Bombers had to settle for field goals early and Hamilton gets the big play kick return and manages to punch their chances into the endzone rather than kicking field goals, that's CFL ball right there. Game looks like it's going one way but a couple plays later it's flipped around. 

I have to give extra kudos for two players on the team who have been questioned as to why they are on this team.
They worked their butts off tonight and were prominent in securing this victory.
For two unsung heroes,
Greg Peach, who had a hell of a game tonight 5 tackles, 2 sacks and constant pressure,
and Aaron Kelly who came in tonight and picked up where Nick Moore left off, 7 catches 101 yards.

Haha, I didn't mean our drivers were fantastic. But these guys just seem like they're in a different world.

IMO the OL is starting to gel. Pass protection was better than decent in  BC and will only improve when Greaves is back in there. 

Hey folks - what's with all the negative vibes today?
 
I would say this game unfolded pretty much exactly the way it needed to if the Bombers were going to win.  A smothering performance from the D combined with a workmanlike approach from the O.  Well okay, BC blew several opportunities (holding on ST's really hurt them) to help our cause. 
 
I for one was not expecting the O to be very productive against the best pass D in the CFL.  250 yards through the air and some MUCH IMPROVED protection for Drew Willy is pretty darn decent  Not to mention a beautifully executed hitch on the Denmark TD.  
 
Grigsby had his up and downs but play-action seemed to be effective when they used it.  He was a key release valve on a couple of blitzes.  
 
The D kept Harris in check and got pressure on Glenn right from the get-go.  Harris / Logan looked decent but never really did any serious damage.  To me it looked like Etch was forcing BC to beat them with the pass, and quite frankly they couldn't.  
 
ST was looking good too - nice work on coverage, kicking (!), and punting.  
       

Losing Inman to the NFL plus all the injuries they have. Even RR can't make chicken salad out of chicken ****.

The winning TD drive in the Montreal game? Safe to say that would've been a loss.

3 Canadian receivers who are legitimate starters - maybe our National depth isn't so bad after all.

We knew Montreal would stack the line, yet a quick passing game was not used to combat it.  The Als stack the line, we have just the 5 or 6 guys blocking and Willy is looking 20 - 30 yards down field.
 
The result was...predictable...

Last game, I found Willy only had about 2 - 3 seconds on most passing plays.  But that's just from my own mental tally.

It's great to have exciting punt returns now and again but the point of the game is to win.  Washington's mistakes made this a much closer contest than it needed to be.  Ball security is the first priority with punt returners, accumulating yards the second.  If the offence is moving the ball effectively it doesn't matter much where they start on the field excluding being pinned on their goal line.  It's the offences job to advance the ball down field and if they can't do that and have to rely on great punt returns for good field position chances are they are going to lose the game.   The defencive side of special teams is in reality much more important for maintaining field position with good punt placement and containment.  

The defense kept a lot of points off the board and put 13 up themselves.
 
Willy led the miraculous drive to win, but Montreal wins easy if the Bombers give up a TD on one of the short fields afforded the Als by Washington's misadventures.  Defense saved the day.

What was missing.... was more than 6 rush attempts....and using the flats.   We let Montreal D dictate the game, somewhat and the middle of our OL got pushed around, for a fair bit, that game....
