perceive the come back from bad, to be easier and shorter than from mediocre.
IMO, in football, if you don’t have the franchise qb, you’re in the same boat as the rest who don’t. And you don’t need a tank or tear down year to turn it around. Calgary this year and Toronto proved that.
I don’t think posters on here want us to lose, I do think a lot of people have low expectations. Until we make better decisions, mine are low.

This is an online forum, for a cfl team, that dates back some 20 years, filled with a bunch of middle aged and older posters. I don’t think any one is confusing posters here with the average fan, on fb or rum hut bro.
Never satisfied? You don’t have to go back far to find out that’s not true.

Not sure what you’re on about, what kind of business has some one giving 1 star restaurant reviews?
Take a look at the training camp media reporting and none bomber media in this city. It’s been close minded positivity and fluff pieces for years, and it’s on the verge of death. Puffed up unrealistic “review” content like that or 3dn/tsn pandering to markets erodes credibility. But if that’s what you want, you can find it.

No one is expecting firings to happen in some short period of time. We all know the reality of the situation with the mafia. Changes, and accountability mid season are what people are talking about and hoping for.

How do you think the 31k feel when they show up expecting the dynasty bombers to show up, and instead sit through us getting blown out? How long until those more casual fans turn on the team and stop showing up?

you don’t want to get $h!7 on, but you get what you give bud. Do you legitimately think it’s better/less annoying to complain about people complaining while not actually contributing to discussion?
Are you really fatigued by people saying these things, or is it that it keeps being true?

Realistic expectations, when you’re talking about a hc/gm thatve been in the same job for 10+ years, and lost back to back championship games, the reality is we are near the of this mafia run. Some parts of it will continue, but some will not. The least probably out come is we go into next year with the same power structure top to bottom. Especially with the heavy reality of the front office cap, and the amount of younger guys we’ve lost to the league. Look at how much of the architects of 19/21 are already gone.

You seem to think that the downward turn and reduced levels of on field success is some how sustainable. A second year with a bad start and losing streak, 3 missed championship opportunities, these things are compiling and leading us to change. It’s only a matter of how extensive and when.

Personally, I think Wade will retire with in a couple years. And I think one of Walters/mos will be gone in the off season, likely Walters.

Sure I was at games also especially at the older stadium with barely anyone there on a September afternoon weekend game. It happens. But I’m curious how much rope they got with the non hardcore fan. Still see tons of ppl wearing bombers stuff every day.  The vocal minority complains but will continue to watch and support. How long until the casuals stop going. That’s when we might see change. I just don’t think 5 or 10 even 50 ppl on here if that right now speaking for 32000 others. That’s all. Devils advocate kind of. What if they win the next 3 now? I mean we all know it’s unlikely but… honestly that’s more likely than firing anyone.
