  1. Dukes has a limitation that defences around the league found after he started the season on fire. Once they schemed to take his slant routes away, he simply didn't adapt by showing that he could make them pay for it down the sidelines or over the top. Can he add that to his game? I don't think it's a tendency thing (where he looks short and mid first) I think it's more of a Zip thing, or a lack thereof. He's still 26 so I won't say it couldn't happen but there isn't all that much that a professional QB can do to give himself a better fastball... Having said that, he's still a better QB2 than what you have. Father Time is undefeated and Collaros doesn't appear young for his (advanced) age. It is within the realm of the likely-to-happen that your QB2 is leading your team this season.
  2. i) We aren't totally sure. ii) I suppose we're good with what we've brought in to replace (yet another, seemingly annual) mass exodus.
  3. No, they weren't doing well before the finger happened... Except that after it did, the entire margin of victory was given away by Zach and the gimp finger. I stand by the assertion, that I think is self evident based on the above stated fact, that if MOS had a backup worth beans (and yes, if he trusted him), the Bombers win 111.
  4. I think his spouse and her family is from Edmonchuk?
  5. Maybe I imagined Collaros with a messed up finger getting picked 3 times leading to 17 Argo points (the margin of victory), and robbing Winnipeg of any points they may have gotten?
  6. Fair enough in that I do believe it to be a fact. I know that the meme about MOS not trusting backups to the point of playing clearly unfit players over fit ones has a lot of truth in it, but it doesn't answer the obvious question of "what if he had a backup that he did trust?". Full disclosure, I wouldn't have trusted either BB backup QB either. I think they suck. But if Nick Arbuckle was available as your backup when Zach got his boo-boo, I think MOS would've put him in and that you'd have sealed it. Edit to add: I also think that Cameron Dukes is better than your backups and could've won it for you.
  7. https://cflpa.com/cflpa-shares-historic-salary-cap-increase-for-2025-season Can't be seen as anything but great news, imo.
  8. We have a guy with the mental toughness to come back from the brink of being out of the game to be our #3 when our QB1 was out. He very quickly rose to the point of contending to be starter in camp but the decision was made for Dukes. Dukes had two good games to start with and Arbuckle accepted his spot at #2. Dukes floundered and Arbuckle came in as our guy. Kelly returns, plays like we knew he could and Arbuckle quietly goes back to his support role. Kelly gets broken at the end of the East final and icewater-in-his-veins Arbuckle comes in to seal the win. He then becomes the entire focus of the 111th and goes out and executes to the point of being the game MOP. You wouldn't want him? Really?? If you'd have had him instead of us, you'd be champions.
  9. 😂No? https://www.cfl.ca/2024/11/17/storybook-ending-nick-arbuckle-named-mvp-of-the-111th-grey-cup/
  10. Nick Arbuckle re-signs with the Scullers.
  11. But that's the thing... it isn't "cheating". You are allowed to spend what you want, but over the SMS limit comes with additional payments.
  12. Looks like Metchié is going to be an Elk. https://3downnation.com/2025/02/03/sources-edmonton-elks-agree-to-terms-with-canadian-db-royce-metchie/
  13. He's still young and may benefit from a change of scenery. He'll be in tough in camp though. We've lost quite a few D-Linemen but several others have already been added to the pipeline. Looks to be an open competition.
  14. Argos have reached an agreement with Celestin Haba per Dan Ralph. https://x.com/danralphcp/status/1886505216629203320
  15. I can't see it here. I reckon we re-sign every free agent who takes our offer ( our modus operandi being one of offering the player what we're willing to spend at their position, and if they want to try and do better we will be sorry to part but wish them well ). Then we shop at the spare parts store for good players who couldn't find a home. (Like Grant and Bailey last year). If Hatcher is one of these, we may be in for him. Then we go try to pull more stars out of our magic bag of them. (Stiggers, Holley, Brinkman, Polk types)
  16. You wouldn't rather Cameron Dukes? Hoping we retain Scott.
  17. Well it wasn't before Sunday... But it got done. Now about Brink, Amos, Metchié, Arbuckle, Smith, Haggerty, Sopik, Adeleke and so on (and so on)... And if we're able (unlikely), Ceresna.
  18. MOSTP Stays an Argo. https://www.argonauts.ca/2025/01/31/reigning-most-outstanding-special-teams-player-janarion-grant-re-ups-with-toronto/
  19. Not for about 12 days, he isn't.
  20. Home ownership in this city would be a tough one for most of them.
  21. I can't blame anyone for trying to get paid what they believe they're worth. We had the best players and they all deserve a raise. They just can't all have it in The Big Smoke.
  22. Hamilton, Edmonton and Sask usually are ready to bid up our free agents. I don't think we'll be players for Ceresna. Still hoping to see the Argo IG account post a toothpick before Sunday (when the tampering window opens). We have so many guys available... I'm prepped for a big exodus.
  23. With puns like that, you'd better walk the line or else the mods will have at you.
