Mark H. got a reaction from Mr Dee in Are We Making Progress?
It's a matter of perspective. You can't really compare the current roster to the one that started the season, mostly due to injuries. It's pretty hard to measure progression when so many guys who started the first game are not playing.

Is there even a track for this thread to stay on?

Mark H. got a reaction from SPuDS in O'Shea heated in CJOB post game interview
I tend to agree...but stranger things have happened. This regime looks, feels, smells, and acts different...I hope that continues...

Mark H. got a reaction from Jaxon in Time for some tough love on....
First, I will say that the single biggest factor in the game was the blocked punt that went for a TD. You don't usually beat an evenly matched opponent when you let that happen.
But...they went with 5 receivers on the last drive...leaving an extra blocker to help the OL. They'd had success on some quick slants, but Hammy had those covered. I would say Hammy focussed on the quick, short stuff and hoped their guys in the back would be able to cover. Turns out they didn't have to...back to back overthrows and a time count violation.
IMO, this comes down to lack of confidence in the running game and the OL.

Agreed Mark H and what most people fail to realize about Tretsmans offense was that he always had 7 men blocking, that Montreal oline got all the credit but had help too.

Precisely this. It doesn't even make sense to blame the inept drafting of past regimes. With 3 starting Americans the OL should be better, plain and simple.

Mark h talking about some beef straight from the farm inspired me to get some. Delicious stuff.

Mark H. reacted to TrueBlue in Hamilton then Ottawa then Edmonton
Poor adjustments at half with Brohm being the QB were part of the problem. I am thinking we tailor the offensive game plan a little more if he is indeed going to start against Hamilton. Need more emphasis on the run. I was really surprised that we pretty much abandoned it in the second half against BC despite being in it for most of the time.
I'd give us more than a 51% chance at beating Hamilton at home with Brohm, provided that his receivers actually get open, and we can get Grigsby moving a little more.

If you look at the last three games:
1. The Riders are a team that matches up well against the Bombers. In particular, their Offense is well designed to take what a Defense like ours gives them. However, a few less mistakes in those Rider games, and we win in spite of their advantages.
2. Against B.C., the shallow depth of this team was exposed. It was clearly shown that the Bombers can't compete very well with so many starters in the sick bay. But the game was close and our boys were fighting a good fight until Willy went down.
IMO, with fewer errors and turnovers they would have 2 wins against the Riders. Mistake free football is what it will take to win one or two games without Willy. But if we keep snapping over the punter's head, fumbling at critical times, costly drops from receivers, giving up long kick returns etc. etc. etc. we'll be hard pressed to win even with Willy behind centre.
Will they get some of the other starters back? Can they limit mistakes in spite of playing with a depleted line up?

Yep. You find out there's not too many things in life that make you happier than plain old hard work.

Not per se, but I'm closely connected to the guys out in the fields. I help with making hay, vegetable harvest, yard work, etc.

I'd add the mistake of receivers NOT fighting to get open will continue to spell disaster.

Mark H. got a reaction from DR. CFL in O'Shea hands away the LDC
Receivers, especially slots, being offside is a regular 'non-call' in the CFL.
If the Bombers win this game, no one is talking about receivers being offside.

Totally agree with you.
But too much of that provides fodder for the negatrons....who have typing Diarrhea after a loss at the best of times.
